Well, first I had to learn to communicate with the fish head. Apparently they're highly poisonous and are believed to possess magical properties. Indeed, young shiliskin who are training to become healers take part in a ritual that involves eating an entire deathshed mushroom. Those that survive the ritual tend to experience strange, feverous dreams of the shiliskin afterlife and awaken with rudimentary powers. I guess even the older, tougher shiliskin eat pieces for power.
