What Level?

Does this item work below 44??
Charming
# Jun 16 2003 at 6:42 PM Rating: Decent
Could a necro level 60 with dire charm cast ignite bones and while the enemy is a skele, could they then dire charm it? and more in depth, after they did that, could they cast augment death on it while its still in skele form? :) that would be great
RE: Charming

Ignite Bones only gives the target Illusion: Skeleton, it doesn't actually turn undead.

Probably a good thing, too, as us SU3 pallies would probably harass necros to no end =p

Hung out with a guy on my server Anarik. He was using this nifty bracelet and did as much damage with it as I do with my jaundiced bracer.

eff is like 580dmg or somethin with 15 second cast time (approx). Basically same damage output as jaundiced bracer, making this an awesome raid item provided your tanks arent too stupid to find a red skeleton.

I'm sure you could solo with this bracer but not the way you think... You'd need to pull with epic, root mob and click bracer. duck and reroot when root breaks (almost every click).

If you figure it out root costs 100 mana and yer doin like 580 dmg or somethin every 15 seconds or so. Basically this combined with root becomes more efficient than any dot in your book. Don't work on the 51+ mobs you'd like to kill at lvl 60, but hell, that would just be cheap.

The problem with the ignite bones and chill bones spell is not that they change the mob into an illusion of a skeleton. The problem is the mob's size changes to that of a skeleton as well. So that HUGE dragon or giant your melee were engaging at maximum melee range are out of melee range while the mob is a skeleton. That is really the problem. It is difficult to pack alot of melee around a small skeleton. Many melee go AFK during a fight anyway...so who cares if the mob LOOKS different. The problem is the SIZE change that goes along with the illusion.

So melee have good reason to complain if a necro is blasting large creatures with IB/CB.
RE: Bracelet ownz
# Oct 08 2003 at 4:20 PM Rating: Decent
The advatage of turning a large mob to a smaller skeleton is that it makes it easier to push around and thereby interupt casting. We used to use this in HoT on the gating dragons. Worked well. I don't remember having any problems staying in melee range. Of course, no melee afks, since we were constantly switching sides with the MT to avoid pushing into a corner or into adds.
RE: Bracelet ownz
# Feb 28 2003 at 12:23 PM Rating: Excellent
Aye mellee use range as a way to help manage aggro of big mobs. MA up close, SA a bit behind him, all other mellee at max range. Casting a IB/CB can really fork that up. Those spells are really only good for soloing and sometimes grouping. But lets face it with the new dd's necro's get IB is only cool on this bracer.

"many melee go afk during a fight"

i got a laugh out of that, the thing is tho, i imagine they do, click autoattack, then go get a beer, doesnt suprise me at all.........
RE: Bracelet ownz
# Oct 31 2001 at 4:55 PM Rating: Decent
Actually, if you are going to nuke, you should use the 34 root because it uses less manna and is just as likely to break when nuked. Paralizing Earth, Enstill, Imobilize, etc only have a greater benifit when you do not intend to DD (i.e., root to escape or let them cook). But even if your pet is going to be attacking, the DD that he procs can break the root.

/agree i used my lowest lvl root when soloing the elysians cuz of the long time it lasted and cuz it was nice and cheap...
Who is Velector
# Jun 01 2001 at 10:57 PM Rating: Default
Velector is Sorcerer is the "Boss" mob in Velector's Labrynth. You used to kill him by sending 80 55+ at him and whack him down to 40%, then rez everybody in and finish him off (he'd be up to 60% or so by the time you were done). But from what I understand they "fixed" his regen so you can't go after him in waves...so not sure how difficult it is to kill him. I'm not even sure he's killed very much any more. Getting this item would be...difficult.

Velk can easily be beaten down with 30-40 (non uber) peeps, he is far easier than DtV if you don't interrupt his castings (except the final gate if you don't fight him at the throne room): when he casts he doesn't hit, and that's good

RE: Who is Velector

Mebe is not sure that there is space for 80 folks in the throne room. We took him down last night in basically two passes. (Once we knew what we were doing -- no one in the guild even knew where he was in Velks when we started the raid.)

