Tough Camp
# May 12 2014 at 12:08 AM Rating: Decent
I've been camping this for the past 2 days with about 8 total hours put in. After 16 PH kills, saw Soulfury Embermeer for the first time. Of course, he dropped the 2h aug.

One unusual thing happened, the spawns stopped for about 12 hrs when the Werewolves took over the zone.
lucky?

maybe it was a lucky spawn but i went in with my sk, killed the PH and then 20mins later he spawned and dropped the aug.
First time in 8 years of playing EQ...

... that I do a tough camp and get lucky.

Zoned in, killed a PH, about 20+ minutes later, named spawns and drops it. Total time, 25 min or so.

GL to all others, I finally had luck myself. Woooooo.

Wish me luck

Camping this now...spent a couple hours there yesterday but going to dedicate my EQ time to getting this aug now, seeing as it is the best SK aug for a weapon in the game.

Hands down one of the worst time sinks Ive ever attempted. whats even worse is I have seen the named spawn 2 times(having camped it for at least 30 hours now) both times it dropped the poisen dammage aug. The only worst camp Ive ever experianced is the Earth illusion from PoE (over 36 hours and countless named, but no rare)

Aside from that what makes this camp HORRIBLE is that durring and or right after a change in power of the zone(ie from Eyes to Orcs, or any other combo)
if the PH is down before the change ordone anytime near when the change happens, the named will not respawn. If your lucky it might respawn hours later, if not it may take days and/or change in power and/or server reset to fix it.

This is incorrect. The PH will stop spawning, but the spawn cycle continues. When this happens you can kill the static spawn that spawns at the bottom of the ramp and it will also stay down.

Basically what happens is if it would have been a PH spawn, you will get no mob, if it's going to be Soulfury Embermeer he will spawn per normal. So in other words, it's kinda like the game clearing the PH spawns for you. All you gotta do is sit and wait for Soulfury Embermeer to show up.

I camped this guy for about 13 hours straight, then had the control switch in the zone and the PH's stopped spawning. Well I was doing something on my other monitor and decided to just leave my SK there and FD on the wall right next to the PH spawn point. Ended up going afk for a few hours and came back, still no spawn. About 2 hours later all the sudden Soulfury Embermeer spawns and drops my Jote. Did some quick calculations and he spawned on what would have been a 22 minute spawn time. This is why I believe the cycle continues, but the PH just doesn't spawn, but Soulfury Embermeer will if he was meant to on that spawn.

GL guys, hope my info helps.

Anyone know how much aggro this would generate? I mean like in raw data; EB = 700hate, Anger3 = 600hate etc;

What would this proc add ? rune is 230, would be 230hate? I read a write-up on the RuneV proc from the Pike that drops in the Ashegate: East raid, and someone quoted that the 700hp rune proc(runeV) would generate 1500hate (AE)... any info would be nice.
Thanks

He's referring to the fact that lets say Runic is 200 hate, when it procs any mob that has you on its hate list gets 200 hate added to it, quite nifty for warriors and keep multiple mobs on ya without blowing alot of endurance, supposedly rune III+ gives really good agro values according to the talks over at steelwarrior.

Don't know but if it is double 230 (460). But if it were then I think the loss of agro might be worth the rune effect since a tanks main priority is staying alive. Enraging Blow is 700 and chaotic strike iv is said to be 400+150. A rune might do the same agro as a debuff (400) plus whatever the amount of the rune itself (230) for a total of 630. Then again it could be debuff aggro + rune amountx2 for a total of 860 agro.

There is no set amount of agro on a debuff. It's prolly based on the mobs level, or the hp, or relative your hp to the mobs hp or relative your level to the mobs level.

Being a warrior, if I got it I know I at least give it a try.

heals and runes do not have any exact amount of hate attached to their spell info, so there is no way to be exactly sure just how much 'raw' hate they produce.

fortunately, who is in control doesn't affect the drop.
But, with bolvriks in control, that camp is much easier to pull since there are almost none wandering near the ph.
