I have been looking for one of these for weeks, and it's never up for sale in bazaar on Kane Bayle...until today...and the person has it listed for 80k. Is it just me, or, is this price just really out of the ball park?
I sold one today on the Bertoxxulous server for 4500pp. I've seen it up several times between 5k and 10k. Anything more than 7k nowadays I would say is overpriced.

Yea... I have been seein it for 5-9k and today when my DRU made 46 I decided to see if anyone had one so I could go play and some fool has it marked at 50k... I dont think its EVER been that much... I think a few people have missed their reality pill... heh

Everyone is talking about this staff for quadding, I'm thinking it would make a good group item too. I duo with a ranger. On a Drogmor I dould click the staff during fight, on a mount that means I'm medding and doing free damage. Throw a DOT, snare and DS in the beggining, I should be FM at the end by just clicking the staff during the fight.

You all need to take a really carefull look at the price data. This staff is for sale on most servers for 3,000pp. Someone placed a price of 18kpp for this item. It has not sold for that as a normal price for almost 2 years. That changed the balance of average pricing. Report it please, since I cant.

As we get older, and more... and more disgusting gear drops. We are able to solo mobs that used to take a whole group, or... and with charming sometimes even more then 2 groups can take. I have a 39 druid, I know I cant take this guy yet... but is there anything thats charmable (animal) in the zone... and can he be soloed when your looking at lvl 50->65? I have a very high lvl druid that would most likely be excited to help be farm this guy. The reason is, at my current level this staff is worth my halfling weight in gold. The idea of a mana-less quad strike, +7 wis... is just disgusting - please ANY info on takign this guy? as opposed to debating grammar errors?

What items/spells/whatever will reduce the cast time for this staff? I tried the Naki Studded Ring which works for my memorized spell but not this staff.

No item will reduce the cast time of a clicky item... You can however get an extended range II+ item to make the range bigger if you are having problems getting it off in time.

last night in OOT i got one of them off a druid for 3k and a item or 2 went back to OOT with my druid and started the septers at 46 with sow and regan + a few items to lower that cast time i was getting 1 and a half blue a kill off 4 septers got to thinking my cast time was down to 5 i think and i went to the cyclops island and started them and OMG i know my 55 beastlord was getting good exp off them but 2 and a half blue a kill not bad to a halfling druid i think. i told the guy i got it from that i had got a PC on it for 10k and he wanted it back but to bad done mine for EVER! i will use this thing to 60+

I dont know if this was posted earlier...I tried to read all the previous posts but I got bored so heres my scoop, just checked em out in bazaar, says Druid only. I suppose this was nerfed sometime......oh yeah.....this would SUCK for a monk.

Was always druid only. When beastlords were introudced, it appeared for a little bit that almost all druid armor had BST appended to it, and allakhazam made that assumption to help jumpstart the introduction of BST gear into the database. Over time, those items which were never actually changed are slowly being corrected, as this should be.
With Extended Range you can just barely get off a cast without getting hit. Before they put in the focus items I never really did any serious quading with the staff since the cast time was so long that the mobs would always reach me before it went off. If you try it, watch out, because it will be very, very close, but in the end it will generally work.
It depends on what mobs you are fighting as different mobs move at different speeds. I used this to with very good effect to quad kite spirocs in tim deep and ulthorks in EW, but found that it was cutting it too close for comfort for wyverns in CS and for Giants everywhere ( i tried the ones at the fort in GD no go they move too fast) and was also too long a casting time to try quading most animals like the various ones in EW and the direwolves in GD. just depends on the mob speed.

Actually, and Extended Range 2 item will work with this staff as the spell is below lvl 44.
Also, distance from the mob when the spell fires using an Extended Range item varies depending on the mobs your fighting.
I routinely used this staff to quad wyverns, and as long as I had my moonstone ring equipped, I had plenty of time to get running again before getting hit. WITHOUT the ring was another story, I had to make sure I started moving as soon as the cast bar hit zero or I was feelin the hurt.
Also, a friendly tip, that will add fuel to the "Druids Suck!" argument, with KEI, using Lightning Blast and Ensnare, assuming there were enough wyverns up, I could quad one set of wyverns with Lightning Blast, grab another set, quad them with Lightning Blast, have enough mana left over to completely ensnare another set, use the staff to kill off another round of 4 (yes ensnare will last long enough if you have your head on straight) and have regened enough mana during the third quad to ensnare and Lightning Blast another set.

