Sorry but the theory about killing light blues to level items faster is 100% false. ALL of my evovling items have leveled fastest by killing QUALITY mobs over quantity. For example, my cloak of the spirit tracker typically will gain 10% of a level for every 69.1 HARD mission I do, which consists of high hp, red drachnids. By contrast, I went over to grieg's end, and killed non-stop solo for over 2 hours straight, and gained less than 5% of a level on the cloak.

The amount of exp the mob gives plays a big role in amount of time it takes to level an item - exactly as it is for gaining regular or aa exp for players. THAT is the truth about evolving items.

Might have been that your kill rate in GE was slow, before evolving xp change and after I can still level up items faster soloing in GE then I can in groups. Then again I can take out half of GE before repops start.

I bought loot rights to this little gem and have it to 5/10 after casual playing for about two weeks. It is sluggish to level, but after the most recent patch, I can get 1% per 2 kills in a full Nest instance group on this thing. 200 mobs per level is still a lot, being 2000 mobs from 1/10 to 10/10 for this thing, but I think the reward is worth the work -- especially considering my alternative weapon choices.

Actually the key to exping an evolving weapon is just to kill mobs that give any amount of exp. Chances are soloing you killed more mobs than you would in RSS becuase the mobs you solo would be easier. If you kill a whole bunch of light blues, that would be the way to go to exp an evolving weapon.

So in theory with the bandolier i can fight with regular weapons and switch in the evolver for the xp gain and lvl weapons that way ) ill give it a go lol

The evolving item needs to be equipped for the entire duration of the fight and if it is removed, even for a moment with a bandolier, it will not gain any experience.

It appears very much as if the way to exp this weapon up is by getting the kill shot. I was able to move it along far better by soloing then when I had a group in RSS.
