The required skill the mob involved the items needed to make this pethitic item is just another
one of Verants sick way of makeing you pay $10
a month and a complete waste of time. Anyone who would make claim this is worth spending time on is getting paid to tell such a lie.
groovy look too

seen these ingame... they have a look like gold engraved splint mail or something similar, very nice look :) very nice for the rarity value alone
Player Made

This is, again, truly disappointing. People need items like this as lower level characters. By the time you can afford to buy something like this, you already have something better! And forget making these and selling them! Who's going to buy them? You can't sell these things for enough money to break even. So it goes for WAY TOO MANY of the player made items in the game. I don't know of ANY of the skills that are worth spending your time on.
How to make this,

here's a link to the eqtraders.com message board,
http://pub13.ezboard.com/feqtraderscornertailoring.showMessage?topicID=1274.topic

if that thread ever dies, here's the howto info from it(or you could just visit eqtraders.com:p)

Ingredients were

* (1) vial of Purified Mana {(4) rubies per vial & (1) Poison Vial}
* (1) Plat Thread
* (1) Swatch of Terrorantula Silk
* (1) wrist pattern

Combined in the Erudite Cultural kit

it was said to not be triv for the guy who made it with 150ish skill
bah ether way it's an awesome item for being player made
# Apr 20 2001 at 4:18 AM Rating: Default
Look at most items player made they don't add stats resist and ac hell if your campin the AC u might be able to spin his butt into the bracer and make a few bucks instead of coming out of Sro with nada like usual.

1) You have to be an erudite to make this

2) You require a tailoring skill greater than 120

3) You require Purifies mana which uses FOUR rubie (roughly 600pp) to make.

4) It requires a platinum thread

Basically, it costs around 700pp to ATTEMPT to make one of these bracers. Also consider the fact that it's easier to do the hero bracer or cleric bracer quest.

For the effort, cost and skill required, this bracer is disappointing.
Just a guess..but

I believe that they will add in more drops...for this than from the terrorantula. Maybe they're adding terrorantula type creatures into the new zone they're planning to be connected to Paineel....hey, anything's possible ^_^

That would kind of contradict the fact that the idea of Steelsilk came from a traveler who'd (basically, don't remember the wording) been to South Ro and had Terrorantula silk.

Yay!

I actually like this :) More AC than the Hero Bracer I'm wearing now.

Finally, something I can make, wear, and not be laughed at for.
What About Casters?
# Apr 19 2001 at 5:47 PM Rating: Decent
It was bad enough that Erudite's didn't get any racial armor til now, but pure casters can't use it. Although having 142 INT at lvl one is pretty nice so one can't complain too much. Which brings up the question why would someone make a WIS based Erudite char and vice versa ( High Elves with natually high WIS playing INT based casters) I've heard several contradictions regarding what WIS and INT does for pure casters and priest types. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Just like Loeric said. Erudites dont really have a poor wisdom, in fact its tied for second with dwarves... Dwarves just have more strength.

But if all everyone ever did was just pick the best stat race then every class would be identical. I have an Erudite cleric, and I pretty much enjoy it much more than I would a High Elf (except for the blindness at night part)

woops not like Loeric said, like the other anon guy...

Why would someone do an erudite cleric ? Easy :)

1. There are way too many high elf and dwarf clerics, so why not making an 'exotic' cleric ? Erudites' wisdom isn't that bad and their high int is usefull to increase their skills faster. (personally I increased skills extremely fast => bind wound from 1 to 79 with 100 bandages. I haven't tried tradeskills yet)

2. for roleplaying's sake :) If you're fond of roleplaying, you shouldn't go to PoG as a high elf cleric :)

I'm sure that other players will find other good reasons to play an erudite cleric

TOYS! FUN TOYS!

manaless unlimited fear.. and special shorter casting times vs animals and undead.. sounds like my cleric will be grouping with necros quite a bit :)

oh and of course this set of armor that I'm posting under as well *grins*

All the races are pretty much set up so that they have some sort of associated healer class to complement their melee class/es. Erudites have clerics (good and evil) for this reason. High Elves may have naturally high wis but their int is better than humans. They also have the highest charisma getting them better prices.
Re: Int/Wis casters
# Apr 19 2001 at 7:01 PM Rating: Default
Going off what Prodigyman said, high-elves having the highest charisma means they're an attractive choice for enchanters. The total of int + cha for high-elves is higher than any other race.
RE: Re: Int/Wis casters
# Apr 20 2001 at 3:43 AM Rating: Default
hmmm Erudite have the highest int+cha (at least as chanters) ;)
RE: Re: Int/Wis casters
# Apr 19 2001 at 9:35 PM Rating: Default
actually erudite get 15 more int for sacrificing 10 cha over high elf, also cha gear is usually cheaper, and also gives more per slot, compare 7 cha bracers, can get apair for 50p to pbb or woven grass, both +3 int and 4x the cost... so invest your early points into int, not cha...

That's pretty funny. You have to farm a high 30s rare spawn for the silks and spend about 800pp for each attempt at making a steelsilk item. Plus you have to be an Erudite (grand)master tailor...
RE: Heh
# Apr 19 2001 at 7:25 PM Rating: Default
The rare spawn in question is Terrorantula in South Ro... a wee bit higher than "Level to Attain: 1"

As if the people trying to force the AC spawn weren't causing enough carnage amongst the lawn trash... just wait til all those Erud Magi start nuking the bugs as well! ;)

I DO understand your point, so please don't take this as a flame...I'm just wanting to inform you:

The "Level to Attain: 1" doesn't mean the items necessary to MAKE this item...it means you can get it at level 1 by buying it. If the items that are needed to make this one item were listed in the database (might already be, but haven't checked), then THOSE items would be listed as "Level to attain: 30+"(or whatever level is necessary).

Took me a little bit to figure this out when I first logged on here, so I thought I'd spread the word.

"sorry to flame" ??? more like sorry im weetahded

all trade skills can be learned to max at lvl one if you have the materials, does not say the lvl to attain those now does it... at lvl one if you have the coin to purchase such things, you could in theory make these at lvl 1

You can buy it at level 1 huh? Well you can buy a Lupine Dagger at level 1 if you only have the money.

I think it's like this:
Playermade items are marked with Level 1.