My druid was given this staff a long time ago and I never really used it. Last night, while quadding raptors in TD, I decided to try it out.

need to be lvl 45 or higher to use this...some fool sold it to me at 42 and i just wasted 10k on it and the guy wouldn't refund it back after saying it proc'd at 40

Just bought one from a guy not selling his for 9k, he was reluctant, but after having bone handled scintar in velk's lab, this is perfect, out of spidey/dog range, yet not enough to get aggro, yet enough to do a bit of dmg on em manafree with my entire gear, invis, lev (useless in velk, blah), chloro, dot, snare, group wolf, now nuke... nice...

Is Velks an outdoor zone? This staff only works outdoors from what I am to understand.

GOD I LOVE THIS STAFF. I traded a glowing black stone for it on Povar. No mana cost right click lightening strike. I can quad ulthorks without hardly ever going OOM with this OMG this is an awesome staff. I sacrifice darkelf necros to you Tunare thank you for this AWESOME staff. /em prostrates himself before his god in eternal gratitude.

Well I bought this Staff on Karana for 4366pp.
All the money I had at the time lol.
I am a druid lvl 50 I had to sacrafice 15 wis to wear this wepon (Testament of vaneer +10 and Dark ember + 5)the following account will 100 fold justify why it is a Great Stick :)
First Night I killed 57 Ulthorks in eastern wastes non stop with out going OOM in fact I never got lower than 50% mana.
The Ulthorks I killed drop 5 tusks and I bought 1 for 40pp and got given 2 from a vahshir who needed help looting a griffin egg.
I handed my tusks to the cheif and Got 1 blue diamond and 1 Star Ruby Earring so right there on my first go I paid for my stick.
Back to the non stop action I have worked out a trick with the staff in relation to the slow cast time.
At first the mobs would hit me (from the time they were in range till the time the lightning hit about 10 seconds)and 4 angry ulthorks would sometimes strip a bubble of red off me. OUCH
But my roommate was watching and she said can I have a go I think I can see a way not to get hit.
Her first go she was hit (I thought nahh there is no way not to get hit) THEN she pulled it off a direct hit 4 x 184 and no hits to herself WOW.
I said do it again.
She did and again no loss of health.
Then she explained what she saw from a 3rd persons perspective.
The cast bar has a graphic on the first and the last bubble.
Run far enough away from the mob till when your facing them and rapidly clicking your mouse button it says your target is out of range.
Once the spell starts to cast keep your eyes on the bar and as soon as the bar drains to the last buble get ready to move back wards.
As soon as the buble drains equal to the graphic on the last bubble(about 1/5 of a bubble)run backwards the spell still gets off and you don't get hit works everytime with Ulthorks.
It will take some practice but yes you can get away without being hit.
Other mobs I have quad kited are
Wooly Rhinos (can not do this without being hit
Ulthork Man-o-wars Yes but there a long fight
Wyverns in cobalt scars Yes killed with out getting hit 4 wyverns = 1 blue xp bub for 50 Dru :P
This weapon ROCKS its worth 20kpp in my mind
Tonight I will quad kite the Dorfs in BB and let you all know what happened with them. If its doable youl see me killing 4 guardsa at a time in and around Akanon lol XP for ME :P

Nice post, didn't even consider taking down ulthorks nice and easy with this. The staff is also great if you're quadding something and run out of mana before the last blast. Just run them around a bit more firing off the staff and no more worries. :)

Hey Troggy, as you may have guessed by all the posts, the staff is a click effect (maybe you should get one). Also, he said he was going to test the staff on the dorfs. It is not a huge jump in logic to conclude that if the test is successful, he will MOVE to gnome town.

BTW, I want this staff. Mana free snare, dot, regrowth, and now ae, what more could a druid want (beside fewer druids to compete with /jk)

Um, NO ! The Lumi Staff has a RIGHT CLICKABLE / Mana Free effect ! That means that you RIGHT CLICK it ..... It is NOT A PROC ! You do not melee with it to get the effect you RIGHT CLICK on it. I have been using mine since lv 46. Trust me !

Just bought this last night for 6k on Karana. The effect is right clickable not a proc and can be triggered upon reaching level 47.

