considering the effort required for this, don't seem like it would be worth doing unless your a quester type person. I am far from it, only time I do a quest is if its a simple faction quest (simple as in hand in 4 bone chips heh) or to get a item I really can use.

In my opinion, as long as we know what the person means in a game discussion, it doesn't matter enough to jump on a mis-spelling or Malapropism. Are these spelling police really helping, or taking away from what had heretofore been a positive game experience? HMMM...their faction with me went down a fraction....
I know the camp is long, but the Testament of Vanear is a MUCH better item than this. And at the level required to get this 'thing' you can probably drop Dyllin with one DD. It DEFINITELY needs to become a ranged slot item to make up for the cost and time to get it.
Hey, look, it's half a vellium round shield superglued to half a charred guardian shield, w/ 2 of the ac made into 20hp. I wonder if it's a greater source of light. =P
The difference between this and the CGS is the fact that it gives both CR and wis. Of course it's less wis, but if you go on raids where CR is needed, this is a good item.
+5 to your save versus cold will not do S**T on a raid... sure sure...every little bit helps... Well, my Necro can buff your cold resists if you need it... and it's alot more than 5...
or you could ask a shaman...
This item is pretty worthless... there are alot of other things to be wasting time on than this.
5 to resists DOES make a differance because as you said, every bit helps. Yes, your necro can buff them or a shaman, but it ALL ADDS UP!!
Resists are important, especially as you get to where you are doing more raid activity. I have had my MR over 300 and my CR over 250 doing Vox and she STILL got the spells through. Who knows what another 5 might have helped.
My dark elf cleric is at 197 wis at level 33 right now since cleric wis stuff is so cheap and abundant (she has not even got efritti boots yet, just the cleric quest boots, and arms chest and legs slots are taken up by no wis rygorr)
So pretty quick here she could be at about 200 (like if she ever gets aegis for back.. super warmly with qeynos clerics already in preperation = P) with this totem instead of a cgs and this would be better for her since 20 hp and 5 sv cold. Since she's dark elf, a high elf cleric would be at 200 even easier as it starts with more wis.
It does look kinda like it might be a mistake though.. they've done that with stuff like this before, made it shield slot instead of range.
This would be nice if it could go in the range slot like some of the other totems that exist. I think by the time people could complete this quest they would have a CGS or better most likely.
Charred Guardian Shields are so cheap now that there is no point in doing a long quest for an item that gives less reward. The only problems come when there are more people wanting to buy than there are people selling.
Considering the item is no drop, can't even think of twinking if you just happened to finish the quest ...
Yeah, the CGS is *far* too easy and common for what the item brings to the table. Wisdom and AC in decent quantities invalidate anything that doesn't have really excellent stats. If this boasted 18AC or some save V magic or something, I could see using it but otherwise it is not worth anything. By the time you can quest this you can certainly get a CGS yourself or buy one for 500pp or so in your local auction area.
