besides for the fact that this proc saves a lotta mana for necros, it is a useful item to sometimes have in the bank as well. this is a good item for when your single group wipes, if u keep this in the bank. If you have a coupple hundred pp or some coffins this helps a lot because no matter how uber u are when ur dead ur naked and pretty vunerable. another good thing about this robe is it is not lore so u can make a second one if u got the components and want to have one in ur inventory and one in bank. The alternative to getting more than one robe is making either kael robe or getting tunares robe which is a lot harder to get. The robe piece of the turn in corroded robe or what not CAN be MQ'ed. But both people need the faction of ally iirc.

I can't WAIT to get my hands on this robe! The summon corpse spell is one of my most requested spells and people definately will donate for it (sit in the PoK long enough and you'll see people BEGGING for necro summon and a rez to go with it while you're there. This robe would be a huge help, as you can carry this around even if you have a better robe on and just click away when you need it.

Also, for a raid, this is great. Instead of everyone wiping...the necro runs his happy *** to a safe spot, FD's, waits a little bit...summons the cleric for a necro-rez, and starts summoning everyone for cleric-rezzes. Way more effective than spending thousands for coffins and throwing all that mana away. If you have a Drog, you can even med up WHILE you use this little baby. Honestly, one of the best 'class-specific' armour peices I've seen in a long time.

Somewhere down the page here, there is a person who claims that the cost of 30 corpse pulls is too expensive and never done...

Personally, I really feel sorry for any raid that you get invited on if this is your attitude. I raid frequently with my guild, and on several occasions have needed to summon 20+ corpses from under a big mob's *** (like the Keeper of Souls, for example). If I'd had this robe at the time, it would have made a huge difference to me!

And if you aren't gonna summon everyone's corpses, how do you suggest that a bunch of naked people fight their way, say, down into the Royals area of Chardok to get them back?

Incidentally, the melee class Thurg BP clickies are no use in a combat situation. My BF plays a SK who has his Dark Runed Breastplate, and while it's great in between fights and the healers love him, a 14 second cast time is not gonna go uninterrupted if you're the raid/group MA.

Honestly, people, think, then post. And if you mostly solo and that's your thing, then good for you - but you will never get this robe if you solo so quit ******** about it and get on with your life.

Actually when you consider that conjure corpse costs 700 mana the effect is by far the absolute best part about this row. Maybe you have a full raid and wipe out. 72 corpses x 700 mana is a LOT. Basically it's 45 minutes worth of medding with ft 15, mental clarity 3, a horse, seduction of saryrn and bard song at level 65.
Not too impressed with the effect
# Jul 23 2003 at 9:55 PM Rating: Default
I love the stats and I'm not saying I wouldn't love to have this robe, but the effect is not that great. Most necros who get this (or any of the quest robes with this effect) will probably already be level 57 (or at least very near to it) and can just use the conjure corpse spell when they need to summon.

You don't summon often enough (and never in combat) for the mana cost to be a big deal. It the component cost that sucks. Maybe if they made it a component free effect (or a less expensive component, etc.) this would rock.

Not trying to wine, just thinking of what other classes get. The melee chest piece is LIFE ALTERING (if you can get one before your in your 60's). It can make your monk, warrior, etc. a good solo class. The effect is "Invigorate" - a 100+HP heal.

A mana free heal for non-healing classes that tank? Now THATS nice!

Not to mention the money saved on coffins if you are not 57 yet and you get this robe! 3 groups summoning corpses at 130pp a pop with the old spell.

When you will have to summon all your raid forces wiped out at the end of a hard dungeon, you'll see than the 700 mana save is a huge effect !
sweet robe
# Feb 25 2003 at 9:21 PM Rating: Excellent
Just got this robe a couple weeks ago on a kael raid in the arena. We were there for about 2 hours with pretty crappy drops. About half of the raid force decides to leave and now we have around 12 people. Well about 15 minutes after they left the robe dropped. There were only two people in the raid that could use the robe, a 52 enchanter, and a 46 necromancer(me). I won with a roll of 94 and it was the happiest day of my necro career.

