Dropped in Direwind Cliffs, but I can't remember what mob it dropped off of. Maybe an ooze?

this dropped on a Yellow Ooze in Sunder for us today

I can verify now that ash covered items also drop from yellow oozes and sulphurous oozes in Sunderock Springs, after farming Sulfurog (and never seeing him spawn) for 6 hours, acquired 10 scrap metals, 6 chain links, 3 hides and 3 swatches, all from the various oozes.
Just wondering which mobs in Direwind drop these pieces? I hunted there often but never seen them drop. Thanks.

I got one at the SoS camp also. Was there around 6 hours, just one dropped.

I saw em drop from either the gnolls or golems while camping SoS for legging mold. Not very commonly though. Think I put in around 10 hours or so camping legs for people and had like 2 of these drop. Other Ash covered items droped here as well.
Anyone know name of completed Plate armor? Or the stats? I'm a pally fyi :)

I had this ash covered scrap metal drop off a "hot spring scaldling" today.
And I sent a picture of the item's link box. Wonder why it's not up yet.

I had an "ash covered scrap metal" drop off of a "hot spring scaldling" today.

These are for the plate classes armour quest given from Tenish in Crescent Reach. Hand him x# of these and a specific mold to receive a piece of gear.
Helm= 3x Ash Covered Scrap Metal
1x An Ancient Helm Mold
Legs= 4x Ash Covered Scrap Metal
1x An Ancient Leggins Mold (It is meant to be spelled that way)
Will update as I aquire more molds that use this piece.

Camped the oozes today just to test.
Was there for 5 hours and only had 1 Ash Covered Chain Link drop. No other pieces. =(
I did see them going for 10 to 20k in the bazaar on Bertoxxulous though.....so may be a decent farming opprotunity.
I did get 5 helm molds(different classes) and 5 pairs of Sunderspring Bootsthough, so it wasn't all wasted time. The guildies are happy.

And a slight correction, total needed for a full armor set would be 9 Frosted & 11 Ash Covered (Wrists are not lore so you can get 2).
Although I don't know where all the molds drop, it seems they drop in the zones where you can farm the complimenting turn-in. These are the molds I know of so far:
Chest - Icefall Glacier
Legs - Direwind Cliffs
Wrist - Sunderock Springs
Helm - Sunderock Springs
Gauntlets - Sunderock Springs
So I'm guessing that the Boots & Vambraces are off mobs in The Steppes and/or Icefall Glacier.

We have also seen the ash covered items drop in Direwind and the Steppes.
What class are you? This drop is not for all plate classes as I am a Bard and I need Frosted Scrap Metal.
The ash covered and frost covered are for 2 different quests. I beleive the ash covered is for the first teir and the frost for the second.

That is incorrect. You will need bothfrost and ash covered metal for your armor set. Different pieces just require different metal. For example, the chest piece will require frosted, but the leg piece will require ash covered.

Also drops off the ooz at the north end of the zone in sunderock, have gotten two off them and have only killed a few. *smiles*