Staffing for the raid was right around 5 groups. We had folks there as low as 49, but the core tanking was done by 3 level 60 warriors and this fight, as many, was all about aggro management and good healing. It was also about having the right camp and CRing fast if you wipe the first time. Our guild is a litte low on damage output. Both passes, we stood him up well into the third tank's defensive to take more than half of his health.
RE: Who is Velector
# Jun 28 2001 at 12:45 AM Rating: Decent
'80 55+ at him'? Don't do it!

My guild took down Velk tonight on Fennin Ro in one attempt, using 35 people. Getting this item is indeed difficult - but only because it does not drop off Velk every time.

You don't need to do 'waves'; you don't need to do 80 people in an attempt to zerg him. You need co-ordination, communication, and the correct strategy to keep your main tank(s) alive.
The Word on Bracer
# Jun 01 2001 at 10:54 PM Rating: Default
I have one of these bracers and I have to tell you it is AWSOME! Easily the best item out there for a necro. If you are doing a challenging camp you will add 1k+ damage to all encounters and allows you to even do damage when low on mana (and that doesn't even go into the stats). Make a sit down hot key and you can med while it casts. 15 second cast time seems like a lot- but the spell is huge aggro so it takes a very good group to keep it aggro'd off you when chain casting the item. What makes it so good is that Necros are the DoT kings...so we cast our dots and sit down and wait for them to do their damage. Now we can do even MORE damage while we wait! Not a soloing item for sure - but in a group situation...nothing is better.

The sit down cast method on clickable spells no longer works. Still an awsome wrist item. Just not quite AS awsome.
RE: The Word on Bracer
# May 13 2003 at 7:23 AM Rating: Default
Actually, If you have a mount, you can sit cast this and other clicky items while "sitting". Yes, I know not everyone has a mount, but the cheep one is only 9k. For that 9k you get to be medding all the time, it aids you in your dot agro management, and you can use your clicky effect items while you and your lich are filling your mana back up. It is the slowest one, but if you need speed then just click him off and run, post 51 a necro should have run speed 3 anyway. Just my two coppers...
Cast time.
# May 29 2001 at 7:54 AM Rating: Decent
What's the cast time on the effect? I know most item effects don't have the same cast time as the actual spell.

Is everyone missing the point the this is a "WRIST" item with 9INT and 45 mana and 10ac for anecro? Arent these good enough to stop ******** about whether or not CHA does what people think it does LOL comon people. HUmmm how many wizards would give a ton of money for a 9 int 45 mana 10 ac bracer? I know I would pay dearly for one. Just a rambling wizards...well..umm...ramble.

CHA
# Apr 15 2001 at 9:21 PM Rating: Default
I play a 53 Necromancer. I have had and fought with CHA at 15 up to 99. CHA helps when selling to vendors and charming undead only. I have seen no significant difference when STing, crappy Necro mez/mem blur, or Fearing. To my knowledge, CHA used to effect these things but was soon scrapped.
-char better
# Apr 15 2001 at 8:20 PM Rating: Default
I have heard for a necro and sk less char = longer fear lasts ... kinda makes sense if ya think about it.
RE: -char better
# May 25 2001 at 9:54 AM Rating: Excellent
You are correct. Fear does last longer if you have a low cha. Lasts longer on YOU.
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 06 2001 at 7:45 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You people just make shiz up.. Cha is a myth even for most enchanter spells... It's all about your lvl vs the lvl of the mob ... nuff said

nuff said? sound like you are in grade school trying to end an argument becuse you are loseing

CHA hase little to no effect on Necro spells. NOW..But back in the Beta it did have an effect on Resists of ALL spells.. for ALL casters.. But as EQ evolved CHA was decited to be drops from most caster... save, Enchanters wich CHA primlay effecrs Resist rates on Mez/Stuns and the Durations of Charm

