Killed about 10-15 with my 68 Shammy Friend and my old 66 Cleric.. we got about 2 to spawn..I guess It was PURE luck..Went back again..killed hundreds of spiders not 1..Good Luck guys all you gotta do is keep trying.

I decided to farm one for my alt sk, killed about 6 and it dropped. Guess I'm just lucky.

Got one to drop at the Dragon Necropolis zone-in... was there maybe 3 hours. Phase spider blood and silk drop commonly, but most of the time they drop nothing... They are Lightblue to a 65...

Camped these for 3 days and finally got a carapace. Sold it in 5 minutes for 8K (needed quick cash) and went back. Killed close to 75 spiders within the last 2 days and haven't seen another one drop. Has anyone found that spiders further back drop the carapace more often then the front ones that are always camped? Just curious. The one carapace I did get was from a spider back on the ramp.

Spend aprox 5 hours now there. Only one phase spider silk dropped. I can kill 2 before I run out of mana as a 59 druid. They are easy to kite just do the following:

Pull one with snare, walk a little away from it till you're out of his range and when it's in your range cast first dot.
After first dot landed you'll stil be able to cast root without getting hit.
Cast 2nd, 3th and so on depending on how many dots you throw on it.
Go sit a little away from it, when root breaks cast it again and go sit on same distance away.

NB: These things have a lot of hp's and as a druid it isn't handy to throw nukes on him. Nukes take a lot of mana and if you just sit down to med and keep dot's up he will go down to and you'll be able to kill more of them before running oom. Of course it goes some faster but counting with the downtime you will kill more of them without nuking m.

I'm going back tomorrow to camp them again cause I want the carapace. It's a long camp but if you're lucky its a quick 10k on my server.

P.S. Read a lot of post seeing they cast shadowstep but not 1 has casted it while I was there. Ther're also people who see you need to be in melee range to cast spell but that's not true either. I can stand a fair distance away while still being able to cats my spells.

You should be able to solo these quite easily - I've done it successfully as a 46 Druid (with KEI, Chloroplast and SOW) and have had no problems. These critters hit me for about 120 (max) damage if I cut a corner short.

Overall, easy to kite and manage.

I went here today with a guildies to help get me there as a lvl 54 beast and got one about my 5 th kill. They take some taking down though, they take about half my mana pool with a kei to pet cleric them. So the xp isnt brilliant camping them at the zone edge. I am going back on in a bit to try and get one for my friend.

I also got a phase spider silk (no drop) and some phase spider blood with 1 cast of improved invisibilty which isnt too shabby for a beast who sucks at casting invis.

Now i just need to get out of there...

I remember when these where going for 5k. It wasn't to long ago in fact. I used to see the same person in the bazaar with one for sale for days on end at 5k. Was the drop rate nerfed in the past few months or is this another example of Yantis inflating prices?

i got one for my bst a few days ago. i traded a cloak of greater pernicity and a mantle of a maniacal magus and 1k for it. i think i got a good deal. cloak was about 3k for the items i couldn't get and mantle was won on an adventure in EF. got items for another cloak for 4k. very nice BP for bst, one of the best available. soon as i get a lodizal shell shield for his back slot, the 2nd cloak of greater pernicity is going to my 33 warrior. someday soon plan to go camp these spiders, hope i can loot one for cleric, monk, and maybe shaman alt also.

Were gearing up a beastie alt of mine when I started to look for a chest item, browsed the bazaar window and saw two of these for 12k.
Thought for myself; "bah, I'd never pay 12k for that".
But it was still a nice item and I went here and looked at all these posts, whoa, when I saw that some people had been there for days and days without a drop, then there was someone that had been there for just a few hours and even just a few pulls, so I bonked myself in the head and went out to get one.

I started killing the 4 spiders near entrance and the wandering one. Began to kill at like 10pm EST, soloed to 1am, got help from 1am to 4am, then soloed again from 4am to 7am, when I was about to leave I got aggroed by a lightblue phase spider and there it was, I could barely belive my eyes. I am really glad that I got it and I don't blame the ppl that charge 10kpp or more for it.

