it has nothing to do with the quality of the weapon. yes we all know it sucks. it just something you want to have. why, cause it's cool looking. or maybe because simply why not. the point is many people just want thier epic as a source of pride (myself included) and it doesn't matter if it's on par with a rusty longsword or not.

My guild hit CT last week, CT DID NOT Drop this however Golems did drop one. Went to an epic sk (GL) because me being the only other SK in the guild that plays at all (ironlically I dont have this piece yet for epic) was out of the country for the holidays and missed the raid. But since its MQ'able i'm happy

I will personaly KILL any warrior who will demand to roll on this if there is a single non epic Sk present. The widebladed greatswords 35/35 with tonn of stats ROTTING on bazar for under 3k
I am sure epic seakign Sk will pay of warrior 3k to get him decent 2hs to get his epic piece. Considering that SKs epic is hardest one to do (personaly i think SK reward is one fo the worst, and i can get better wepon in POP raid or Bazaar, but that just me)

Sign me up, I'd guild raid the warrior that wants to roll :P. True SK e[ic isnt hardest.... alone Id say Paly/SK epics are about equal in their own way :). Both got their share of gimp mobs and real pain in the **** mobs. And the spawn times on some are... forget it... they insane up to a week on some =O. Anyway... this is one piece I still got to get for my SK, just got to get guild up and going.

1. SK epic is not the hardest.

2. All classes can get better gear than their epic very easily, but it is the personal satisfaction of completing the quest.

Achieving the reward of an epic is more important to a lot of people that the stats on the item.

not the hardest to do in difficulty factor, just the hardest to complete due to rarity of the drops... mainly this blade from the golems and the hide from drakes in Hate.

This is for the shadow knight epic...

On lanys it would only go to a shadow knight if one was on the raid.

If not then a warrior would get it and bank it after a while for a Reaver.

Truely there is no point for a warrior to ever get this item.... Not so Pre-Kanark... but that time is long past.

This is an epic piece not something for a lowbie warrior

Sword is rare if a SK did need for epic im sure the guild would let just the SK's roll on it not the warriors... if the guild let warriors roll on it when a SK did need for epic then there n00bs... anyways my pet can use a sprioc blade..:)

Let me be clear on this. Any raid I run no Warrior would ever roll on this any more than I'd let an SK roll on the hand of the maestro.

Suck it up. If you cant be a team player when it comes to loot, you wont be for the fight either and non team players dont belong on raids.

If a warrior is going to use it, that is fine. A little on the cheap side perhaps and indicative of someone who values rugged individualism over being a team player, but it is fair and I would never argue with it if the guild supported it. However, if someone rolls for it just because they can, uses it for a week because its new, and then adds it to the collection of cool weapons that sits in the bank, it would be nice if that person let the SK have it. I know if I was on a raid with my SK and a warrior rolled for it and did not use it I would remember that for a very long time.

Ok, seems to be alot of confusion. This sword drops now from Fright, Dread, and Terror. Cazic Thule has all new drops. What he used to drop is now dropped by these three and I have heard Dracoliche, but have not verified this. Now here's how you get it.

1) Create a character
2) Gain levels by fighting, not by asking some higher level to PL you.
3) Have a good reputation throughout your time in Norrath.
4) Get in to a Fear Raid after you have leveled to 46.
5) Fight, die, and fight again (good possibility this step will be repeated).
6) IF this drops, you roll for the item, but ONLY IF YOU CAN USE IT.
7) If you win the roll, USE IT. Before the epics were introduced, this was considered by most to be one of te best swords in the game, and certainly is still up there.
8) If you don't win the roll, congradulate the one who did and be a good sport. Chances are, if your a good sport about it, they will help you get one later.

Here it all is. You may begin the flaming now.

I got mine a couple weeks ago, I was rather excited and didnt check the name of the corpse (there were two raids there at the time, Forlorn was going for CT, and we were just there for the armor, since we were there first, we got anything that dropped of anything other than CT him self and this was one of em... back to the point, the corpse looked like an ammy knight but i didnt check and there were AOLT of peeps standing around it and it was a bit laggy, even with cable so im not positive but i believe that it came from the ammy knight...

After the last patch this now drops of the name golems (boss mobs) in Fear. It no longer drops from CT himself. What I find odd is Verant has stated the Epic peices were to be a bit more common now, yet I have been to Fear 15 times in a row (leading 7 picks and begging at attend 8 raids of guilds with no expetation of any loot and was willing to only roll for this item) and guess what? Not a single Soul Leach dropped. NOT ONE. Also the Blade of Aborgation is a lot more rare now as well. I remember as many 5 dropping per PoA clearing. Now I have heard guilds clearing PoA twice (one each RL day for two days) and not a single Blade dropped. Verant has always looked down upon us SK's (but is a rant all in itself). Now with the "updated" drop rates, we are going to find the items we need all that much more rare.

We just spent 2 days in PoA on Xegony and got 3 BoA drops. We stayed 4 hours per night. Only the Bard haste belts was droppin as often =)

No, the SK epic does not proc 'Soul Leech', SK epic procs 'Soul Consumption'

Soul Leech is a DD lifetap, Soul Consumption is 250 lifetap DoT.

And you are correct, Soul Leech is not a fake :)

this weapon was also here long before the epic quests were and pre-kunark, and the epics werent ment to be easy, so this is still a pretty good weapon to have and i wouldnt turn it in til you have the rest of the epic done
