I can't stand parsing numbers. If dw'ing this with Velium Swiftblade which would be better in primary slot for pure damage?

This thing is way overpriced at 2k.

I tried shifting one of these on Drinal for the best part of two weeks. Started at 4k and eventually gave it away to a guild member.

Lammies are down to 2k now as a guide, even though they aren't pally useable. Centi ls's are now 2.5k though and in my opinion is a much better weapon. What's the point of guard anyway? Pallies have better buffs by the time this thing eventually procs and bards have far better weapons to chose from.

If anything, this should go for 500pp to 1k.

As of this date (01/28/04) there were 3 for sale in the Bazaar (Karana server) for 200pp. I bought one for my Bard. I think it's an excellent 1HB for him to skill up on, at a very good price. :)

In the off hand, where ratio is better than speed, this is a fine weapon. Keep your speedy weapons in the mainhand for the damage bonus and a good ratio'd weapon in the other. As for the proc, I can't speak for paladins, but I've had Guard stack with any other buffs I'm ever given. Then again, a bard proc'ing a JStick stacks with enchanter Tash, sp bard proc stacking has always been a bit weird (but benefically so). Anyway, it's worth using just until you get the proc and switching out if you wish. An extra 20AC never hurts :)

so last night i was with a friend and we were swapping gear to tradeskill...all in all i dropped her weapons bag and this was in it. I came to Alla to chek on proice and it said 10.8K OMG!! I nearly had a heart attack. Ive never had 10K in myt life!

We went to bazaar and i found it for 1K and i was relieved.

This morning i came here to post the 1K price and my internet did some weird muliple post thing and i have like a million posts for 1K now. do you know if Alla can fix that (not thats its really bad, after all...it brought the 10K down to the right price!)

One of the best off-hand Bard weapons.
What level does this weapon proc?
# Apr 10 2002 at 9:11 PM Rating: Decent
I'm a level 44 Bard and this weapon does not proc yet. I was assuming that the weapon would proc at level 45, since alot of higher end weapons/armor proc at that level. I was suprised to find that the level of it's proc is unknown on this web page and a few others.

Finally made 50 with my bard and Now this weapon procs. Very nice to have that extra 20 AC if there is no cleric casting anything higher in your group.

it is Procing for my bard at lvl 42....
bards
# Apr 07 2002 at 2:23 PM Rating: Decent
this weapon is much better for bards than it is for pallys becuz pallys can cast guard so the proc is obselete... but the ratio is still sweet for anyone. <<<BEST DEAL EVER>>> picked it up on terris thule for 3.7k for my bard... i think its worth 8-10k on this server!

better than a jade mace, but monks can't use it.

This is a great bard item, not sure if its that good for pallys though. Considering that pallys are meant to be tanks, they really ought to be able to deal a bit more damage than this thing will allow them to. Pallys should stick to 2handed weapons.
RE: No monks
# Aug 28 2001 at 6:28 AM Rating: Decent
Pally's are meant to take dmg and not to mainly dish dmg. Therefor the best option for pally's is the use of an one handed weapon and an shield. This is an GREAT pally item.

While I agree that pally damage basically sucks, we can still put out some decent dps with the right weapon. The only way a paladin will ever dish out real damage is with a big, slow 2h weapon simply because they are available with much better ratios than comparable 1h weapons.

This weapon really belongs to a bard. The added AC is a real boon, and worth the absence of stats. Its ratio is pretty good too.

Paladins don't need the proc, but they do need stats, and this weapon has no stats.

I think any paladin who had this weapon would sell it to a bard and use the cash to get one of the insane ratio paladin/sk only 1handers. Not sure what out there is tradeable, I'm guessing you can get at least 2/3 ratio for the price of this weapon, maybe with a proc that is actually useful (paladins get shield of words, which is better than guard)