No i was unable to use it at level 46. Perhaps you are confused with ES vambraces, they are usable at level 46.
ES Vambraces clicked at 45 (standard Kunark armor click) and Lumi. staff at 46 for me.

I think I've found the next thing im going to try and buy. ES vambs, Tunare Warders Symbol and this will stop me using mana ever again, well maybe not, but I'd still love to have one of these. I can live with the slow cast and the melee stats of it arent all that bad either.
Is the proc on this triggered or random? The description above says random. I just want to make sure before I spend the plat on it.

I havent gotten lucky enough to find one yet but OMG I love this staff. A friend has loaned me his. I have found a way to use this non stop pull for me. Cast time is just a little too long for quad kiting. I snare the mob. use my lvl 5 tiny root and ES arms to dot. Then nuke away at it..all in all takes me about 5 mana in all. VERY handy.

YES! Today when i was fighting in DL i saw someone selling this and they said they wanted to buy eboots so i asked him if he wanted to trade the staff for my boots and he said okay! I cant wait to use the effect. I'm only lvl 44 and i got it right when i dinged to 43 so a few more lvls to go! I'm using my friends PKT while she uses this staff and she dosent wanna give it back, hehe *grin*

With this and my elder spiritists vems I can kill anything I can root with almost no mana left. The cast time is actually 10 seconds, not 12, that is still pretty long but I found that I can get the cast off on any mob that cannot outrun sow. If a mob can outrun sow, then this can only be cast if they are rooted, its pretty good and not breaking root though. I use the higher level lighting spell when quading but at over 200wis I still run out of mana sometime. So I cast this a couple times after I have them down a bit and then I will have enough extra mana if a need to snare a jump in MOB. I'm in my 50's so I need to resnare all mobs when kiting only with this but it can be done. I kited 4 Rygorr elites with this starting with only one bulb of mana so it can be done.
I would buy this before I bought Golden eboots given the choice, very valuable overall. But get the ES vems first they are much cheaper now and also very good.

Woot i got one of these yesterday while i was in "The Crypt" (or 4d as its known on Bristlebane) i recently mastered the art of quad kiting and with this i think im gunna own Cobalt scars! ... with there really being NO drawback with this item sure it has long cast time but you wont use that much mana anyways haha! well im just proud to get this item

This staff is increddicle for grouping i still use my cone and charred guardian shield but when im soloing i can kill literally any mob that doesnt summon or have 100% magic resist with it . Anyway i was down in sebilis on my rogue friend when he went out to dinner for an hour and this thing droped the cleric won the roll on it but before my friend told him i was a 55 druid and the cleric was nice enough to pass up his turn for loot for me so there you go theres no downside to this staff.... i suppose its hard to quad kite with it but i did raptors with it already without getting hit you just need to get the farthest away from them as you can and still be in casting range. Anyway if you manage to get your hands on one of these you'll never do anything but root bomb. Good luck drops in the crypt in sebilis off skeletal barons (common mobs) but rare drop.

This item is rightclickable. You click, it casts. I think they call that "Triggered."

I forgot to mention that it works at level 46 like pretty much all the kunark Triggered-Effect items.

I don't know how useful this effect would be. I am only 36 now and I have trouble casting slow spells on snared mobs. I tried to charm Grimfeather and I couldn't get the spell off because once he was in range of the spell, there wasn't enough time to cast without him reaching me.
I would imagine that most things run faster as you get higher level and 12 seconds is a looong time. You can forget about rooting multiple mobs and casting it on this, it's difficult enough to root one and nuke at it since nukes break roots so well. I knew there had to be a drawback to this thing :(

... this may be the ulimate soloing item for druid kind. Just root a mob and snare it. Or vice versa. Then click away. When root breaks it is easily reapplied since the mob is still snared. Unless it's nerfed, this item value has just increased mightly.

I as grouped with a druid tonight who had one and it was working for him and he is 47. so its soon, the only drawback is the casting time is 12 seconds. and the roots cost alot to cast and only does the lvl 29 spell. you can cast the low lvl root thought, I was getting it to stick kinda good with spirocs which are about 45. but with higher lvl mobs 50+ this item is not going to be very effective.

The effect of this staff is right-clickable.
That means a 180-200 pt. AE spell, at the cost of no mana,only the casting time. O yeah, its unlimited charges too. Ive seen it sell for over 30k. Can only hope i get one of these some day.