As for Necro CHA's use to effect the Resist rates of Fear,Charm and if i remeber right the Darkness line of Spells.. But that was changed vary early in the Beta

And just in case your not shure man...
SoW dose make you run faster
STR Does make you hit harder
DEX does effect Proc rates
AGI does help you from being hit
STA does effect your Max HP
INT is just something you lack
WIZ *see above*

You're the same type of person that would be stupid enough to say that Dex doesn't help with proccing on weapons... as with str doesn't make you do more damage... Or maybe SoW doesn't make you run faster... get a clue bud =)
RE: Har!
# Apr 23 2001 at 3:42 PM Rating: Default
ummm excuse me but str doesnt make u hit harder str raises your attack and your attack decides your dmg so really it does but not directly
#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 20 2001 at 1:29 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) umm you are excused yes it does make you hit harder. Even a lowbie like you should be able to tell that. Ohh wait I'm sorry you gotta be atleast level 20 to see it happening. I guess you either dont play EQ or are sub 20. With an uber STR buff on my twink 23 rogue he backstabs for 99 max. w/o the uber strength buff he hits for 91max. Regular hits are for 21max with str buff they go up to 23max. Can you pls tell me now how INT does not effect your total mana? Thx info~
RE: Har!
# Apr 07 2001 at 12:19 PM Rating: Decent
Charisma has no effect on fear or screaming terror. That is a myth.

Charisma does affect charm undead, but in the exact same way that it helps enchanter charms. More = good.

But of course you don't *have* to believe anything. You can go right ahead and believe all the rumors you want.
Our dd sucks
# Jan 17 2001 at 4:21 PM Rating: Decent
Well we can all dream about this:) Only problem is that it isnt stackable...but I have read they might change this. When I look at this item I compare it to a JBB, which can be chain-casted. Ignite cant be and who ever is higher will stick. Because of the skeleton form it cant be stacked for like 10-15 secs. This is another reason why necros who group together need to figure out who's casting what. MAJOR aggro also.

RE: CHA?
# Aug 23 2001 at 4:01 PM Rating: Default
Just to let u all know, all of you who claim that fear and ST are effected by CHR are idiots.

Lawrence Poe (the spell guy at EQ) verified on the official dev boards that necro fear and stun were charisma based in beta only and this was removed when the game went live.

If you dont believe me then go post on the official board and get yer damn answer.

Aye it assists with a target's saves vs. Fear. The higher the Cha the better chance your Fear spell is gonna stick.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 16 2001 at 4:51 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) cha and fear dont work like that the lower your cha the better chance fear has to stick and will last. And someone said something about cha helping necro charms, necros can charm undead cha doesnt help it hurts against undead. and Mes which I assume you mean ST is a set time so cha doesnt effect that either. +cha doesnt help a necro in doing anything but buy and sell to NPC's.
RE: CHA?
# Jan 16 2001 at 10:11 PM Rating: Default
ST is NOT a set time, sorry. I've seen it break anywhere from a second or so after I get it on the mob, to as many as 10. It DOES seem to be charisma based, as when I had a cha of around 30 I could never get it to stick, and now with 65 I'm getting somewhat better success. Undead charms--the same. On Fear I've never noticed much difference between 30 cha and 65.
RE: CHA?
# Apr 07 2001 at 12:22 PM Rating: Good
Screaming Terror *is* set time, but of course like other mez spells it'll break if the mob recieves damage from any source, ie. DoT's or your pet.

Well I see they finally a item worth the trouble for those of us who would rather do without some items , nice effect on it as well , only thing now is how tough is the mob and how often does he drop it ? Well one way to find out and go try him with a good group. any one know what lvl this guys runs at ? Oh wait he is 66 well hehe i wi.l never get to wear that bracer but i can dream. :)
