I may be wroung but do not even Melee types need INT or WIS for skill ups so that would just leave mana. I believe that unless someone does not want a item that all who are not lock out due to race or class should have equal chance at any item. But i know i seam to be in the minority with this idea.

Dexterity: Dexterity affects how quickly you learn weapon skills, and how often weapons will do their special attack. This is another very important stat for Warriors. Most warrior classes already have an innately high dexterity. Most high level weapons have special abilities which help to deal more damage during combat. Dexterity also affects how often Warriors deliver critical or crippling blows. As a result of this a high dex is something which is always handy. There are also a number of items and buffs in the game which help to increase your overall dexterity. Putting bonus points into dexterity is a very viable choice.

That is from eq.crgaming.com/creationguides/Warrior.asp and while that site may not be the most up to date one it is based in fact. There was also a note in the developer's corner about this but I could not find it. Skill ups are based on what type of skill is being used. If you are jewelcrafting it is based on the higher of your intelligence or your wisdom. If you are smithing it based on your strength. Melee skills are based on dexterity for the most part. I would hardly think that some one would say "Well, I guess we need to let the warrior have this item so he can up he jewelcrafting skill!" lol.

heh but INT is needed if a warrior(or anyone for that matter) wants to raise his skills fast for tradeskills, swimming, languages, etc. Of course, priests or WIS based hybrids use WIS for the skill ups. But anyways, all stats have a distinct purpose, so why not try to get them all up? After, of course, your most important stats are high or maxed out. Anyways...just fyi i guess
