Went down here with my 76 Necro on Saturday night, 1/5/13.
I was mainly looking for Trakanon, but he wasn't up, so I went back to the beginning of the zone to mess around killing frogs and scarabs.

I really don't know the zone *too* well and even then, it's been about 10 yrs since I was here in any regular frequency.
I kept killing swarms of (mostly) frogs, eventually making my way down to the "chef" area (big room w/ long table).
I went up the stairs and killed a couple frogs on the balcony.
I then went back and around the corner and ran into a Froglok Armsman.

I wonder what he drops? I thought.

Killed him and looted "Truncheon of Doom".
Looking at posts, it seems like this is a very rare drop. I guess I just got lucky?

For the record, he was NOT wielding anything during the fight, so you will not know if he has it until you loot him.

Still dropping in 2011. Been logging in a character I parked there and killing the room every so often. After a discouraging kill of a bunch of minis in PoHate, and Innoruuk, for an attempt at a SEoC for my Ranger so he can look better on Character Select, I popped over and there he was with the Truncheon to cheer me up.

Just got one on BB. Wondering how much it gets resisted on higher end mobs(80-85). Also, does it create good aggro just like a normal slow would?

Buddy and I are using this to slow in Underquarry. Working pretty well for us, not resisting too much at all.

Average high level mob, commonly resisted, but usually lands within 1-3 procs. Only extreme high magic resist mobs does it get resisted alot. Aggro for the proc is nice, but the dps of the weapon gives little aggro while waiting for the proc. I generally when in a group and using it to slow, first use 2 1HS snare weapons with DD+Stun augs to keep aggro until the snare procs, then immediately switch to the ToD hoping for a quick Slow proc. But even it takes a few secs, the use of an Aggro disc + the Snare proc, and of the DD+Stun procs usually give you some solid aggro long enough for the ToD to proc, unless it's being finicky :D

Definitely starting with ToD and waiting for it proc, even with Aggro discs, you'll often lose aggro before it procs. But most of the time in groups, I don't even use it, as it's not worth it, with group dps, unless it's a named mob with alot of hps and considerable dps on it's part.

BTW: As with all slows on higher level mobs, the vast majority is mitigated, but it still helps, and is especially helpful on mobs with haste buffs, even if mostly mitigated.

Just my experience, yours may vary.

Had this nice little weapon drop on 10-24-09 on Bertoxx. Took about a week of off and on camping. Saw the named twice before he dropped the Trunch. Previously dropped Mrylokar's Helm and the Seb Scale bracer.

Hope this helps.

I use this to slow mobs in Old Bloodfields (and other zones) and it still works great. I just can't believe I didn't know it existed before today. After I watched a group without a slower work their magic in this zone for a tank with under 4500 ac I had to ask. Found out he had one of these bad boys and that prevented him from being shredded up like paper. I literally RAN to the bazaar and happily paid the asking price. Considering how easy platinum is to come by, and how little I can actually spend on anything at my level because everything is no trade (leaving me with a LOT of unspent platinum), I probably would have paid 200,000.

The truncheon still drops off the armsman as of 11/15/08. Myself and a buddy with a couple of alts have looted three(3) of them in the past week. It is still the extremely rare drop for the little frog! We have just killed it way too many times to have kept count. Our warriors are extremely pleased!

This dropped for me a couple of hours ago on Test Server. Long camp for me, cleared the room about 50 times over 4 days. But, when all said and done, I had the Truncheon of Doom, and 4k plat in cash and a bunch of spells. Trivial camp for a 70 war, bring a good book to read between spawns.

Dropped on Druzzil Ro on July 3rd, 2005. Make sure you're camping the Armsman and not the Armorer. (My mistake, camped the wrong guy for 8 hours.) After finding the correct room, he dropped the Truncheon on his 5th spawn. (about 4 hours total.)

On 7th Hammer these sell for about 20k. It's a nice enough hammer and my warrior use it to slow when she fights with her druid pet in PoP zones but once slow has landed it goes off for other weapons with more DPS. I paid 24k for it a while back and I don't consider that a particularly good deal. 10k would have been, though. =)

This dropped today for me in Sebilis. 20 hours of camping over 4 different session. I was drowning in Myrlokars Helms and the new Zerker helms, I did not think the Truncheon would ever drop. But it did. The camp site is right by the chef camp, upstairs and to the left as you face the last door into chef.

