So, my pets wont take this any more? does this mean its not needed? why has the spell been left in if no race can use it, and pets wont use it either? Same with the belts.. of course they still take the weapons but all the other pet toys a waste now?

I'd assume you are trying to give it to a pet you have summoned while using a Pet Focus item (Enhanced Minion). Focused Mage pets come with the Mask automatically (and the other summoned items) so it refuses the 'extra' mask you are trying to give to it.
So would this now end the debate about whether pets use accuracy or attack since they have their attacks numbers calculated differently than players, or just makes the stats possibly useless?
