The Ashengate Seal  

 

If you do not have the VoA expansion, you cannot right click the seal when it's in a bag.

You must put the seal into a bag slot first, then you can right click to cast it.

Although the item says "any slot," a bag slot is the ONLY slot it will go into, and it must be equipt to use.

The Ashengate Seal is used to cast a freeze Spell on the Two guards that are posted just before the Ashengate zone-in area, so that you and a full group can run past unharmed... It can be a laboreous quest and takes a strong group to complete it and more than a few hours of work. Although it is the easiest way to gain entry to this zone, it isn't the ONLY way. The Guards are not pera-rooted and can be kited away from the gates while the rest of the group gets through. Once your group is in, a Mage really come in handy about now to CotH that person into a safe area (to the right as you run through the gates, on the wall). If there is a SK or FD puller with you he/she can also get you through by kiting till everyone gets in and FD his/her way inside the gates.
