dropped from a werewolf outside of the bloodeye instance today
Dropped today from "a blood spider" in Undershore, not far from the zone-in from Corathus Creep.

Was camping the shank for 12 1/2 hours and about the 6th hour this dropped. My pal was like you take it has no stats I was ok. Well I wore and keep an eye on it from time to time and it went from AC 6 +6 all stats 80 mana hits +4 rengeration to AC 20 +13 all stats 210 mana and hitpoints and +8 rengeration. I was totally amazed though I didn't get the shank this is good for a door prize. Your post TPAO your the one thats full of CRAP.

Dropped off a ragepaw mob in the northwest corner of the zone this evening... looks to be a random zone-wide drop. Haven't paid much attention to the stats yet, but augs work the same as they do on all charms.
The charm constantly bears the stats of the aug, regardless of what the current stats of the charm itself happen to be. Slipgear's gem does not adjust its stats according to the fluctuation of the charm. If ya hadn't already figured this out, there ya go.

Just checked... Current stats on the charm are higher than the max listed above, as of 01/10/07.

Confirmed; had similar stats on mine today ... was definitely +110 HP/Mana/End; that was combined with +7 to all other stats and +4 regeneration

Dropped for me today off an Illsalin Shaman.
Most of the time for me, it has no stats at all..when it does have stats, it's better than Defenders battletested pin (of course my adventure stone isn't no where near maxed).

Droped from Witheran Gnasher loc pos1200 pos100 on August 27, 2006 (great place for Witheran loot farming). Very rare drop as I killed maybe 150 Witherans since DoD was released.

Whoever said this is a COMMON drop is Full of CRAP!!! Flat out. It is I would say ULTRA RARE as Ultra Rare can get. I have killed these mobs trying to get A Twisted Shank on the Freemind. I have only had it drop 1 time in I know has to be over thousand mobs at minimum. I spent a whole week on vacation goofing around on EQ trying to get stupid Shank and am telling you this thing has ONLY dropped 1 time. Also the stats can do pretty much anything just like it says (AT its own Whim ) does whatever it wants changes stats every so often. Is a VERY very cool item I have way better but just like to wear it sometimes to see what happens on it kinda neat. One of the neat cool things to get for fun. So GOOD LUCK if you trying to get it I got it by just pure accident did not know what it did until after I got it and checked it out.
ALSO the stats can go WAY up and have real cool other goodies so dont take what has been posted as Written into Stone. Anyone who says they know the max stats ect. is also full of Crap.

Any place special this drops in Undershore? Or any of the snakes, basiliks,croathus's etc... drop this in any part of the zone?
Been here for days over the ledge and to the right by the water killing these, and nothing yet.

Does anyone have a guesstimate as to how frequently the stats change, or if there was any kind of pattern anyone has noticed? Once an hour?, Day?, Every 5 minutes?, Completely random?

I just got one of these today and the max stats are as follow:
AC: 15
STR,STA,AGI,WIS,INT,CHA : 12
HP/Mana/Endurance 157
All save: 10
Regen: 6
AC: 15

The charm changes its stats "at will" meaning it changes by itself, you have no control over it.

Found what I think are the max stats recently (after nerf) on a random check of the charm.
20ac, 16 all stats, 210hp/mana, 14 all resist, regen +8. I have a screenshot, will try to send it in.

The maximum stats I have seen are AC 15, STR, STA, CHA, WIS, INT, AGI all +12, Resists +15, HP, Mana, End +157 and lastly Regeneration +6.

ive gotten 2 of these in the past couple days, one from a corathus and one from a ragepaw
I posted below and some idiot said the charm may not have been nerfed... I was beacuse--if you actually read patch messages Sony said that it had be nerfed... However, now they've uped 1000 items in expansion--does anyone have any current charm info??

I got one of these Nov 4th from a bog snake.I'm lvl 70 necro max stats I have seen so far are listed below.
ac12 str+10 sta+10 cha+10 wis+10 int+10 agi+10 hp+105 mana+105 end+105 svf+8 svd+8 svc+8 svm+8
Regen+5.

Spent 12 hrs killing everything--no charm. Also just got nerfed as to max per Sony's patch message. This is typical of Sony: a neat little item that you have to spend 50hrs to get and when you do they nerf the crap out of it. You suck Sony!

did it get nerfed... or are you seeing ONE of the different sets of stats that it can usually do... it says in the item information... waxes and wanes in power at it's own whim.

The one shown on Kahntaur's link is actually mine, on my ranger Rummi. I got that screenshot at it's highest stats. The stats on it change roughly once every game hour. I have seen the stats go up to that maximum a few times, but even when it isnt maxxed stats, they are still decent stats.

425 hp / mana / end
regen 20
most the time for me its around 10 ac 8 stats 6 saves 85 hp / mana / end 3 or 4 regen
seems to hold up for 15 to 20 minute range, before it would change and redo the stats.

I had this drop for my group in Undershore at the castle near zone. Shmid is right with the high stats I've seen it with. Dropped off a trash mob. If you augment it (like I did with slipgear's gem) those will either add on or stand alone with the item's own stats, so if you have that maxed it becomes even greater. WEaring it on my 65 SK.
