I wonder if this is supposed to be a "jitte," which is essentially the Japanese version of the Sai, though they usually only had one tine.

Though sais and jittes weren't actually stabbing weapons, they were really used as small metal clubs. Constables carried them to subdue unruly ronin. :)

I would assume that this is supposed to be a jitte, based simply on the fact that a "jutte" does not have any historical record of existing, and their other choices for weapons all do (even if not accurately portrayed).

The nice thing about these is selling them to the merchant and buying a stack of bandages. They drop often enough to keep a front line fighter well stocked and skilled for Binding Wounds and thus saving practice points for weapon skills.
