Dumb

People who look at an item and say look at the stats it's a >insert dumb class here< item are dumb and need to be erased from the boards if the ring / item has nice stats and everyone would like it it should be CAWU
Hello...

Look at the stats! It's OBVIOUSLY an enchanter first item... =)
looking for info, not crap

/sigh

Once again, I read the posts on this board and witness a a bunch of fools trying to find a way to justify that ALL uber loot is theirs for the taking.

End this pointless debate. Stop posting crap about who should get what! THAT IS NOT WHAT THIS BOARD IS FOR! I came here to find out about what tactics are used Inny...updating info from the new zone...others experience from a Hate raid. And what do I get? Nonsense. Crap. a TOTAL waste of time.

Go post your 'reasons' for why your the best elsewhere. While your at it...go try and learn about this game called Everquest. TRY to shove the fact that ALL CLASSES HAVE SOMETHING TO CONTRIBUTE into your tiny, singular, brain cell.

Stop wasting other peoples time, and subscription money for this web board. Basically...If you can't contribute something about HOW to get this, then let me invite you to STFU.

My post.

The new Hate is a much diferent zone. The Zone In seems to be a much different break-in now. (almost none) I went there with a druid, wizzy and a pally and we trioed most of the zone, even mini named. Exp was ok, most conned DB to a 65. Smallish aggro areas so trains were not a problem.

Nowever, the mini named are a very tuff spawn to get now. Easier zone, slower spawn rates. The trouble seems to be getting a group to spend the long hours in the zone to get a mini named to pop.

I havn't had the pleasure of actually seeing Inny. I hope to someday. Maybe he'll drop this ring! Maybe I'll have enough guild points saved up to win the bid!

AND I WON'T ENGAGE IN TELLING WHO CAN LOOT IT OVER ME! If one of my guildmates wins this, I'll be envious, but GLAD my guild has more firepower! TRY to think beyond your petty greed! When a member of your guild get a good item, you get to 'enjoy' that item too, in the results it produces FOR YOUR HUNTING! More damage or whatever...

I return you to your petty bickering....enjoy.

STFU flutterbye, if you read even half the posts on these boards you'd know its mainly just a bunch of "this item is better for druids because" kind of bs, not like making those kinds of posts effects anything in the slightest. Seriously, get a ****ing clue.
Dont forget about SKs!!
# Feb 26 2004 at 4:23 PM Rating: Default
Believe it or not, its better for SKs then any Warriors, also as stated if u can take down the new inny your wizzies/mages have ID4+.
The reason why I say its really nice for an SK

upto 20% on DD (any spear spell (dmg:1300+))
upto 20% on Taps (heals: 2400+)
upto 20% on HT (dmg:9788 maxed HT AAs + ID4)

PLUS

Channeling: +5%

Which would help any SK from getting interupted while attempting to FD. (5% is still 5% less u die).

PLUS
The basic stats Sta: +12, Int: +10, HP: +80, Mana: +110 ( thats 90+ hps, 210 mana.)

Some may laugh but it is good hands for any SK!!!

I see no reason for the constant arguement over who gets what item. Personally, I wouldn't bid for this ring, being a monk. Hp's are wonderful to have, regardless of where it comes from. But there is no way in hell I would deprive any needing casting class of this. Even hybrids. Channeling mod and ID4 says it all. I assume that anyone with the ability to do this encounter successfully would agree with me. Besides, there is much better out there, more suited for a melee. As far as which casting class gets it, well, it's up to them. Priority comes into play really....assuming they are on a dkp system with no loot council. But the point remains, this item isn't pinned to fit everyone, even if it does say all/all. There really is no need for bickering over this. When things like this drop on raids, I don't even think twice about bidding on it. And assuming the good majority of people out there agree with me, then they will be able to decide for themselves if this item will actually benefit their class, and be a viable upgrade, thus recognizing whether or not they should even think about bidding.
End the who gets this ring arguement now ...

