i have a 65 ranger with over 300aa points and he can critical for oh umm well over 2k and evan up to 5k thats a lot huh no wait my regular hit is 2k sorry bout that my avg critical is 5k just to clear things up for u
I would like to see your screen shot of a 5000 crit
# Feb 22 2003 at 7:07 PM Rating: Good
Hello dear

As a fellow 65 ranger with about 100AA, much less than your 300 you purport, I should like to see your 5000 crit hit on a screenshot.

Using Primal bow (33/35) and Mith champ arrows I max crit for just under 2k with trueshot. Without Trueshot, as equipied the max hit 953.

My friends using an AoW bow max crit for about 2400ish (43/45) I have heard max crit for the windstriker (45/60) is around 2500ish.

I should very much like to see your profile hon and a screen shot of such a fine shot of 5,000, other than a finishing blow (which is a natural 32,000)
Luv it

I got this bow as a hand me down from a friend in my guild. So far my highest crit is 195 which i got today in Kael. I'm level 52 with 206 archery...i cant wait till i get my trueshot disc and endless quiver and tailored quiver to see this baby really pump out the damage!

lol, if you look at these Velium bows; Light,Recurved, and Wrapped, you notice they get lower in approx. price as the stats get better?

Some g00bs have been ******** around with price submissions...

If you bothered to check, you would see that there is only 1 submission on the recurved bow, and only 1 *realistic* submission on the Wrapped.
The light bow is the only one that has the semblance of realistic pricing, and even then one entry is 5 times more than all the others.

I was hunting in Misty Thicket when I came across a young lady halfling rogue of seven seasons. She had one of these bows as well as much good armor. She asked me if I could make her arrows, because she said she "Ran out alot." I was out myself, but planned to make the run back to East Commons for more material to fletch. She told me that she would pay me 2 platinum pieces for each group of arrows I could make for her. She even let me handle this wonderous bow. When I enquired as to it's origin she simply smiled and said, "I have powerful friends."

As she ran away, I stood looking at me new Trueshot Longbow, tears dripping down my face. I simply chanted over and over: "I am a Ranger. I have hunted for eleven seasons. I made this Trueshot Bow all by myself with a fletching skill of only 75. It is a beautiful bow. I Love this bow."

Not fair

this sucks...awesome bow but why taunt a poor lvl 45 ranger like me with a piece like this if it involves so much danger to even to get to the zone it drops in...Not fair...droppem in the Warrens hehe
wait till the next expansion comes out and they make a 200 range 40/42 10str/dex model....then i will really have something to ***** about
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 28 2001 at 10:26 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I think only warriors should get this weapon. After all, when it gets down to it, warriors are the only needed class in the entire game. All the other classes are really just not needed. Clerics suck, sk's suck, rangers suck, enchanters suck, necro's suck, and monks suck. I do not need any "healing" or anything when I hunt, after all, I killed Cazic at lvl 42, he is a wuss.
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 02 2001 at 9:08 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Bullsh*t, you can't even get to the planes at 42.

Yes this is great and all, but can you say "Priceless Velium Reinforced Bow?" Here are stats (which will end my comment):
33 DMG 35 DLY
2 WT 5 AC
+25 MANA +25 HP +5 AGI +5 INT +5 CHA +5 STR +5 DEX +5 STA +5 WIS
+5 SV COLD +5 SV DISEASE +5 SV FIRE +5 SV MAGIC +5 SV POISON
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 25 2001 at 10:12 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) HAHA! Are there others of you who find this hard to believe? Bonuses to all stats and resists?
RE: Chaani

#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 25 2001 at 5:40 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) How do you get all this stuff? Does it drop or do you have to quest for it ?
Nice

THis is really nice, even though it doesn't add to stats, it is still very nice. And it is dropable, need one of these

This is probably the best bow in the game for damage. It's definately better than the compound darkwood I made and use.
Geez, I can't wait until they update fletching.
RE: Nice
# Aug 30 2001 at 6:18 PM Rating: Decent
I wish that were true of all Player made item skills. Fletching has become out dated for most players. Why spend hour upon hour developing fletching skills when you can loot a better bow in less time. And VERY few people buy fletched bows these days so it is not worth putting money into the skill either. About the only use in fletching is the uber arrows (silver tipped, etc) and at 2pp each arrow I doubt I will ever use them in a fight.

Same is true of smithing/tayloring. Cultural armor is nice but have you ever tried getting tayloring to 250? don't bother. It is only good for fame not for having the skill. The only thing keeping skills alive (other then jewel crafting) right now are the Thurgadin quests.
RE: Nice
# Dec 03 2002 at 1:57 AM Rating: Decent
It's not that it's outdated. My warrior on povar is fletching and (yeah I know I am a up close and personal kinda guy but like the art of single pulling from a distance) I'd rather make my own bows for may satisfaction rather than loot or buy one. Sure if a bow I loot is better than what I have, more power to me :). Take in consideration how bad skills suffer by leveling to fast by twinking and plvling. My warrior is not twinked to much, two lammy's and a 25AC BP so far, and all his stuff is maxed.
Nice?

This bow is better than "nice". Although it's not the best in the game, it's utterly incredible! There is also the Double Recurve Velium also found in DN with faster delay, and the GM given Silver Bow, I believe which is something like 25/30. I remember when my Runed Oak Bow was the best you could get, better than Rain Caller/Trueshot in terms of dam/del. Then Kunark came out and the Wind Saber was AMAZING with such low delay. Those are now both crap in comparison, but that crap is what most players will have to settle for. Good luck, all.
RE: Nice?
# Mar 28 2001 at 12:09 PM Rating: Decent
How strange people are.

If something was ever good (for example the Runed Oak Bow) it doesn't become "crap" because something better comes into the game.

The Runed Oak Bow is still a good bow. So is that old faithful, the Trueshot.

If something was good once it remains good always. It may cease to be the best, but that's an entirely different thing.
Careful...

I may be strange, but I am careful when I write. If you'll re-read my post, you'll see that I said that the Runed Oak was "crap in comparison" to the newer Velious bows, like this one, which, I believe can be stated without question. I did not say they were just plain "crap" because I knew someone would argue. Please read carefully, and write carefully when one's, including your own, posterity may be at stake.
I apologize if I offended anyone. I loved my Runed Oak Bow, and mean no disrespect to anyone who uses one currently. Be safe, all, and have fun!:)
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 31 2001 at 6:53 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) good for level 2 maybe, beyond that the stuff becomes crap, cause because items have gotten better the mobs have gotten tougher. Havent been to velious have you? if you had you would know old bows are crap
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 28 2001 at 2:56 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) hehe i remb when the store bought stuff was the best :p anyways im glad there starting to make it so that archary can become a viable form of combat.
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 29 2001 at 2:01 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) yes, now if only they would make rangers better at it then warriors.... ;p
