what does place holder mean

A "place holder" (or "PH") is the title given to describe a creature that must be killed in order for a specific creature to spawn. In this case you can not get the greenblood zombie to appear until the some aligators have been killed.
This seemed rather obvious to me from doublev's post ("I finally found it").
BTW, good post DoubleV!

what lvl
# Nov 16 2001 at 2:23 AM Rating: Decent
I'm a druid halfling wondering when I can handle this part of the quest? How many others should I have in my group? Any ideas or suggestions?
I finaly found it
# Oct 11 2001 at 6:45 AM Rating: Excellent
Ok, here's the deal. I had a hard time finding this zombie. But with the combination of all clues beneath i was able to find the greenblood zombie. When you come from the ogre town, follow the path until you reach the bridge. Cross over and then turn left. At a certain point you'll see a lizardmans camp near the water. That's the point where you should dive in the water. If no zombie(s) is/are visible, the aligator's will be there. Kill one or more of the crocks since they are placeholders for the greenblood zombie. Wait for a few minutes and dive in the water again. The zombie(s) should have spawned and you can kill them. Try to kill them in the water to avoid the bouncers. I was lucky and found the flesh on the first kill.

Good Luck

I have an Ogre warrior... and if anyone ever played an Ogre, you would come to hate Greenblood zombies at an early age. Just run near the river banks; I always see them, especially in the river between Innothule Swamp and the Temple of CT.

PS - watch out for the Bouncers, they'll attack you while you fight the Greenbloods even if you are an Ogre.
my two cents

I am in the process of camping him right now and I found him on track but someone killed it. When I got out of the water Roror was there (the named lizzie). No players were there so he must have been killed by that lizzie, at least I think so. Good luck.

I think if the lizzie killed him he would have poofed, had to be a PC that you didn't see.
how to find the swollen flesh
# May 11 2001 at 1:59 AM Rating: Default
I was completely unable to find the alligator swarm that many people have mentioned here. It is possible this anomaly is server dependent. I am on the Druzzil Ro server. I was able to get myself a piece of Swollen Flesh after killing two Greenbloods and spending about 30 mins tracking them around. I found that they spawn every 2-5 minutes on the western branch of the river and then despawn less than a minute later. Many times I would find them on tracker and they would disappear before I could arrive or they would pop and then disappear when I came closer. Sort of frustrating and lame, but wasn't too hard when all was said and done.
location for greenblood zombies
# Apr 11 2001 at 7:57 AM Rating: Default
i went to the locations below around pos 194 etc.... did not see any gators or any zombies, I was on the bank right next to the lizard camp. Is this the right location? Is this quest nerfed? Do I have to be in the water? I tried that and cold see anything :( All help is greatly appreciated as I would really love this anklet.

The definitive answer

Ok here's the scoop on the greenblood zombie. In Feerott, in the river south of the bridge approximate location 190, 500 is a bunch of alligators. These alligators are the place holder for the zombie. Kill them all and you'll have plenty of zombies for the taking.

Enjoy your Acolytes Anklet!!

You are so correct. Thank you! Got it on my first drop. Try to kill it in the water to aviod the bouncers.

SO much easier than that damn alligator skin, back to Innothule and the bulls

greenblood zombie
# Mar 04 2001 at 2:39 PM Rating: Decent
ok heres the deal, this is what i have heard from others, the greenblood zombie is a 4 day spawn (real life time) he spawns where all the other zombies and such spawn. the best way to do this is to camp right infront of the zombie "camp" and just bomb them and kill them until he spawns or mabie when you log back on he might just be popped. but i know this quest isnt broken because i have seen a few high levels wearing the anklet, and its really good for wis casters because its NO DROP armor and unlike the effreeti boots which can be bought. thanks for your time

The Greenblood spawns at around positive 194 north, in the river. Look for all the alligators, but watch out for the Bouncer!

And he spawns much more often than once per 4 RL days. I saw about 9 of them total while I was out there with a friend looking for flesh. 3 depopped because they got stuck on the coast, 3 were killed by Bouncer Hurd, 1 had no flesh, and the last two both did.

The Zombie

Where on Earth does the Green Blood Zombie Spawn? I looked around with my Cleric and my Druid and couldn't find one with sense the dead or track. Am I missing something?
RE: The Zombie
# Apr 14 2001 at 2:25 AM Rating: Decent
As an ogre shammie that has spent a lot of time in the feerot, i can tell you that the only times i have ever seen the Greenblood Zombie, it was in the river, south of the bridge, near where the alligator usually are. Never seem to see both. so, alligators probably are the place holders.

#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 18 2001 at 9:57 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I agree. It's a shame that some people have to be harmful instead of helpfull. Norrath would be a much better place without these types of players.
