You all missed the point
# Feb 20 2004 at 4:06 PM Rating: Decent
The point of having this effect as a clicky is so that you can have your pet around in raids and such, but if you need to get off a charm in an emergency you still can quickly. If you haste your pet and give him a rusty weapon he actually has quite impressive DPS, and occasionally he can taunt a mob off of you. I use the level 49 pet at the moment.

Now I don't want to sound like a 'n00b' (the subject of this post is a JOKE, BTW), but why are our Velious Quests so horrible? I'm beating the dead lumpy mush that used to be a horse by saying this, but still... RECLAIM ENERGY!? What the (random expletive)!?!? This would be acceptable if the effect was, say, Brilliance or Gift of Magic, but I have never even USED Reclaim Energy, let alone use it enough to have it on a clicky item. *sigh*

you used to be able to do it .. however .. Sony made Tricksters a group only buff :( an from that day till now (I tried in game and it didn't work) you could not do it :(

Some chanters were running around and casting it on ppl when they were afk .. not so bad except they would do it in Freeport and such where the afk person was not KOS .. so needless to say .. spell got nurfed :(
Enchanters need Clickable Rezz
# Oct 15 2002 at 2:25 AM Rating: Good
I really hope they add some type of cleric rezz as an effect to this wrist band. If I'm ever out soloing with my pet, I'll be needing one soon.

Look at the bright side though. Its not like we got some worthless clickable effect on our chest piece like rune 4 or something. Oh...er....

Kind of makes you wonder if the folks who designed these pieces ever played an enchanter. I always charm kite if I'm forced to solo. I could use a pet and get away with it if I wanted to burn through mana and make my leveling process take 50 times as long. At least the damned things don't break mezz now. Got that much going for us. Now if I can keep that silly druid from DOTing everything I'll be set. >:) Man I'm bitter.

Actually, I find myself using my pet a lot while I solo. It's not as much of a hassle simply summoning a pet I know won't break, and it's convenient to know I can buff him safely as well as give him weapons.

It's all about what you fight and how you fight it, but Berserker Spirit is one of my bread and butter spells. Couple that with Shiftless Deeds and haste, and you don't really have to do a damn thing except recast B. Spirit when needed. Plus, the pets' DPS seems to have been increased recently, as I see my pet starting to hit in the mid 60s and relatively fast too, even with his default weapon.

I dunno, I think we enchanters should give our pets a chance with some decent melee mobs in some outdoor zone. You'd be pretty surprised at what you can accomplish with it if you have the right tactics.

This bracelet sucks, by the way. The effect isn't the useless part, it's the stats. I have Luclin boss bracelets, and even if I didn't, I'd rather use two PBBs than this ****. Good game, VI. Give this to monks, or something... they always want more fear.
RE: Animations
# Dec 22 2002 at 8:39 PM Rating: Decent
How could you possibly want two PBBs over this?

PBB: 2(or 3?) ac, 3int, 3 wis

At level 60, 1 int translates to 12 mana. If you already have 200 int it's even less, if you're lower than 60 it's even less. This wristguard has 20 mana, which more than makes up for that.. not to mention a little more ac and agi never hurt anybody. Resists are always welcome too.
Pets rule
# Aug 18 2002 at 10:46 PM Rating: Decent
Actualy i can solo Drk blues easily with the 49 pet, just haste and any other buffs needed like Mr if Magic creature you fighting then Slow enemy and throw a dot and occasionaly a Nuke, Chain stun if you wanna be safer...

Chanter Pets
# Apr 14 2002 at 12:41 PM Rating: Good
Chanter pets suck? Hmmm . . . My wife's Cleric and I went to the Seafury Isle in OOT, and kicked **** with my 49 pet (still Low Blue to level 56). Throw a coupla buffs on it, give it a second weapon, Trickster's Augmentation, Haste, and it can just about solo a Seafury Cyclops. If we had mana, we'd nuke to help out. Always pull with the highest level slow spell, no problem whatsoever. If we didn't have mana, let the pet solo while we med up. Cleric and Enchanter had 2-3 cyclopses at a time, and still had few problems . . . all thanks to a lowly enchanter pet.

