This dropped tonight when i went exploring by the gnoll area. Just killed em all and that dropped. Though it has 5 Endurance to the weapon now along with a damage bonus of 48.

My warrior almost sold this as he thought it said "Ruined" lucky he caught the misread and gave it to his little druid sister.
I was taking my 23 Pally over to The Arena today and had to run through the gnolls at the zone. The were all Dark Blue so I decided to chance a self train. (The zone was behind me and there were only 4 people in the zone with no-one else at risk.)
Of the 6 gnolls who rushed me 2 were High Shamans. I won the fight with 35% health remaining.
On 1 of the Shamans I found this staff, on the other was a Runed Battle Staff.
The stats that are listed on this site are correct. I think the earlier poster is thinking of a different staff.

I got this staff tonight in Lake Rathe, but it opped from a normal Gnoll. The Gnoll High Shaman never even had a staff weapon. Only a rusty mace. The gnolls were consistently popping with staff type weaps and eventually with the runed totem staff.
Nothing stands before the might of the Kabal
Believe it or not, this item used to be one of the really nice weapons in the game!

I remember back in my n00b days huting in BB i was using a cracked staff (this was before the age of expansion and twinking). I had bout 7pp total and i saw somone auction this. As n00bs always do i asked for the stats and price. The guy replied and told me that i could have it for 5pp. this was my first magic item ever (i didnt even have a robe) and i was so happy! Used it to bout lvl 15 when i got my first robe (goosimer robe..ac8 :) and a water crystal staff...GOD was i uber then!

I was running along on Orc Hill in Gfay one day when someone just up and gave me one of these, I was so happy!! I used it for a long time, I know till around 16th level.. give or take a level or two... Only thing is is that it's 2HB.. and it weighed alot. But I dont use it anymore and my 1HB sucks now which I think is more important considering the Enchanter Epic is a 1hb weapon. But really, this weapon was great as a lower level weapon, nice damage, and the stats are great for lower levels when the secondary slot isnt necessary for something else.. such as a Crude Stein, or Doll =)
I'd still like to thank the person who just up and gave me theirs, I still remember that generosity 30 levels later =)

there was this friend of a friend of mine, who gave me everything off his necro, and in it he gave me a runed totem staff, even though i had already had a velium great staff (dont u just luv having friends and guilds). A guild member had already given me a velium great staff, but this one was a little better. Too bad i lost the velium, i couldve sold it for a lot.

In Qeynos and Freeport this item goes for 10pp to 15pp. Once I got my latest new character to level 6, here's how I got mine... I ran straight to Lake Rathe and announced a total of two times that I "WTB RTS". A druid in wolf form ran up to me and gave me one without a word. When I said "THANKS!!!", he replied: "np, they drop all the time here are are lore, so, enjoy!"

I have one for sale on Bristlebane server, pls send a tell. I'm usually on evenings, Pacific time zone.
That price is WAY off. I bought one for 10pp 6 months ago. If it is for a quest, it is still too much, because in Lake rathe it takes about an hour to get one max. I got one in under 5 minutes.

Anyone in South Karana that is looking for this item just needs to step into Lake Rathe and get it off High Gnoll Shaman. There is usually always one there. Spawns pretty quickly. could only pick up one but there were two other corpses with them on. beware of easy trains though.
It also dropps off of the Gnoll Guards. Just look for one that's carrying a staff.
I was there (Lake Rathetear thas is) for about 30 minutes yesterday, and got three of them. I already had one, so those three just rotted.

i killed a patrolling gnoll and he had on him 2 onyx earrings +2 agi a gnoll hide lariat and a runed totem staff does that strike anyone as a little odd?

Not just a little odd...downright peculiar, bordering on pure unmitigated BS. LOL!
If it truly happened, nice loot, congrats! I've been hunting elites and comms in BB with my ranger and have only come up with one onyx earring (although a shammy camping the green room gave me an RTS that dropped because 1) he already had one and 2) he didn't want the weight on him.) I think it will be a nice gift for my brand new DE chanter I made last night. ;-)

This item also drops off of a named gnoll shaman. I forget his name. I almost killed him, but someone else finished him off and told me that this item droped.

This is my Mage's Weapon of choice. It was given to Kal at lvl 4 by a guild member. It still at lvl 12 does wonderful damage, and the HP and Mana boost is very nice. For anyone thinking of buying this for your character, do it!

I found as rare drop (1 of about 8 kills so far) on Shamen Ren'Rex of Southern Karana. He spawns every 30-45 min and wanders along west side of zone north to south at about the pos 2500 line. He's never had a weapon until I saw him carrying the staff.