Most wizzies I know want/have Fury of Solusek ... not ID4. If 3 wizzies outdamage an entire raid force then why wouldn't a raid force be 3 groups? 9 healers, 4 buffers/support, 2 tanks, and 3 wizzies? On long duration encounters I can say without a shadow of a doubt that as a necromancer cycling 7 dots (D. Plague, pyro, FPOK, BoT, Splurt, Horror, and Saryrn's Kiss) about 6 times is way more damage than a wizzy could ever dream about doing and never dip below 50m.

So maybe 3 necros could have a field day on a long duration raid encounter? No, I'm not naive enough to think 3 necros on a 20 minute raid encounter do more damage than the other 69 people on the raid.

Wizzies do crazy damage and there's no denying it and any class listed can get a huge benefit out of it. Sure it has focuses and a large +mana but so does almost every all/all item in the game. ANY class can get large benefits out of this ring even pure melees. This isn't a WIS and Int caster only ring with +20 wisdom and no intelligence. That's obviously going to a WIS caster. This ring has stats that would give ALL classes a nice boost and that's why it is all/all.

True, I do already have ID4 on my belt, but I only wear the belt for the effect. The belt itself is pretty gimp, most casters will agree. This ring would free up the belt slot for us, and most definately, this is worth a wizards time, as your Fury of Solusek is limited to fire based spells. I would rather all my damage spells get a 10-20% bonus than just my fire based spells get a slightly larger bonus.

Woah o.O...where to start...bottom to top!

"Which would you rather have improved - the once per fight lifetap or the steady stream of damage that wizzies put out?" - Once per fight? You cleary aren't familiar with the necro class~. Lifetap is a source of DPS that is often used inbetween DoTing/FDing(often used over neurotoxin due to more friendly resists), it also comes in quite handy as a source of healing from nasty AEs.
"...it can turn a 850 point lifetap into a 1020 point lifetap. That is living or dieing in some encounters." - I really hope you're not depending on an extra 170(if even) points of healing to save your life.
"Necros have a huge say in this item that +12 STA is extra mana for the cleric and extra mana for nuking" - HP does not translate into mana in a raid situation for a necro, you should not be losing any, or at least not a noticable amount of HP because there will most likely be mana song playing, or you can simply as for replenishment in addition to SD if you're that desperate -_-.
"This should go to whomever has the points to spend on it :)" - Oh how I loathe DKP systems, items 'should' be prioritized, not just which ever person that has points/can equip it should have an equal chance at it.
"it is quite often that 2 or 3 wizzies will outdamage your entire raid force combined, including the Rogues and Monks, Druids and Necros...." - Monks? Monks are one of the most nerfed classes in the game, I have no clue why you mentioned them as a reference to a DPS class, the marginally out DPS a warrior. Ermm druids, they don't do an incredible amount of DPS either. Besides, druids often have a more important role depending on situation to situation, ex: healing page tank, curing/healing random people due to AEs, patch healing...etc. And I really hope that 2-3 wizards wouldn't outdamage an entire raid force, yes they do tons of DPS, but not that much =p.
"hell, weapon procs too!who wouldnt like an extra 20% damage on a weapon proc regardless on what class is doing the procing." - ......if anyone would get an ID sort foci for weapon procs, there's seriously something wrong with the guild's loot policies o.O

DangerousMonk - Apparantly you've only been exposed to goob wizards. A good wizard, can chain cast through the whole fight...nuke, click elem pants, nuke, click elem pants...
"since wizards already have such large nukes that they deserve it the least and instead it should go to the people with the small nukes since it would make them better." Well this logic is kinda messed up -_-. 20% of a larger amount is a larger amount.

who 2 go 2
# Jan 15 2004 at 10:40 PM Rating: Default
well obviously this would go best on anyone ranging from a warrior to a wizard.. its all/all.
for who its best on.. ANYONE who has a nuke. dont BS over who has more or better nukes.. anyone who nukes have as much right to it as anyone else.. hell, weapon procs too!who wouldnt like an extra 20% damage on a weapon proc regardless on what class is doing the procing. 80hp and 12sta is better for a warrior then anyone else.. but does that mean anyone else wouldnt like it? same goes for the effect. bottom line is - all/all means its good for anyone so shut up pls.

