I think you're all wrong imo. I plan to wear these on my monk who is high 40's. He has tons of resist so the minus's don't really show and that 14ac on a gaunt for a monk rocks, the strength and dex rocks. so there you have it. for me they will rock up until my epic. Just my opinion, but what do I know. I only have 200+ levels in characters =) hope i don't get flamed too bad =(
I agree, very much. These would be good for a monk with high resist gear, especially a higher level one. Good luck getting them and happy hunt to you all.
In my opinion, these are not good gaunts for a monk at all. First of all, a monk without epic isn't likely to get them. But more importantly, Monks have the hardest time of any class getting good resists... taking such a significant across the board resistance hit for 4 more raw ac than Naggy gaunts seems silly.
On the other hand, these are GREAT for casters... Casters are in bad need of ac, and need STR badly for weight management. Furthermore, casters tend to have extremely high resists, so the 5-hit to each will seem like a minor inconvenience.
Dex is handy for casters as well, since just about the only time a sane caster would swing at a mob is if there is some sort of beneficial proc involved. And the stamina hit won't translate into too many HP on a caster.
These are very nice gaunts. Sure some negatives, 7 stamina wont hurt hp that much, and resistances can always be raised otherways. But if you take into account the 15 str, 9 dex, and 14 AC they are very nice. I have a level 30 rogue alternate, and 15 str at my level could easily raise my backstab by 30 damage, give 15 str to a level 60 and see how much higher it goes. then the 15 str would make my damage bonus go up by like 5-10, cant argue with that. Add the 9 dex and you proc allot more. Then the AC is fairly high which is always nice. Compare this to other gauntlets that add like +2 to a few stats. Then the weight is only .3, talk about a monks dream come true. Dont call it crap unless you know what your talking about. And whats with all the level 15's posting about the minus 7 stamina hurting hp and fighting ability. Stamina doesnt go down that bad in fights, and at 15, what is it like 10 hp.
Righty oh. I can tell you as a monk. I will never wear anything that is neg 5 sv all. Trust me as a monk one items ac is not going to save you, especially not when nukes and aoe's are hitting for as much as a round of attacks would. I can't speak for other classes but I'm not taking them if I get a chance at them unless it's to twink a low level where saves don't matter as much.

I mean goodness yeah 15str woot but look at the resists it takes down and the sta. Defintly not good for any tank and no casters in my mind would need to use these at all. So therefore I see no point in having these guanlets.
I would think some rogues would use those. 15 str and 9 dex is good for rogue offence, and if it's a good rogue he don't get hit much, hence no need for defence :) Still not sure I would use these fighting dragons though...

Salutations fellow posters. I was looking up there here gaunts and quite frankly, I'd love having them on my Monk for the weight. I do not have the epic and likely will not have it for a long time to come so these would be a very welcomed addition considering the STR stat and the AC. Granted, I wouldn't wear these on a raid where resists were a factor but for all around "ho-busting" as I've heard a few Halflings call it, they'd be genuinely loved in my inventory slot.

well if you have an SSB, that is +35 Life, and from what ive seen on here more than cancels out that neg, and the -SVresists really dont means much IF you camp something that doest cast in the first place. "o0o0o this weapon sux, it has a neg, lemme go @#$% my pants a bit." get real, and dont diss Verant...you pay them about $10 a month. Morons
Maybe there is a quest to turn them into the gauntlets of immortality (that wouldnt suck). I wouldnt pay more than 10plat for a pair of those. Would be nice on a newbie twink.... but that is about it.
7sta doesn't mean that much to a newbie, 2-5hps if you're 10th or less. Meanwhile str is almost one for one increasing your attack rating, that makes these worthwhile to newbies. (granted losing th 20-30 hps would keep you from using it latter in life)
A quest? hmmm dont think so, those gloves are rare and very hard to contain but you never know, maby they are for a quest... well, about the stats, yes its pretty weird they have all those negative stats on em. Verant have some wacky things going on sometimes that we all know and we can only hope they will change the stats on them in a future patch. I think these gloves are great for me and ofcourse i got another pair of gloves when i need magic resistans. Its the collor i like, totally black, goes nice with my froglok robe :) And so what if i got lesser HP with em on me hehe im allways in the background sitting on my **** when we fight :)