Man, those pets suck.

You cant trickstors aug a pet....
RE: Chanter Pets
# Oct 18 2002 at 5:13 AM Rating: Default
Yup, you just won't get the illusion out of it... on another note, does anyone else agree that enchanters should be able to animate armor?

Like... get different spells per spell circle that basically acts as summoning a warrior of equal level or some such, with stats based on the piece of armor on your cursor.

That's be REALLY nifty, doncha think? And if it has an effect, they'd be able to use it and such, and you'd be able to give it weapons like a normal pet, and it'd just be a disembodied floating piece of armor. That'd be really cool...

Like, say, the Iron Golems in Diablo II? Gotta love original ideas that aren't. =)

RE: fekkin sux
# Aug 05 2002 at 12:18 PM Rating: Decent
This doesnt necessarily suck... Like its stated in other posts: Just as your pet is about to die, just target your pet and click away and watch your mana bar jump up a smidge. A little bit of mana and no pet is better then no pet, no mana, LOADING, PLEASE WAIT....

I'm not sure why you'd want to finish off your pet instead of trying to save him, because if you're soloing and your pet dies, you're going to be running pretty soon, not to mention you'll just have to summon a new one and use far more mana than you just gained by right clicking this bracer. These aren't horrible, but there's always some pieces that aren't as good as the rest. I just wish Verant wouldn't have made the Velious quest armor bracers/slippers/leggings the "worst" pieces of the set, similar to these same pieces in the insidious set. Makes it much harder to upgrade. Ah well, I'll keep my GCB and SBH. ;)
hah
# Jan 29 2002 at 1:35 AM Rating: Default
Yeah, when was the last time I used a summoned pet? Oh yeah, level 8 hunting spiders in North Ro. Chanters don't get pets, the things chanters get just take a few hits and die, you cannot control them.
Chain Casting Pets
# Dec 11 2001 at 3:53 AM Rating: Default
The time you want to use this is when chain casting pets.. your pet is about to die, so you cast another and when the casting bar is at the appropriate point you use Reclaim Energy to get rid of the first and get back a portion of the mana the new pet is costing you.. truly efficient..

I agree that charming is the better option where you have more than one of the mob you are killing. but that isnt always the case.. sometimes a cast pet is the best way to go.. especially with the higher level pets.

Stats on this arent much, but if you hunting with your pet, its a darn nice way to free a slot.. and who cares about int anyway? if im not mezzing in a group (or charming) i dont need a lot of cha and will have int to burn.. +2 int and +20 mana is fine.. its the effect that rocks here!
RE: Chain Casting Pets
# Mar 03 2002 at 7:10 PM Rating: Default
LOL
First off I have never seen an enchanter chain pet. The pet isn't worth the mana, even with reclaim energy.

Secondly, even if one wanted to for some reason, what you said to do won't work. Because the right click effect counts as a spell...ie when you right click it when your new pet is almost cast, it will say you cant.

Admittedly, this is a pretty sucky effect to have on a quest item, but if I happen to come across the quest pieces, I'll do the quest. Since the 49 pet, I use it on occasion. I can be found soloing the new light blue mobs at times if I'm bored, or if I'm in a truly unusual group and actually need the "tank" of my pet. If that happens, I'm obviously not in a dungeon and don't need to worry about adds, but if the puller happens to bring back more than he intended and I have to mez, reclaim energy might be a nice quick way for an enchanter to "/pet back off".... just a thought.
Don't settle

Guys please. Verant has no notion of how we feel about things. They systematicaly put useless effects and stats on items supposedly class specific. Unless we directly post on the developers corner they will put useless stuff like this on the items. i.e. +1 stamina: do you know how badly casters calculate hp:stam? this is just and example. So if someone says that this effect is useless, it is in fact useless. How many items do enchanters get that have ANY right clickable effects. I would think the craftsman that went through the trouble to do such would actually put great thought in putting a very usefull effect otherwise don't waste ours/your time.

