it is a shame that they made foraging a no drop item part of this quest, for those of you who can't forage. however, it's not entirely impossible. just have a forager MQ this part for you. i have 2 extra ones in the bank and would be happy to help. i'm a druid on Lanys T, my character's name is Qeylaani. just give me a shout and i'll be glad to help :)

Boy, it's getting old to see all these nice little quests that look relatively fun to do eliminated from 80% of the people who would do them because you have to forage a no-drop item.

Oh well, back to my potential quests list...

I know what you mean, bigfishcj,
My bard is fighting in WL and forages the sap. I go to look what it is for and say wtf, I can't even use the end item.
In fact, the only class that can is a druid, unless I am mistaken and the other classes can be a wood elf (foraging)....I don't think so though.

Racial forage that is capped may not be good enough for some items that are difficult to forage.

And not to forget, Iksar necromancers.

So, let's see if we have this right,

Class: Druid, Necromancer, Shaman

Race: Halfling, Half Elf, Human, Iksar.

Anyone that has this item know if it really is beastlord useable, seems a lot of stuff on Allakhazam's is marked beastlord useable that isn't (Elder Spiritist armor comes to mind.) just wondering since i've not had real good luck finding a nice BL neck slot item.

I doubt that this is beastlord usable. All of the classes currently listed above as being able to use this are either pure priests or pure casters. Beastlords are hybrids, and no hybrid class can use this.

P.S. i Hope you're not on my server. Should not be all about money. You know..i use to be like you..until a fellow monk looted the pipe in Chardok for the monks epic, b/c i couldn't make it to the spot in time seeings i died running to them. And he offered to MQ it with for free. Ever since i haven't done/helped with anyquest and asked for money for my services.
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 04 2001 at 2:23 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I'd do more quests if the quested item could be sold. This no-drop crap that you quest for it pointless. I'd rather go raid and get better no-drop than to waist my time on quests that I could not profit from.

I'd like to see more no drop items. I am of the opinion that a level 2 twink shouldn't walk around with level 45 stuff. I also think it is a good idea that weapons don't proc till a certain level, why can't this be spread to all items? As in the effects don't benifit a charachter till a certain level? I am putting on my asbestos suit btw.

some people miss the whole point of the quest
it is not the items it is the quest that matters
it is called roleplaying
RE: lost
# Nov 26 2001 at 11:14 PM Rating: Default
Camping crap for hours on end is *not* roleplaying. I see VI has brainwashed you well.
RE: lost
# May 09 2005 at 3:25 PM Rating: Decent
As he said (and said it nicely which you have obviously missed as well), it is all about the quest. The fun is in the journey, not arriving at the destination. Why do want to put down his enjoyment? I pity people that feel they have to denigrate someone to make them fall to their level.
RE: lost

This is a nice item for a pvp server (rallos zek) it has 5 to all resists and is no drop so you cant have some gay *** wizard nuke you at 1 bub health and lose it.

RE: lost
# Oct 08 2002 at 1:52 AM Rating: Decent
While I have to agree that the camping involved in some quests gets out of hand, just think about it in terms of reality. For example, if you were told to locate one particular person/animal in a large outdoor area or city how long might it actually take you to find them? If I told you to go to the nearest wooded area or park from your home and locate a particular squirrel there, how long could it take you to do so? If I also told that upon returning with some gruesome piece of that rodent to me that I would give you 20,000 dollars, you probaby wouldn't mind looking for it for 2-3 days or longer. Same concept here. It is not about roleplaying really with alot of the quests, but rather having the player make a commitment of effort to getting the item they desire for what ever reason they might want it. If you wish to do the 10, 20, 30, 50, 80 hour camp involved for what ever quest it may be and are successful, then wear your reward with pride and express your pity to those that go after you.
Well
# Jul 22 2001 at 9:06 AM Rating: Default
Imho opinion,

You're better off to go with a velium black saphire necklace, + 65 mana + 65 HP.

For resists you want, Golden Blue Diamond necklace. Heck, the gems are easier to get than doing this quest.
***** this stupid quest, Verant is retarded.
RE: Well
# Oct 09 2002 at 5:06 PM Rating: Decent
I have to agree with Raejin. Yes BD gear has resists, but does it have mana or AC? Yes VBS Necklace has higher mana and hps, but does it have resists or AC? This neck is a nice well rounded piece that gives you a little of everything without making you pick which is more important to you at a given moment
RE: Well
# Nov 24 2001 at 1:08 AM Rating: Good
True, but neither of them have AC. And while yes, a ry'gorr chain collar or a guardian choker have higher AC than this one, none of them have decent all-round stats. This is quite a nice general piece, even if the quest is an utter utter *******.

