how long does the quest usually take?
A single battle you have won, but so quick to think that this will be the end? I, like fear, am eternal, and in your dreams, I shall forever haunt.

ok heres the deal ladies and gents.

yes the lens still drops. 2 places..
1 inside re.. dont recomend going there. as it can be dangerous. and too many walls around you. also those anoying gobbys will attack you if you sit down to med

2 behind re theres a zone called gorge of king xrobb. or sumthing like that.(canever remember the name).. broxx sopawns there. BUT he is either a long time spawn. or has ph's..

i killed him in the gorge. since it is much easyer. and i am able to move around more. also because i am a druid. and most of my good spells that i need to kill him. i cannot use in RE.

what i did to spawn him is. sit back away from the evil eyes. med till fm. then kill both of them. they are fairly easy if you are up in the 30's

how i killed Borxx. this guy is a anoying ****.. dont wanna mess with him... first off. med to fm. then heres what i did.
1. snare him
2. run back and let his pet follow me backa little
3. root the pet.
4. run a while. with Borxx behind you. wanna get him as far away from the pet as possible. with thought time to at least hurt him bad before the root wears off
5. root borxx. run back a little. dd,dd,root,dd,dd,root,dd,dd,root keep doing that till he drops or root wears off his pet
6. by now he should be dead. or the pet should be attacking you.. if the pet is attacking you. root it. stand back and cast 1-2 expulse summoned. will take him right out.
7. finish off what evers left.
8. loot.
9. TADA!
10. go get drunk and jump off kelenith a couple o times

Recharging the Staff

2 posts I'm a Barbarian and a bit thick-headed...I don't understand...can the staff be recharged or not? If only the "Tinkered Staff" can be recharged how do I know if I have a "Tinkered Staff" or not? Do you have to be a Tinker to combine the Mana Battery and the Staff in the box? <sigh> My head hurts...please help.

I've heard an ugly rumor from several people that this quest is no longer in game. Anyone know for sure if that's true or not?

I am curious why some people have things like "Sage" or "Schoolar" or "Guro" after their name? Just wondering how you get it.

If you're talking about the titles on the message board, you have a ranking from Alakhazam's based on the average score of your posts. If you post something stupid or off-topic, people will often rate the post poor just to make the score filter skip it. If you post good helpful info, people will usually give it a high score. A default score is given to all your posts based on the average, so if someone posts too many idiotic things, sooner or later thier initial post score will be so low, that the post will be skipped by the filter before anyone is forced to read it :)

The Lenes still are droped for this quest

First and formost....the lens still drops here. With the changes made, there are only two Evil Eyes here. After the war Borxx died, but his two companions lived and where captured. They are very easy to find, just go to the Captured Evil Eye room, and there you will find are...guess what...two captured evil eyes. But watch out they charm and you have to widle down the goblens as well. I recommend having a large group just for that room. Not like the rest of Runnyeye after all the changes where mid 20's can roam the area in very small group, this particular spot (when fully spawned out) can be a challange. I also recommend getting some kind of Caster to keep your group from getting charmed. If you can do this, then the situation can be a little more under control and you don't have to worry about your tank or you beating up on your group.

In terms of whether this weapon is worth the risk, especially if you are in your 30's, I would have to say least for the Priest class. There are better weapons for this class, at a lesser cost to you. But on the other hand, if your in the pure caster class or in a priest class, and your not to concerned over the melee portion, then this is a 3 and a half star weapon for you, as long as you follow my advice, the room should be straight forward.

How tp use Mana Batteries!

Alright, i see that most of youw ant to know hwo to use mana batteries.... being the tinker that i am... i know this.

Go to one of the pirate camps in ice clad ocean(velious only), and buy a CLASS 5 MANA BATTERY (ONLY CLASS 5) from a certain gnome. Alright, now, either go to buy a toolbox from a merchant in the steamfont windmills or from a guy on the pirate camp (dont know if they sell the toolboxes there, though).... Put the staff and your CLASS 5 MANA BATTERY in the toolbox and hit combine. Tah duh!....

(if class five dont work, try the others, but class five seems to be the only functional battery for most tinkered equipment.
Once upon a time... there was a gnome. I am that gnome.

This is the correct way to recharge any tinkered Watchman Plate items. However, the staff is not tinkered - you'll get the "these 2 items..." message.

what kind of wrong minded chanter would want this staff.... when u can get a crude stein and like a rod of insidious glamour and get 27 charisma (?)

What kind of wrong minded enchanter would want 27 charisma, when they could get a decent weapon that adds a little to int and mana.

At lower levels, CHA doesn't do a damn thing for an enchanter, as you'll never find a group that wants to bother with assist and mez. At higher levels, CHA makes no difference because you get low resist mez and fixed charm spells.

So sure, theres a little use in the middle. Enjoy that 1-2% bonus you get from 27 charisma.
RE: sucks
# May 26 2001 at 5:39 PM Rating: Default
Sure, lower levels would want this, but I use a rod of insidous glamour and crude stein. I have over 180 charisma and at 35 could even mez stuff 40+. So dont tell me charismas not important when I see other high enchanters squandelling mana trying to mez the same thing. heres a thought though, what good does mana do when you cant land a mez?
# May 05 2001 at 5:01 AM Rating: Excellent
I don't know if anyone pointed this out, I just skimmed over the posts, but the thing is this:

The sentinel does not follow you. You can leave the sent where you're standing, and go anywhere in the zone and you'll get messages from the original spot.

Unfortunately, if something spawns on it, and doesn't move, it give no message, so it useless for keeping track of most spawns.

Well, I for one always hate logging on to this site and seeing some yahoo talk about how much a certain piece of gear or spell effect sucks, but...

I truly do not see the purpose of this spell. I find it somewhat annoying when someone casts it near me, but usually just move unless their doing it on purpose to spam people. Also, after level 35, this spell is almost completely useless, IMHO (but I am a Ranger, and we're not known for massive med times), as you no longer have to look at the book when Medding. Before level 35, this spell is really only usefull if you're soloing in a real unfriendly area. I, and I think any decent tank, always make it a point to watch out for monsters, which is the sole effect of this spell.

Anyways, this staff is great for casters, just don't expect to be making many friends if you're after it for the effect.

Used Sentinel to escape being ganked by 5 attackers. Was on way back from guk to freeport carying 50 to 100pp. Was jumped by a team of PK'ers. As a cleric I used divine aura to bag and activated Sentinel. It lagged em out so bad I was able to gate to freedom! or at least it assisted my ability not to get interupted.

"there are no usless spells, just spells that need a creative caster"

Using a septor now, so gave to a new wiz a created, at level 5 he gets almost 2 bubbles extra mana LOL
