Anybody know what this is used for?

They're not really used for anything other than game lore and info on how to start the cursed cycle.
According to another post under a different lore piece, you kill all the taskmasters within a certain time and it spawns the glyphed serpent or runed, don't remember exactly, which spawns something else until you get to Vyzh'dra the Exiled and Cursed.
