A bandage by any other name...
# Mar 24 2004 at 9:23 AM Rating: Good
This is the same as a regular bandage.

Your bind wound skill determines how high you can bandage and how many points you get per bandage. Bandaging stacks with any spell or item regen that you have including your base standing regen.

From skill 1 to 200 you can bind up to 50% health and you get skill/4 hps per bandage. So at 200 skill you get 50 hps per bandage. The last bandage can take you over 50% health but can't be applied once you reach 50% (I would often get a message that I couldn't bind wounds past 50% at 47% to 49% which is quite annoying.) If you start to apply the bandage before 50% and your regen takes you too high before it finishes it will also fail if I remember correctly.

At skill 201+ you can bandage to 70% (20% higher than before) and the skill/hp ratio improves to skill/2.5 so you get an immediate jump from 50hps to 80.4 (I don't recall if it rounds up or down) hps per bandage. if you are a class that gets up to 210 skill you will cap out at 84 hps per bandage.

First Aid AA skill adds 10% per level, up to 30%, to the max health you can bandage but not the points per bandage. You can get up to 80% with 50 hp bandages at 200 or up to 100% at 201+ with 80+ hp bandages.

If you have an item with a bind wound skill modifier that takes your skill over 200 you will get the additional 20% and the improved hp ratio as long as you have the item equipped. With a skill item and AA points it is possible for a character that normally caps at 200 skill (50%, 50hp bandages) to bandage to 100% with 80+ hp bandages.

Good Post but the new cap is 70% not 50%

Check the date it was posted - well before the patch to allow 70%.

I'm not sure if your having a go or your just saying the new max is 70%

Just pointing out that it is now 70%. Nothing more, as I did note the date. Author did a great job as I said.

Okie, Aloe Swatch is a sort of a souped up bandage, Aloe is an herb [yes in the real world :)] that when applied to wounds, soothes them and makes it heal faster. It also works on sunburns, aches, sores, and any sort of rash. Therefore, this bandage, when applied, adds 1 point of regen onto your normal regen, but does not stack with the regeneration line of spells, or any regeneration tunic [I think, this is an assumption ;)]
Is this the only vendor?
# Dec 30 2002 at 10:19 AM Rating: Decent
The only vendor I've ever found these on is A Shady Swashbuckler in the EC tunnel. Price at 65 cha is 1g2s6c. Seems to have an unlimited supply, I get 200 at a time and he's never run out.

For those of you with Gates of Discord, Abysmal Sea, General Merchants also sell Aloe swatches.

Abysmal Sea - great for Trade Skilling. Hint, go there and hail some of the NPCs, you might find a way of getting to lv 54 in many Tradeskills.

as far as I have seen this is the only vendor

and then theres that quest in Warslicks Woods that you turn the watcher torches into the iksar warlord guy for a swatch, might take a while but if your cheap (or outta cash) you can beat up gobbos for some swatches.
Found these for sale

I found these for sale by a merchant in Shadowhaven near the spire to the Nexus. Was only able to buy 7 until he ran out. Hope this helps.
Bind Wound with Aloe
# Sep 18 2001 at 7:34 PM Rating: Default
It was my experance (bind wound skill is 205)that when applied it adds 30hp of healing (like regeneration) to my initial 50 that the bandage does. 1 HP per tic till it reaches tics. (the regen doesn't stack)

after the last bandage is applied, if you normally get 2hp per tic while sitting, you will get 2 + 1 hp's per tic for 30 ticks then 2hp per tic afterwards.

So if you want to be cheap and get the most. Use this as the last bandage you apply before 50%.
I just use them when I have them and don't care if I use them up.

There is a quest to earn these in Warslick's Woods, you have to give some iksar warlord person 3 gobo watcher signal torches.

At about 40 skill, these gave no more hits back than a regular bandage (did comparison healing). One place I found them available was a merchant in the tunnel in E. Commons.

Someone should try using one on a person currently being afflicted by some DoT : disease, poison, or perhaps more relevant to, say, Flame Lick. Maybe they help stop some of these?
