drop info

Could someone post some info on where they got they drum to drop? I have been camping the sirens in front of the sirens grotto cave for a couple days now and no drums. Can you see the drum when the siren has them? I have had several horns drop and you could see the horn in their hands.

You can see them carrying the drum most of the time. I see the enticers carrying them while I was looking for the Runed Seashells for the coldain shawl. Good Luck on them. They do not see invis but do help each other if attacked.
RE: drop info
# Jul 28 2003 at 7:24 PM Rating: Decent
We got about 3 or 4 of them to drop inside sirens grotto while hunting for runed sea shells for coldain shawl and ring quests. Zone in to SG, evac to opposite side of zone and head back in a bit. Swim down in the well there, and there's a bunch of swordfish, sirens, and some kind of elemental looking things, don't remember the name. Lots of Thurg armor gems drop here as well.
DoT comparison!
# Jun 13 2003 at 4:34 AM Rating: Decent
Now that DoT values are shown, here is the direct comparison between a Combine Hand Drum and a Walrus Drum at lvl 40:

Tuyen's Chant: 42 per tick / 48 per tick
Fulfil's Chant: 28 per tick / 32 per tick

That makes a sweet increase of 14%!

DotB is 55pct and does hit the selo's line (or seems to when i wield it Smiley: bowdown )
Anyhow yea Main Hand instru are usually the best (Lute of the Howler, TDoK, DotB, etc.)

This drumis 30pct and is imho better than selo's if your deciding which to purchase as Selo's usually goes for up to 5k more and is only 5pct better (wow 30 sec less a fight)

Save your money, Save your time... dont stay in line. Your a bard live up to the title (or down for you anti-bards)

power
# Jul 17 2002 at 9:08 AM Rating: Decent
you never will notice the true power of a lot of instruments due to the cap (speed caps, etc)...
every bard song caps out at some point and usually a lot of instruments are a waste due to it.

Eqdiva lists this as a 30% drum. Testing for speed is pretty subjective, when i get time I will go someplace quiet and dot my self with and with out and try the rythems line with and without and post the averages.

Perhaps the the fact that the picture states:
"Slot: Secondary" shows the items true value.

Is this one of the valuable instruments that allow the user to use something else in the other hand? If so .. then these drums would simply rock (please excuse the pun - still a newbie bard).

Sorry my friend but you can't wield any instrument (that I know of, I have tried of lot of them) that you can wield a weapon with. I am sure these are no different, since hand drums also say they are secondary only.
RE: Slot:Secondary
# Jul 18 2002 at 6:14 PM Rating: Decent
There is a vah shir only lute that you can quest for in shar vahl thats primary only and you can wield it with a weapon. i think its the lute of the jharin recruit, cant remember the name exactly, but swinging with only your off hand isnt that effective. But its great for not having to switch out both weapons to use your lute.
RE: Slot:Secondary
# Mar 15 2002 at 6:45 PM Rating: Decent
Flawless Ivory Horn from Shadeweavers is Primary allowable, which allows you to use a secondary weapon.

Lute of the Howler, Drums of the Beast, Denon's Horn of Disaster, Velkentonors (sp) Horn of Disaster, Denon's Drums (dunno rest of name), Erjav's Flute (Again, dunno rest) are all Primary Useable, making it so you can have a weapon in offhand. All of those, though, are either super rare, or very expensive to buy. Some worth it, some aren't.

Just got a Walrus Skin Drum in a trade and tested it against other instruments my wife has.

Lvl 53 Bard singing Chant of Battle (inc dex/str)

Just the song increase - 18 points
Regular Drums increase - 32 points
MM Drums increase - 37 points
Walrus Skin increase - 41 points
Selos Drum increase - 43 points

I have no idea how anyone figures the percentages for these instruments , but these are the stats.

RE: Stats

Drums go in this order:

Hand Drum (i.e., regular drum)
Combine Drum (sold in Katta Castellum)
Mahlin's Bongos (Part of the pg 24 top epic quest)
Mistmoore Battle Drum
Sharkskin Drum (from Kedge)
Nostrolo's Tamborine
Walrus Skin Drum (from Sirens)
Selo's Drums of the March (Naggy)
Drums of the Beast (from SG)

this drum is dropped off the Sirens, and adds 23% to percussion. I have no idea of it's value, has anyone sold one and if so for how much?

Have just acquired a walrus drum I did a little testing against my tambourine. I came up with 29% added to the song, versus the 23% of the tambourine. Granted that's 6% fewer than Selo's drums but still a nice addition, never really cared about the 5 int from the tambourine anyway.

#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 04 2001 at 2:51 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) All racial jokes aside, what's the deal w/ this thing? Are there really ANY bards fighting here that don't have selo's drums? Even if these are 30%, that's still 5% less than selo's drums. No stats... the only possible advantage is that these may be a little lighter than selo's. (sorry, i dun remember exactly how heavy my drums are).
This adds 30% not 27%.

Iksar can't be bards, also they lack the appropriate number of fingers to play most 'conventional' instruments. Typically they simply prefer to hear the agonized screams of others echoing within their city walls (plus, that 'Menudo' crap was still wildly popular until they banned it.

Also, I think it's totally unfair (woe is me!) that a fine Ogre Shaman like myself can't equip a mandolin, even though it's All/All (and the vendor won't give me a refund!). The sad thing is, my friend (an Iksar monk to boot) can equip it, and the gm's told me that if any 'fix' was made, they'd probably just remove ogres from the all/all because it'd be "too hard to code" the models. YOU SLACKERS! Quit makin' more planar-level gear and make some good JUNK for us to play with!

If anyone needs me, I'll be at the bar.

An Iksar may not be able to be a bard, but a bard can be an Iksar. :) It's called an Iksar Hide Mask.

#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 28 2001 at 8:22 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) bah. lol..the FV quested tambourine gives the same % (23%) as this does...at lvl 52 I did the quest in about 5 to 7 hours...why go to a uber high lvl dungeon for this? hehe. tambourine at least looks like a tambourine instead of drums looking like a picolo =p
RE: Duh
# Aug 18 2001 at 12:49 AM Rating: Decent
I am sure you are wrong. This drum has a higher precussion percentage increase than the tambourine. But I do agree, the tambourine looks cooler.

It's nice that ogres can use these drums, but I think that they are more into wind instruments if you catch my drift.