I got the 3 pristine emeralds and did the turn in at lvl 46 with kindly faction. To check to see if you can do the quest try to go through the text with the quest giver. If you get to the part where he asks you for the enchanted silk armor and gems then you are able to do it. And yes i could use the effect at lvl 46(i think 45 is minimum lvl).

Overall this robe kicks soo much ***. I will be wearing it for many lvls to come and even after that i will keep it for the summons. And last, stop flaming on the fact that one robe has better stats than the other and that one sucks(kael, thurg, ss, etc..) most people are happy just to get one of these robes, plus the differences in them are extremely minor.

I just MQ'ed this robe on the same account with my level 45 necro. Don’t know if the effect is usable yet, will post as soon as I give it a shot. Both characters have ally faction with the Coldain.

On a side not, the casting time is 25.0. Is that the same for all or is that level dependent?

Got this robe tonight. The robe is great in the fact you cast Conjure corpse-anyone targeted in same zone- for zero (0) mana and use a tiny coffin that weighs only 0.1, is stackable and can be stored in any bag. Cost diff on coffins is bout 50 per coffin cheaper as well. On a Raid...this WILL make or break a bad CR. If you get the ability to cast a lvl 57 conjure corpse spell at lvl 50, you will find yourself invited on alot more fun raids as a back up plan-which is ok by me.

Good luck and hope you get yours,

# Mar 15 2002 at 1:21 PM Rating: Default
hehe, anyone else see the irony in this? I believe the effect is a self only corpse summon.. chances are though that if you need to summon your own corpse you won't be wearing the robe.
RE: oh, the irony
# May 13 2002 at 10:50 AM Rating: Decent
Yes you are correct, you can only cast this on yourself. But what you do not realize is, you must cast the spell on yourself because you are summoning the corpse of the person you are targeting.

All corpse summoning spells are self only targetable.

You are wrong son...effect is targettable, and VERY useful guildraid wipes...
Conjure Corpse -> 700mana per cast
Robe -> no mana at all
Wizards get better robe

Now i am not a nec and probally will never get a nec this far. i Have a 56 wizards and i think the wizard quest robe is great but i hate to see any class get the shaft and necs really did on this one. I dont see a reason to put that effect on a robe. I think they should have gotten either a high level hp/mana converter or a pet buff or even a dot but to get this spell its just wrong.
RE: Wizards get better robe
# Jun 30 2002 at 8:58 AM Rating: Decent
This effect is great...if you had a Nec you would understand...Conjure Corpse is a major need on raids, and in some dungeons, and it is a 700 mana spell...if you have a raid to summon, you are casting a few times, then medding, and wasting time...this is free summoning, no mana, just the coffins. I don't feel cheated at all, bar the fact I don't have this robe yet =P hehe.

Well, I agree with the post above yours that says this effect isnt that good. First of all if there is a raid whipe you will likely be one of them whiped which means you will have to summon your own corpse first just so you can summon others. Second of all, conjure corpse just isnt used that much. It is one of the spells that gets used on soured raids in Kael or Chardok, etc.. which most guilds dont go to often in the first place. Second, most necros do more solo than they ever do in raids. Lets be realistic.. we are a solo class on the whole and when we do go on raids, we are mana batteries to the clerics (as if we can't do every bit as much dmg as the mages etc.), so a solo ability would have been much more beneficial. Thirdly, effects like a pet focus or something along those lines would be infintely more appreciated among Necromancers than the spell conjure corpse. I would much rather have a focused pet, or the ability to summon awesome pet weapons than the very seldom used spell of conjure corpse.

Just my 2cp, but if there was a wipe and say I as a necro had this little gadget (planning on MQing it soon) I can tell you that I would most definately not be one of the ones to die. Why you may ask, the answer is simple... Raise your hands any necro's that don't keep that handiest of handy spells sitting in your spell list as a just incase.. That's right Feign Death.. If I had 1pp for the amount of times FD has saved my butt from a major whalloping I'd be a Zillionare (well close enough anyway).

