I am having the same issue with the combine. I get the, "Cannot combine with this container" for my Mage. Closer inspection shows that the Shroud of Dreams only works with FOUR classes, SK, Necro, SHM, and BL. Not really sure where to go from here as I haven't found an update of where to purchase for the other classes.
That is the default setting about FOUR classes - it works for all classes.
For Mage you will be making Conjuredflame armor. So in the shroud you would combine (for level 1 armor)
Abstruse Remnant which is a dropped item plus
Consort Coalescing Agent plus
An Immaculate Silk template of the item your making - for example a head item would require an immaculate silk Cap template
What are the items your trying to combine?
Even after making hundreds of these templates and hundreds of final armor items (both of which you can sell) I still sometimes put the wrong items in the shroud.

This is indeed blocking people from upgrading their House tier 1 armor to tier 2. few people on Rathe experiencing issue atm. Looks like the bug is back

It is not a bug. You see those classes because they can use the Shroud by itself.
Everyone else can use it just fine - if your getting an error its more likely you are using the wrong mats

When I posted this, I had just done checks on multiple toons to see if I could replicate the issue, which I had. So little to no success in the combines ( some combines were successful, namely those classes listed on the shroud.). The Shrouds did not originally have classes listed actually, that was later added in, which caused this same issue at that time which they had to resolve.
I admit you are correct in the most part of your post, but in this particular case, I'd have to disagree. The player in question was on a Zerker and trying to turn his Abstruse Rageblade Coif into a Recondite Rageblade Coif ( tier 1 to tier 2) Using the Abstruse Rageblade Coif and a Recondite Remnant of Knowledge into the Shroud of Dreams, and was getting back a message that he was not the right class and the combine was not being allowed. There were a few of us trying to help him troubleshoot this, about 10 toons in all. those of the listed classes didn't have any issues, those that were not was hit or miss. SO I am thinking it's the old glitch/bug resurfacing, as does happen in this game.

This or these combines may be bugged at the moment. Will be reporting possible bug as of this date. Have all three items in the Shroud of Dreams but getting the dread these items do not combine message.
Tripple checked the combinations and everything appears to be correct. Another player has reported much the same while older toons have had no problem.
