There is no known use for this feather or for the talons, also found on snow griffins. The only thing of value dropped by snow griffins are the snow griffin eggs, used for the Coldain Shawl quests.

it is a junk item, it will not give you free armor or anything like that. ol dude's post was funny though, i wonder if any peeps actually belived it.

Dude this item is great dont throw this away because if you get good faction with the ry'gor orcs you turn this in to the blacksmith for a piece of random ry'gor armor
Dude, you forgot to mention that the Blacksmith will only give you the item if you have already completed the Testament of Ry'Gorr quest. I just did it last night and all I got from the guy was a message sayig something like "it is better to give than to bleed".
To get good Ry'Gorr faction, hunt the dorfs in the village due northeast of the fortress. I got the quest from the Backsmith after about 3 days of killing coldains. My faction was "Apprehensive" after about 150 kills. The good thing about raising Ry'Gorr faction is that you will also raise "mutant" faction on Luclin.
Once you complete the first quest, he will hand you back a cheap necklace (Symbol of Ry'Gorr Initiate: ac4, mana+35 WIS+4 svCold+20, PAL/OGR TRL BAR) and then give you the armor quest. You have to say something like, "what about the second escaped grifon". He will tell you to return the feather, the necklace and 750 gold pieces for a "piece of spare junk...err armor from our vault".
Make sure you have an empty slot in your inventory or you won't get anything.
I gave in the stuff this morning and got a Ry'Gorr Chain Helm. Nice armor for a twink.

I can't believe you rated him awful for his post. His post explained what to do with the feather. Isn't that what we come here for?
Yeah, it is a little funny for people like me to even try to increase factions with them after killing so may.

I agree, the information may not have been what was desired by certain people (myself included) due to the fact they are working on Coldain and CoV factions. But either way, it is a great post for people who want to get the Ryghor Armor without killing the Ryghor (Those on Kael Faction). Although I can't use it, Directly, You can probably get someone to invis you (makes your faction indif) and get the armor from him without having to ruin your other faction. My 2cp.
I think the point here is that there ISNT a quest with the Ry'Gorrs (at least not one I've ever heard of...Ry'Gorr armor is achieved thru kills only as far as I know).
All in all, it was a great post...if it would have been based in truth at all *shrug* So no, people do NOT come here for that kind of info...it's called a wild goose chase, or as another poster put it a red herring...something that does not exist.
