looks kinda nasty, like orange-brown chain on my iksar. ive only got the gaunts so far (got 'em from King Gragnar) so im not sure if thats what the whole suit looks like. fun none the less. apparently there is the whole range of armor from a unique kind of cloth to the green leather, orange chain, to black plate (cold iron) then midnight scale (blue-purple chain with stats).

Go Verant, you finally made a decent dungeon with nice loot for the level :)

This stuff definately weighs 10 pounds. I have a Runed Scaled tunic and it has the same stats as this. It's just newbie ringmail with a little more interesting look.

As Dusty Burlap is Cloth and Soft Wicker is Leather, so Bamboo Splint is Ringmail. Of course by the time a young Paineelan cleric or sk gets to a level to loot these, he'll probably already have quite a few pieces of Ringmail from the molar quest. Still, I applaud Verant's design of this dungeon to ensure untwinked young Erudites were properly equipped for their level. Though wouldn't it just be simpler to set the merchant prices to a more realistic level?

No, it makes more sense that they intended it to weigh 10.0 just like Medium Ringmail Coat.

Looks to me like a lot of this stuff is just for the look. It'll be outgrown in a short time.

I think that's the idea (outgrowing it in a short time, that is.) If you're not twinking, though, this is a good, reasonably obtainable set of armor if you're from Odus, to wear in your teens until you can make your way to Permafrost and get some bronze, or until you do your armor quests (or just save up some cash.) I think it would be a fun experiment to bring up a group of new Erudite characters, un-twinks if you will, and have them cut their teeth on the Warrens and Kerra Ridge. In that context, this stuff looks pretty good.

All these classes can wear banded which has higher ac and can usually be afforded by lvl 10, or the LJ hide vest which is the same AC, 1wt, and +5 sta. Hope is sells good to merchants at least. Though it's kind of heavy for me to carry around in addition to my other gear.

I'm with you, this thing has the AC of chain and the weight of Fine Plate, if i'm not mistaken. Must be some mighty heavy bamboo. well thats my 2cp

As to your reply about banded its hard to get people to make banded to sell a lot of the times and Lockjaw is level 25 tough kill too with everyone around there pounding on him. Yeah its a newbie item thats heavy but it's a starting point till they can either afford better or get better on their own. Plus it's a nice new look to armor
