Was not 47 when this was looted...was 55...also was not on my cleric...was on my 63 mage.

Sorry for a mistake...flame away.
6kpp????
# Aug 10 2003 at 6:23 AM Rating: Default
You can barely give these away on Drinal...I can't see how this item would ever get up to 6000pp unless it was a quest item. I almost destryoed it when I looted it.

Makes me wish I was on a different server =P

Why +HP beats +AC with a stick.
# Jun 23 2002 at 3:31 AM Rating: Default
Most any one +hp item, by itself, isn't "worth it." However, putting a few +hp items together, they start getting worth it quite a bit. So no, just wearing this one +hp item won't make you able to withstand another hit. Wearing this and a vah shir skin robe and crystal spider eyes, however, will.

AC doesn't really help int casters. You never get enough of it that mobs will miss, or that high end mob damage will be mitigated to an extent really worth sacrificing extra hitpoints with. What's more, some people suspect an AC soft cap of 700 for int casters, after which you need much more AC to see even a minor effect.

The bottom line is that +Hp gear adds up and there are no diminishing returns on hitpoints. More is always, always better.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 24 2002 at 11:23 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hi, i'm a 52 necro on zebuxoruk, and am thinking about selling this item. Would 10k be a reasonable price to ask for it? Thanks.

never saw this for sale :( But this item is very good, i first thought sweet melee item, but its ok the int casters need hp (hell 3 arrows took a caster from full to 4 1/4 bubs.)
Lucky...

So, seeing how people are willing to pay 20K for these... I think every necros best bet is to find someone totally clueless about what it is really worth... Got mine for 1.2K, no joke :)
HP plzthx

I am a lvl 60 enchanter on Povar, and I would use this item in a heartbeat.
VERY good Necro item
# May 17 2001 at 7:00 AM Rating: Decent
Necros need HP over ANYTHING at high level. Necros don't need +mana.

To me (54 necro), this item is well worth 20k. It gives me around +75 HP total.

I was VERY happy to get one in Kael, and as I was the only necro out there, not much competition.

I never seen a Sickly Glowing Orb auctionned yet, quite rare, and it is likely to be acquired in a raid , and will be given to necros and enchanters that will NOT sell them since it's the best HP range slot item.
Maybe in a few month some of those will be sold for 20kpp+ , I guess.

Picked one up last night from one of the guards behind the arena near Kallis (Corner towards temple of KOS)

And yea, its not great, but about 70ish hp in the range slot is a LOT, and much welcome as an enchanter ;)
/agree

Just thought I would like to agree with what some of you are saying, I recently hit 214 int with all my items that I dont want to swap out for hps, svs, mana, effects, and ac reasons so this item fit nicely into my ranged slot. Approaching 1500 hps self buffed and I would like to get that as high as I possible can, hps equal mana for necros after all.

How do you get this?

Range?

If this item Truely goes in the rangeslot I would take it in a heartbeat! -57 Chanter :)
Goes in RANGED slot
# Apr 11 2001 at 5:30 AM Rating: Default
Necro in my guild owns one of these, it goes in ranged slot.
hmmm
# Apr 11 2001 at 12:53 AM Rating: Default
How interesting...you don't see an item like this for INT classes that often. Would many of you use an item like this? (serious question - I don't have any INT characters)
RE: hmmm
# Apr 11 2001 at 4:08 AM Rating: Default
Very unlikey. A caster that could get this could also get a crystal webshield out of Crystal Caverns. also secondary only. 15ac 20mana 20hp and some saves i think
RE: hmmm
# Apr 25 2004 at 6:10 AM Rating: Decent
except 60hp 5sta owns those stats anyway

roofles for replying to a 3 year old post

RE: INT Class use
# Apr 11 2001 at 3:45 AM Rating: Decent
Necroes will gain more use out of this item with the minor (very minor) STA hp boost and the straight hp with the aid of their tap spells.

Other classes won't find too much use for a non-AC item that doesn't even provide enough hp to take a single solid hit for the level range of the item. AC provides a greater chance to avoid damage in the first place (barring resists for casting). By the time 45+ is reached, critters are regularly hitting for 60, and into the 100's by post-50.

If the item had additional AC as well as the hp multi boost, it might find a limited number of casters using it. With its current design, Necroes are the ones that will be using this the most in the endgame.
RE: INT Class use
# Apr 12 2001 at 12:05 PM Rating: Default
Between 45 and 50, mobs are hitting in the 100's guy ...
RE: INT Class use
# Apr 12 2001 at 10:34 AM Rating: Default
Whoa! Mob's in the 45+ hit for 60? WOOT!! Cause these aviak avocets and cyclops hurt me when they hit for 72, I am super-glad that number goes down!
RE: hmmm
# Apr 11 2001 at 3:10 AM Rating: Decent
an Enc might or a necro...esp if the necro was WAY maxxed on int already...60 hps is more mana, high end necros often swap out int for hp items
RE: hmmm
# Apr 11 2001 at 5:21 AM Rating: Default
after 200int, it's all about hp and resists...a caster's AC is never good enough to LOOK for AC items; the difference between 550ac and 600ac is so minimal to a 50+ mob that focusing on a few extra hp is more important than a few extra ac. This might find some limited use on raids where hp are at a premium, such as Trak and his hard to resist poison AoE, or the Queen in Chardok and her fire AoE. Not an item you'll see many people carrying on a daily basis though, I would think.