Answer Necro FD's. Waits for semi clear moment or runs away then FD's again in a clearer spot. Stands up after aggro clear and self succors to safe spot and begind the small task of mana free summons. Instant praise from the raid party. Thanks for coming.

RE: Wizards get better robe
# Mar 28 2006 at 2:04 PM Rating: Decent
Sorry very experienced raid necro here and yes FD works on raid mobs. You still get the AE, but best bet is to have your FD/Levant up get out of dodge and a summon the CR team. Besides the idea of the game is to enjoy is and if someone likes this robe, so be it, if it helps great, anything mana free is awesome.

ROFL. That's really funny.

The Wizard robe has a level 44, 340 DD spell. 0 Recast time. 0 mana used. 0 components. 6 seconds to cast. Fire based.

On a big raid you're probably going to be using some other nukes and throwing this into the fray on occasion, or maybe once per fight.

At 44, Necromancers get a Fire based Nuke also, this one does 500 dmg. Yes I know Wizzies have another that's 625. Thankfully, our nuke is not on our robe. I love the spell, but this robe is better to have.

The Necromancer robe takes out the need to use a HUGE coffin that IS a container itself, and now you only need to put little stackable coffins INTO a container. Heck, I'd love to be able to carry 20 in a stack rather than a max of 8 (if I don't wanna have any bags on me). Plus, I doubt Wizards get this tell, "Can you come to Velks (or Sol) and get my corpse out of a hole?".

Now if they had put Translocate on the Wizzie robe we could talk, but this is a much better utility compared to a nuke IMO.

Corpse summoning is one of the main things a Necromancer strives for upon his ascent, it's a keystone for them. Is Enticement of Flame the same big deal for a Wizard?

I am not posting to flame the person that started this. I am sure that they truly thought this was not a useful item. My intention is only to clarify this perception from the standpoint of someone who would use the item gladly.

Kael, Thurg or Skyshrine?

Just wondering about which quests are better. Here are the stats for the Skyshrine one, AC: +12 Sta: +15 Int: +15 Cha: +7 Magic Resist: +3 Fire Resist: +3 Cold Resist: +10 Poison Resist: +5 Disease Resist: +10 HP: +70 Mana: +50. The Thurgadin one is AC: +12 Sta: +15 Int: +14 Magic Resist: +10 Cold Resist: +5 Poison Resist: +5 Disease Resist: +5 HP: +70 Mana: +50. And last the Kael Drakkel one is AC: +14 Sta: +15 Int: +14 Magic Resist: +4 Fire Resist: +10 Cold Resist: +4 Poison Resist: +14 Disease Resist: +4 HP: +70 Mana: +50. Any help would be apprecaited, thanks!

Thurgadin.

Same basic mana/hps and stats, more SVM. Killer look...

SS = looks nasty
PoG = pain to get
Kael=not a big difference unless your guild/friends are on this faction.

Thurgadin Robe(despite the reputation of the other quest pieces) is...uber, if you will ~smirk~

torn enchanted silk robe drops from troopers, adjutents, veterans, protectors of zek and higher lvl giants in kael drakkal. Only seen 2 robes drop in about 200 hours there.

Pristine emeralds can drop from lvl 51+ caster mobs in velks, but your best bet is to camp sirens in sirens grotto with a group, get about 3 or 4 bp / robe gems an hour, so probably wouldn't take more than an hour or two. (go ww side, then go down well and yer there... careful of gravity flux)

Stats are nice, look is nice, effect is cool. Effect 57 summon corpse, think u need that lvl to let it proc. Long casting time, but no mana needed. Tiny coffins still needed, makes huge cr faster, not cheaper :)

Basically VI gives you three ways to get the same robe. That's why this robe is similar to the PoG and Kael quest robe. Just kill named trees in PoG and farm out robes, or quest for them... being that this and the kael robe are similar you can quest for it no matter if you are on dorf or giant faction. Oh, and anyone who complains about the effect on this robe will most likely never own one.
