Someone did a poor job at Forging the pic of the dusty breastplate, sad that somone can't even take a real picture. My newbie halfling warrior is wearing one of these, seems they sell for around 600pp on Quellious but they are indeed annoying to obtain.
about monk, sometime a Gm or guide have a "special" character like halfing monk, yes :) i guess that why we can found this strange thing on some item like this bp :)

I traded one for an blackened iron coif to a guild member *cries*. A 1kpp item for a 200pp item. Ugh, going to log on now and beat the crap out of him until he gives it back to me (I play on VZ)

First and foremost, a tracker is absolutely *required*. More trackers placed in the corners will speed it up though.
You can try to get lucky and catch some of the names as they roam by (I know the general location of the named in the SE corner, but I still miss them 75% of the time).
OK, there are 3 corners that have spawns in them: The Southeast, Southwest, and Northwest.
The Southeast is the beginning of the cycle, and as soon as the named/PH for that corner drops, the named/PH for the southwest will spawn, when that one dies, the named/PH for the NW spawns, and then back to the Southeast.
If you have multiple people camping the cycle, you should spread your trackers to the corners and keep them there, then put your heavy hitters in the southwest corner, one healer in the SE, and maybe one nuker in the NW (cenobite heals and nukes, so it's a pain to melee him down by yourself). If done right, and you can track and kill quickly, a cycle can actually be done in less than 2 minutes. I did it one time with me (cleric), my bard friend, a druid and a wizard. The druid pulled for the SE and SW, the Wizard nuked the giants, and the bard and I took care of the NW corner, we were doing a full cycle every couple of minutes or so.
The Southeast corner has all goblins. The unnamed PH here is "a" goblin raider. Must have the a.
The Southwest corner has all giants. The PH here is a Mountain Giant Hillock, which sometimes can be a little tricky to pinpoint.
The Northwest corner has all Burynai. The PH here is a burynai miner, which is super common in the zone, but not in that corner.
There are about 5 individual named mobs that may spawn in each corner, as well as one placeholder. Some of the items you get from the lesser named mobs (goblin trailblazer's knife, goblin-head spear) sell for good cash at merchants (50pp+). Otherwise, the "good" spawns (grand cenobite, blugtuggin) are just a matter of luck.
Just wanted to reply on the following statement of the original post : 'a tracker is absolutely required'. Although a tracker may be very useful, it is not really necessary. Im a shaman, and I have done the cycle a couple times already (solo), always without tracking of course, and have no problem finding the mobs. The mobs on the cycle only roam around within a certain boundary, and only the NW corner is a large territory. Moreover, the mobs always seem to follow the same route/pattern, so after a while you know where they will be. Checking out this pattern is also a good way to determine which one is the PH, if more than one are up.
Note to druids: if you've just come from the SE corner and you're looking for the Hillock placeholder, it will always be the topmost one on your tracking list (since we only get one way to sort it - by most recent).
Thanks for the info Blackdeath - I am sure people have known about this for a while but have been farming the items for themselves. Finally someone who can see past the greed.
I have crossposted this info to hopefully help others get some nice gear.
I collected 4 Dusty BP (and about 20 other items)while trying to get my med totem - sold all for the price of 250 - 350. I know this is low but it is a fair price as it is not a hard item to get, it is Lore, and as Tallon-Zek is full of Twinks of loading cheap gear. Had immediate sales on each occasion.

Then say
I collected 4 Dusty BP (and about 20 other items)while trying to get my med totem
I may be wrong and do not wish to start a major discussion, but IMHO farming is the act of camping an area for the sole purpose of making money, keeping others from the opportunity of obtaining an item other than purchasing it from the farmers, and thus flooding the market with the same items lowering the value of that item and taking the joy from many of going out and procuring the item on their own... whew !
The statement "while trying to get my med totem" qualifies what that person was doing... attempting to complete an objective. My guess is they moved on once thier objective had been reached.
Just my long-winded 2 coppers... Safe paths and great fortunes to you all

I don't know about you, but the graphic looks kind of cool. It has similar color of Crafted but different skin to it. Saw it on a dorf - may be different by race.
As of today with the patch this bp has an icon to it. It's actually very nice looking :) is a little bit lighter than the charred guardian bp and has lots of designs on it.
Its the same old platemail graphic except its gray. I got one today. I am a Bard and checked it in WE and DE form. Still not to bad, and easy to get if you know the cycle.
I currently have one and it looks like you are wearing no bp at all when equipped. I am currently selling one on Mithaniel Marr 1kpp. (you will endure much teasing about l ooking naked.)
Hmm... let's see... you posted that reply almost a month after he originally posted. I dunno... maybe they changed it sometime in the 4 or 5 (it seems) patches they have every month. Just a thought... I'm probably WAY off <rolls eyes>
This item is as real as any item in eq I have personly seen it nice stats but it has no graphics to bad keeps others from wanting to wear it or to buy it...KT
it has graphics! it is gray balc! as was already said! all i can think of is there was a bug earlier and they fixed it with the patch, but let me tell you, it has graphics and now i am mismatching dorf-man!
ok so how many of you "experts" of fake pics who pulled apart the pic of this item feel like complete idiots now that these things are up for sale on every server
didnt i read somewhere on this site that each peice is verified in game before being listed?
Look at it this way, mate...all of those who cry fake at the equipment on this site, since this happens at an alarming frequency, have one thing in common...
...none of them have the items they've dissmissed. =)

I know people will believe what they want, but I got one last night helping some guildies with the med totem "circle" (got 4 totems btw). There are quite a few mistypings on armor pieces that are new, thats why they have patches. The ac rocks, but I think I shall keep my Ro BP. It looks better than the dusty, which looks kinda dark blueish with green highlights on a dwf, but not as cool as that sounds, kinda ugly. There isn't that much difference between the AC and I really dont wanna give up my str bonus for sta and hps. Besides, did I say that it is ugly, hehe, not quite as ugly as the treeweave, which I would wear if it were dwf equippable, DAMMIT ;^)
Hey to all you who think this is a fake. I sent in this pick after Dusty dropped it 3 times in a row on me. All i did was copy and paste the image in mspaint. Sorry to disappoint all you fools but this is just how it dropped. Not sure if i could produce a fake if i wanted to, hell i couldnt even figure out how to sign it without it looking all screwed up ;p
Wearablity is a simple math problem. If Class A can wear this they must be of Race X but if neither Class A or Race X is not listed they cannt wear it.