"Which would you rather have improved - the once per fight lifetap or the steady stream of damage that wizzies put out?" What steady stream of damage? I've been on alot of raids.... Never seen a wizard put out a steady stream of damage. I've seen wizards overnuke, get summoned, and die 1 minute into the fight, seen wizards wait untill under 20% health and nuke away.... Seen wizards sit on thier butt the entire fight and port people out afterwards... Never seen a steady stream of anything eminating from a wizard except BS. As for who can use this the most...... There is no class that has the most right to it. I could say that since wizards already have such large nukes that they deserve it the least and instead it should go to the people with the small nukes since it would make them better. Could say it should go to the necro lifetaping, leeching, and feeding mana to the clerics.... There is no one class that deserves this the most. Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluding themselves

#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 02 2004 at 4:54 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I think this item is obviously a warrior item, with its 12 sta and 80hp. Monk comes to mind as well because of the low weight.

#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 30 2003 at 12:05 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Wow, what a bitter little abused orphan you must be. Did a wizard kill your mother or something? With raid buffs going any wizard will deal more damage than pretty much anyone if they have arranged their focus items and mana regen correctly. And in group mobs die too fast to have a melee's slow damage build up and we shine there too, and the melee upgrades are OVER and next epansion we will just get better damage. Enjoy your uselessness...

You have obviously had a few bad experiences with Wizards in the past but your are increadably wrong...

Back in the old days, before LoY and the Raid function (Oh was it really so long ago~), if you were in the Wizzys's Group, you got the exp, no questions asked. There is a huge difference between a good wizzy and a bad one... an effort. What your experiencing is the same as a Tank that sits there and does NOTHING for like 5 fights, just is afk... and then runs up for no apparent reason.

Anyways I don't think its nice for you to flame wizzys just because you have had bad experiences with your lackadaisical crappy wizzies, it is quite often that 2 or 3 wizzies will outdamage your entire raid force combined, including the Rogues and Monks, Druids and Necros....

As for loot rights, SHUT UP ALREADY! Let the guilds that get this deal with loots nobody cares about what you level 20s think level 65s should do~....
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 24 2003 at 11:07 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) i agree should go to wizzy first but i think a druid should get b4 a mage but thats just my 2cp, although would be nice for anyone who can use effect grats to anyone who gets

This should go to whomever has the points to spend on it :)

That being said, there's no one class that could make the most use of this. Any hybrid/caster/priest class would find this very useful. Pure melee would get less use out of it, but it's still got impressive STA, HP and saves.

What ever. Necros have a huge say in this item that +12 STA is extra mana for the cleric and extra mana for nuking.....thus the improved damage iv

Remember, lifetaps are effected by improved damage. Also, while soloing and sometimes grouping, necros are forced to channel much more often than a mage or a wizard. I offtank in many groups I am in just because I can. There is absolutly no reason a necro should not want this. If, for no other reason, than the fact that it can turn a 850 point lifetap into a 1020 point lifetap. That is living or dieing in some encounters.

The 20% is variable. In other words it will do *up to 20%* for a given cast, not always 20%.

Lifetaps are a spell line...

With ID4, a 61+ necro could LT for over 1k, every 5 seconds. In some encounters, that type of healing may be a good thing.

There is also a necro AA that does a massive LT, but the name and fx escape me atm.

Every class that can nuke would love this ring. I know my ranger would take it over a war crested ring any day.
RE: Good for everyone...
# Jan 28 2004 at 3:36 PM Rating: Default
Theft of Life is what you are thinking of, it doubles the healing portion of a lifetap.

It's possible to critical strike the DD and critical heal the lifetap for a grand total of a whoping 3400 unfocused. I've heard a 3800 is possible with IH4 and ID4.
I disagree
# Aug 24 2003 at 12:06 PM Rating: Default
Which would you rather have improved - the once per fight lifetap or the steady stream of damage that wizzies put out? If this was an improved afflication item with stats then I'd agree. Why wizzies get listed on this is beyond me.
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 21 2003 at 6:03 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Necro item all the way baby!! Improved damage means improved lifetaps))Sometimes Wizzies should just defer)~
