2013 and that info (all 3) is still relavent. And thanks Reyla for at least leading toward the hint of tradeskill uses for this item, which lead Aneyo to post the links, after doing what we all did... searched this item to see what we can do. What he found was your hint... in the form of a not so subtle attempt at a flame. I think it is wonderful I can visit a site I haven't in years, by getting back into a game I haven't gotten into in years, and information is still good.. meh to that.. the info is better.

smithgib, you are an enigma.

You have hundreds of posts like this and many of them flabbergast your readers.

Steppes ore is used in a smithing recipe with a trivial of 262 making it a very valuable commodity that will stay valuable even after several expansions have past.

Posting how many coppers a vendor paid you for them is neither helpful nor meaningful for gameplay.

Kathleen, it would also be helpful to tell readers that the two recipes that Steppes ore is used for is Artisan Ceramic Clay and Smith Ceramic Clay which can be used to make componenents for a higher-end charm with nice stats for the bearer. You might also point them towards http://eqtraders.com for more information on the charms and developing tradeskills in EQ. It would be nice if smithgib offered more constructive information along with the vendor rates. Regards.

I disagree Reyla and it would seem Alla does too since they provide a header looking for some of exactly the same information smithgib provides.
While I don't need to anymore, I remember when I financed all my equipment upgardes by buying and selling in the Bazzar (not to mention the tunnel or Freeport bank depending where you're from). While it doesn't apply to this particular item. How does one know that, other than testing it themselves potentially at a large loss if unknown.
I appreciate the information conviently provided here of how much a merchant pays, sells for, and less so but what other servers are getting from buyers or looking for from sellers if a Trader is part of your game play. [I used to buy for instance Platinum and Velium Fire Wedding Rings some times as low as 25p and get instant cash from a Merchant of over 100 and 200pp profit respectively. Back then for someone non-guilded and ice giants etc. perma-camped. That was a quicker and obviously safer way (no Vet. Awards and an abundance of Clerics hanging around a Lobby then)to pay the way to being able to upgrade my equipment.
Or in particular starting a new character on a new server without knowing anyone. That was my almost instant bank roll to start up a Trader with bigger things, and fill each item slot with at least something before going out to hunt. I knew the prices others didn't thru experience, that was the advantage. Didn't matter that the stats looked like junk for the days standard or someone gave them to the seller for free, or the person didn't check first - the Merchant most times could be counted on to give a set price regardless]
Thanks smithgib for providing a rather thankless service to some of us, that is too trivial to many of us to want to take on. I'll take too much information over not any when I am looking for it anyday.