NoDrop foraged item?
# Jun 10 2001 at 8:02 AM Rating: Good
If you look at the usage on this item then check ot the quest it doesnt make sense if the quest info is correct there is only 2 classes/chrs that can do this quest 1 is any druid class and the other is a iskar class shm/necro there the only classes that can even wear the item that have the forage ability to even do the quest. Part of the quest calls for tree sap of some sort (no drop item) foraged in WL. Any other class would have to do some sort of multi questing to even do this quest and get any benefit out of it. Maybe I wrong?

The quest description says "give the ooze and tree sap"... which clearly means MQable to me.
RE: NoDrop foraged item?
# Aug 07 2001 at 2:48 PM Rating: Default
Needing a NO DROP foraged item to complete this quest is really not that important. First of all, we can't be sure of the status of the item you get when you turn in the tree sap. It might be dropable. Furthermore, there is always the option to multiquest that piece of the puzzle. Multiquesting has always worked if both people have the right faction, and Verant has obviously endorsed the practice by making magicians need the Pegasus Feather Cloak, one of the most highly camped, NO DROP, TOYS, required for their epic. :(
2 or 3 wis =30 mana ROFLMAO
# Jun 05 2001 at 2:09 PM Rating: Default
Seriously 30 mana = 2 or 3 wis ?
have you ever done one of the mana calculators?
maybe at lvl 50 or so you would get 30 mana out of 2 wis but that is pushing it my friend . and i suppose that you have your mana up to what? 4000 i think not :P
RE: 2 or 3 wis =30 mana ROFLMAO
# Jul 12 2001 at 3:42 AM Rating: Excellent
Actually, yes, at level 50 1 wisdom is = to 10mana

at level 25 1 wis is = to 5mana......
level divided by 5 to know how much mana you gain per point of wisdom, or int for int casters,

the mana formula is
[(wisdom/5)+2]xlevel

so lets say level 50 with 100wis

[(100/5)+2]x50
[(20) +2]x50
[22] x50
1100

so a level 50 with 100wis has 1100mana..
and then you add in + mana items if any

also any wis above 200 gives 1 mana
RE: 2 or 3 wis =30 mana ROFLMAO
# Sep 12 2002 at 10:11 AM Rating: Default
obviously you failed math at school...

according to you, at level 25, 1 wis = 5 mana
according to your formula however ((1/5)+ 2) x 25 = 55 mana...

and at level 50, 1 wis = 10 mana
your formula ((1/5)+2) x 50 = 110 mana

You have the formula backwards, its actually closer to (level+5)/5 * wisdom

so at level 50 with 100 wisdom, (50+5)/5 * 100 = 1100 mana

notice this gives the exact same amount but the formula works at 1 wis or 10 wis, where the previous formula does not.

Also, there is no longer a cap above wisdom of 200, the amount of mana you get at level 50 for every point above 200 is around 6 mana/point. Not sure of the exact formula for that but I think its 1/2 of the normal one.

# Jun 08 2001 at 2:01 PM Rating: Default
Uh, in case ya didn't notice on the graphic above, that 30 mana is *in addition* to any extra mana you'd get from the wis..."seriously"!
RE: 2 or 3 wis =30 mana ROFLMAO
# Jun 24 2001 at 12:37 PM Rating: Good
He is responding to a post below, where a guy said he could get 30 mana from 2 or 3 wis, I have to agree that that us pretty unlikely. At level 50 you get 10 points per point of wis up to 200 wisdom, after that you may as well get mana items. This a great item for the mana and the saves.

# May 06 2001 at 8:58 PM Rating: Default
If I'm ever in a situation where I didn't want the 7 int and 7 str on my sapphire necklace this is what I'd want to wear. AC, HP, mana, and resists on this piece are all awesome for a neck slot item.
mana=wis
# May 03 2001 at 2:14 PM Rating: Default
Hmmm you would rather wear a BIM? hehe, thats like choosing a CGS over a strathbone shield because one has one more wis, 30mana is around 2 or 3 wis, so this item is actually very nice.
#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 25 2001 at 3:32 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I've managed to obtain all the drops for this quest, except for the sap in Wakening Lands.
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 25 2001 at 5:09 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Personally, I'd rather wear a blackened iron medallion, but I'm just a druid, and the wisdom and intelligence is nice, though the AC on this is nothing to scoff at either. I mean, find a neck item with AC that a druid can wear, and has wis.
RE: Blah
# Jun 21 2001 at 7:58 AM Rating: Decent
Actually now, for you there's better. Take a group to Runnyeye and try and kill the goblin wizard that spawns there for the Black Alloy Medallion. AC5 WIS5 INT5 - A nice upgrade for you BIM :)

I happened to nab the first one (to my knowledge) to be dropped on Tunare server right after they brought the servers back up
