The elusive Toxxulia Toadstool
# Nov 04 2008 at 5:00 AM Rating: Decent
Is there any way I can get a photo of this elusive Toxxulia Toadstool

I am a New to EQ I have a Lvl 8 Necro I have looked for maps that
might show the Loction, and I have looked for photos of the
Toxxulia Toadstool.

It seems to be either at the North west end, or the south east side.

Can anyone post a photo and map photo so I know what to look for
and where to find it.

Thankyou.

PS Stay safe, and Happy Hunting.

:)

I've been thinking this item was bugged because it kept not letting me cast it on some of my characters. Discovered the trick today:

If you have yourself targeted when trying to cast this you get the message: Your target does not meet the spell requirements. If you have nothing targeted it casts just fine. This was on a ranger, haven't tried with a pet class yet, but i'm guessing as long as you don't have yourself (or maybe another player) targeted then it should work.

They fixed the targeting issue with the current patch (Nov 20th) but the pet problems still exist. If you click off or lose this buff, your regular pet will poof.
Level 20 to attain is ridiculous

I have a few low lvl's, and i went about getting one for each of these last night.

Walk in the park at lvl 10 (literally), and i can imagine you could do it as an even lower lvl...
Regen
# Aug 10 2007 at 9:18 PM Rating: Decent
For pet classes -- As long as you aren't going to have regen effects removed from you by mobs.. like boil blood etc.. you wont have to worry about your main pet going poof.
Freemind spore - Lunar fungus...the same?

Perhaps a dumb question, but does the Freemind spore Earring familiar and that of the Lunar Fungus look exactly the same? Same size and color?

Also, I'm assuming the effect from the 2 items (the regen) is the same exact rate for both?

I never heard of the Lunar Fungus till tonight, was just wondering what the familiar looked like, thanks in advance for the reply.

Lunar Fungus effect is EB only
Freemind spore is regen and disease poison resists
The spells block each other (regardless of pets) so can only have one or the other on. Both last 6 hours, but drop when you zone.

The Lunar Fungus familiar does not look like the Freemind Spore familiar.

Freemind Spore is kind of green, Lunar Fungus is a bit smaller and red.

Don't know 'bout the regen rate, though...

Sporali Advisor does not stack with Arcane Wolf Familiar from the Direwolf Totem of Spirit.

Oh and FYI, clicking off either buff (Sporali Advisor or Arcane Wolf Familiar) will cause your pet to vanish.

This stacks with necro pet. Cast current reg. pet, target pet then click on earing. When I tryed it with out targeting pet I recieved the msg. about not more than one pet at a time.

The thing that I like about this over the Melee Totem is that it stacks with the Overhaste Ring. The Totem of Battle would be so nice if it would stack, but the Devs have stated on other boards that this was done on purpose. For me, the ring is more important to me for the extra haste and double attack bonus of the totem is not that big of a deal because I almost always have Ranger buffs..

Also.. I got this for my baby shammy alt and it is well recieved and I really like that it helps the regen and resists at a really low level.
Afraid not :(

I love this thing. I am so glad they finally made a useful pet melee classes can use. Kudos.

Well, there is also THIS, which is arguably far better for melee classes. They really should have made a clicky illusion item instead of a familiar, in my opinion.
Cool pet.

[be aware you may consider this a rant]
yeah i can understand your suggestion that the Direwolf Totem of Battle is better for melee classes .. at or above level 70.

Please keep in mind that the reward of the Freemind Spore Earring can be used by as low as level 15. Now nobody as far as i know gets a decent regen buff until at least in the 20's if not later. Rangers don't get a castable regen buff til like 54. where as if you do this tast/quest and get this reward you not only have a hp regen but also pluses to disease and poison resist. so this could somewhat help a level 15 or so PL themself in say paludal caverns where some of the mobs cast disease and poison spells. if anything else it has the regen with it.

and i'm sorry for saying this but at lower levels you really need all the help you can get for regening hp. yeah you could spend the money and buy Fungus Covered Scale Tunic, which isn't usable by all classes. notice that this is usable by all classes.

[end rant]
Cool pet.

Gotta agree with Gindorn, have to appreciate a rant that didn't say anything like "lol wat? u f'n noob!"

I appreciate the points you've made, and agree with you. This IS a nice item for lower-level folks. That being said, everyone's going to be level 70 or above eventually, right? So at best, it's temporarily useful, whereas an illusion that can't be cast by Enchanters would be fun for everyone now and later. Again, this is just my opinion, and I wanted to get it out there... I'm just a sucker for illusion clickies!

And I will admit to enjoying the novelty of a little sporali man following me around and "advising" me. I'd just rather be a sporali man with my double attack and regen-boosting wolf familiar following me. :)
Cool pet.

An excellent rant indeed :-) I only wish more posts were this intelligent and polite. Seems every thread has its share of rude morons degrading others while they make themselves look bad in doing so LOL

Thank you for reminding me there are intelligent people out there :-)