50% slow on a warrior. Snazzy. Seems to proc decently. Use this when I'm not MA and on mobs that are hard to slow. This proc has helped save more than one one group/raid encounter imo. Doubt my warrior will part with it for a long time.

I 2 box with a 58 cleric and with no slow it aint easy w/ the hard hitting mobs. I got sick of it and decided to march my *** down to Seb to try for a chance at looting this thing.

I got all the way to where the Armsman spawns, killed him, and he dropped it. I couldn't belive it.

This weapon is a beautiful thing. With a decent dex it procs fairly often, making it the ultimate soloing tool. When soloing I use this toy until it procs, then switch to Windblade (or fleshgrinder + frostbringer if the mob has low resistances). The slow makes it easy to drop Velk's trash and whatnot. Not the best exp, but when you can't find a group in the Planes, it's a good substitute. Bring along a clicky BP and you're back at full health in next to no time. If you don't have a clicky bp, you can also dual wield Embalmers' Skinning Knives on a kodiak or two outside until you get a few backpacks full of bandaids.

As someone noted below, the drop on these is much, much rarer than it used to be. Used to be fairly common, but now expect to pay a lot more than some previous price notes say. It is worth whatever cost though - great weapon, doubt i'd give mine up unless the offer was unbelievable. Very very useful in tough dungeons or on tough monsters when you don't want to get your chanter/shaman eaten, and just as useful when you are even xp'ing with no chanter/shaman around. **** even with a chanter/shaman around, this thing proc's enough that why should they bother spending the mana.

this thing PC's on the Zebuxoruk server for about 7k. Sold one today to my buddy for a slight discount. 4000platinum, 4 drop spells from the area (Splurt, Circle of Summer, Bristlebanes bundle and another one I forget) and 6gems (Random crushed gems from velks and the last one I needed for my Skyshrine monk bracer. Small note, I've heard of two people (probably more) buying this thing for 2k on my server, so im happy.

Pricing Data
# Feb 05 2002 at 2:18 PM Rating: Excellent
The problem with the pricing data is people post their opinions. How can we possibly gage a price cuz mister know it all says this is what it should sell for? If you bought it or sold it post a price ONCE, if you bought it or sold it twice for different prices, post it twice. Otherwise don't waste everyone elses time saying this should sell for 40000000 under pricing info. I don't care if you have it and wouldn't sell it for 20K.

I want to know what these are being bought and sold for not your opinion. Feel free to post your opinion here, not under pricing info. If you click on pricing data, it asks what price you bought it for or sold it for, not what price you would sell it for. Just because you wouldn't sell for under 35K does not mean anyone will EVER give you that much for it. The day someone does give you 35K for it, then post it here.

And now that I think of it, if you see it in EC or GFay for a certain price and don't buy it, you have no idea how much it actually sold for if it sold at all. I shout I want 12K for something and I still take 8K sometimes. If you didn't actually buy it or sell it, you have no business posting in the Pricing Data of this great web service. You don't help anyone, so whats the point?

I'm done ranting...

I love this weapon .the slow proc is wonderfull our guild raids kd once a week and quite often i proc verry early on in the fight and i am our Tank Mezzer so me off TM'n the mob by my self gettin it slowed is nice and avoiding gettin the shammies killed and most times i can hold taunt just fine with this the proc realy seems to draw aggro well, for me anyway
and got to love it when puller pulls mob and the first swing i take slows it about 50% this is almost the only weapon i use now ..
saw it in ec once when i was about 40 or 45 .. they wanted 5k i thought well worth it but i did not have 5k back then then one day i saw

This thing totally kicks a$$. Was pulling nonstop bats and bugs in solb and healers were always fm!It was procing about 90% of the time usually at the beginning of a fight.

It doesn't do the damage that DW does with good weapons, but who cares the debuff more than makes up for the damage difference. Of course I wouldn't use it if I was MA on a raid, but in an exp group it's very handy and if you need to keep taunt just switch to DW as soon as it procs, your healers will love you!

Wepon procs are not always the same as spells. Swarmcaller (ranger 2hander) procs a slow that is 40%, but the spell is only about 20-30%, so this could be... im not saying one way of the other just letting you know. (plus you don't have to be so negative :)
RE: Tepid Deeds

The proc message is "%t slows down" Also I believe this is faster then swarmcaller. I was using it while a ranger was using swarmcaller, and I was overwriting his slow.
What exactly does the proc do?