So what have we learned?
Apparently any "a phase spider" may drop it since I got it at entrance and some other ppl got it elsewhere.
They /con mostly darkblue to a level 63 druid, but there were some lightblue also.
They don't gate when rooted/dotted, apparently only takes effect when they hit you.
With C3 and PotC I could take down 2 before I were OOM.

Good Luck guys, hope you get it, I sure don't regret spending all those hours there, it was worth it =)

Well, today I was agro kiting these with a 52 dru and a 42 mnk. Very easy and haven't gotton a PSC yet but will keep trying. Dru got agro and ran around while mnk whacked it, good way to kill these considering that a dru isn't a very good healer at that level. (Will be easier when both characters are a higher level.)

I hunted these guys for about 8 hours yesterday and I saw no sign of them proccing Shadow Step. My mage friend even joined me half way through and we were having his pet act as an extra DoT. Sometimes though the pet would gain aggro and not once was he ever gated back to his home point either. Odd...

Camped for 6hours with my 52 Bard and No drops, I had heard rumors that they used to drop a lot more but in over 22 hours of killing I have never seen one drop.

Lucked out today and got one after 6 kills. As a 62 Beastlord, my pet was generally able to chew through them after slow went down. They hit for around 150 damage, but they hit quick. Slow is a must if you don't want to burn mana.

They proc shadow step very often, so if you have to tank them you will end up all over the shop, and probably in trouble. If you aren't a pet or kiting class, you really need to be grouped for safety reasons.

The really annoying thing about these spiders, apart from them being able to phase in and out of visibility, is that you have to be right next to them to cast on them. I had to have my pet follow me, engage a spider and then hope that he didn't get gated before I'd gotten slow off. After that, I'd head back to the ZO, and sure enough within seconds my pet would join me :P

The zone itself is really creepy, and I'm sure had I been there longer I would have experienced some of the nasty traps that exist in abundance.

I want one.

Just as a tad bit of info for druids, these things run as fast as SoW (SoE barely outruns them) so be prepared for a jog if Ensnare is resisted!

Anybody who plays a monk knows that lots of pieces are under 1 weight..some 0.1/0.0 . Lets say you have a T-staff (10 weight) and this (5 weight). You are currently at 15 weight. Your tink bag in inventory weighs 1...and everything inside it doesn't matter. So you are at 16 weight with bandages/food/drink/any other thing in a 100% bag. Lets say your other gear is velious quested armor. They weigh 0.1 a piece. Your hp rings/earrings are also 0.1 weight. Thats roughly 1.5 more weight. That puts you at 17.5 weight total. The weight limit at 42 is 17. Wearing this at anything above 42? NO PROBLEM =)

I was wandering around the bazaar shoping about as always. When a level 65 necro gives me this bp for free.This bp rocks considering I'm level 31.G'luck for everyone else to get there PSC.

Had 2 of these drop last night within 10 minutes of each other, with one group consisting of 50pal, 57wiz, 60pal, 60mage, 60enc and 60cle. We killed about 30 or so near the entrance and a hand full of Dragon Constructs. Both mobs where easy for this group to take down but they do phase you on top of other spiders and to bones, which spawn the Constructs. I don't know how often these drop but I think we got lucky. Anyway it was a fun outing and both the 60cle and 50pal received a nice upgrade. I've seen the PSC sell for around 12k on Bristlebane.

I bought this bp for my paladin, the ac is not amazing but with all the stat increases, it is a good buy at 7500pp.it does have the plate look too so this is nice aswell.I would recomend this item to most classes including MONKS as i see some debat on that.I have a good friend who is 60th and wears this as a monk. He has his epic etc and like anyone is always looking for better but he says till he gets better this is a fine monk bp.

Had 2 of these drop for us last night while we were pulling spiders and Dragon Constructs..I won one of them..it was a FFA group that night since we all were wearing better..Just not sure if I want to give it to my Bard, Rogue or just sell it.Ya its better then what my alts have but there are also a few odds and ends i want for this char..ill figure it out..well good hunting and safe journey to all