Once again, I make sure I post on the developers forumn.

Effect
# Feb 09 2001 at 8:22 AM Rating: Default
Thats a laughable effect for such a quest item.
I almost never summon a pet and most time it gets killed by some mob. There were even much better effects possible for a quest item.
RE: Effect
# Feb 09 2001 at 8:55 AM Rating: Decent
This is useful to cast on a pet right before it is about to die. Its something I would do normally but only 8 spell slots make them to valuable to memorize reclaim energy. I don't mind it being on a peice of equipment, saves me having to use a spell slot.
RE: Effect
# Feb 09 2001 at 1:11 PM Rating: Decent
Excellent idea. At level 49, you get 150 mana back from reclaiming a dying pet.
RE: Effect
# Feb 09 2001 at 5:24 PM Rating: Default
yeah it would be an excellent idea cept as a chanter i havnt used a pet since lvl 29 cept maybe to kill a single named mob or hold an already broken spawn
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 09 2001 at 4:59 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yeah this is a stupid silly worthless quest item you have to risk death and do a lot of boring useless work to get, like 99% of the quests in EQ.
RE: Effect
# Feb 10 2001 at 4:59 AM Rating: Default
If it weren't an Enchanter's pet, I'd agree, but the fact that you can't "/pet calm down" makes it tricky to reclaim your pet between when you need the mana and whatever it is you're fighting kills it. All in all, I agree; useless in the circumstance given.
RE: Effect
# Feb 10 2001 at 9:16 PM Rating: Excellent
Why do people complain about items with FREE effects?
Oh, wow, it doesn't cast clarity II or an AE mez.. umm.. hello? 150 mana back if you are using a pet.. if you don't feel like using a pet, use a different item.
ANY spell is decent, if it is FREE.

And barely better than cloth?? OK!
I'll trade you TWO cloth for one, k? (well, help me do the quest, and I'll hook you up with TWO.. count 'em two cloth braces. whee

You sir are a moron to think this POS wristband is worth wearing at the levels required to do this quest. Enchanters rarely use pets after their 20s so the effect is worthless. By the way I think so much of reclaim energy that I never bought it and I am a 57th lvl chanter. This quest item is a slap in the face almost as much as the POS insedious wrist band.

#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 12 2001 at 12:18 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I use pets all the time to solo, I think this makes it even easier. Any enchanter that doesnt THINK about ALL the options available to them is the true moron.
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 15 2001 at 10:52 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hahaha Dope you are such a FOOKING moron i guess you are prolly level 16 hmm cuz thats when i stopped using my pet. You go ahead and think that im stupid but while you are are burning mana to keep your sorry *** pet alive i will be waiting on a spawn of 7 giants so that i can make disposable pets and yes i can clear out a 7 spawn giant camp in no time and be sitting around waiting alot faster than you would with your dope 'option' pet.... Disposable pets rule enchanters use them 8)
RE: Dope
# Feb 15 2001 at 2:04 PM Rating: Decent
Funny. I used a pet when trying to get the Ancient clops to spawn for the jboots quest in sro. I would tash mobs in the zone, they would hit me once, then die by my pet. When fear kiting the AC, it hit me once, then I feared it and waited for my dumb pet to kill the AC.
Worked ok for me.
#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 06 2001 at 7:56 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I have to agree with our close minded insulting friend (much as it pains me). Although I use pets occasionally, I never use them in situations where this effect would be worthwhile. When clearing out greens that my pet can wipe up (translate as half my level or less) is the only use I really find for a pet. That or killing high green or low blue named spawns that spawn ALONE. In all other scenario's charm dominates. In the above scenario's I don't need a storable mana battery in a pet. I honestly don't think I'd wear these wrists in place of gold cats eye bracers. I always love more cha.

Thats how you reclaim the mana from a pet. It kills your pet and gives you some mana in return.
