Has anyone tried upgrading to the Class IV Collapsable Roboboar or is it just not cost effective?
I have one on my mage. its as fast as a chain horse, but bounces up and down a lot, by comparison.
The Serpent's Spine Vergalid raid drops "Essence of Speed" - the long awaited supercharger for the roboboar (actually it's a new V8 big block with integral supercharger and nitrous feed)
Behind the bank in Crescent Reach is a gnome and a robot gnome - they will install it for you and get rid of the gimpy little 4 cylinder engine.
End result - a Roboboar that will race you across Norrath almost like a bard! (Same speed as Seru and Emperor horses)

I suppose the J-boots are now nearly obsolete. The only place they would still be useful is in places too cramped for roboboar to fit or areas where having too many people on mounts really screws up visibility/targetting or induces lag. This certainly makes any horse or drog that is slower than it obsolete, as anyone needing a mount will spend the 19.99 for titanium rather than save up the plat needed to buy a low end mount. I suppose we will also see a lot fewer people running around begging for a sow, now, too.

If you got the newly released Titanium package then, yes, you need to claim them all on one toon with the command /claim 8. It will give you the satchel of abu-kar with all the other trinkets inside.

i got this today and was very excited. but when i put in ammo slot and clicked i got a red message reading "you must have horse models and your current luclin character models enables to summon a mount" plz sumone tell me what this means
It means you need to go into Options (before you log in to the game) and tick the boxes next to your race and gender along with the box at the bottom that says "Horses and Elementals".
For some reason you cannot summon mounts if you are using the old-school models in EQ. Go flame the devs so we can get a change on that hehe.

Have character with boar become completely encumbered in bazaar and then zone with the character, most of us wont be able to move. Click the Roboboar and viola!!! yer able to run speed three!!! woot!

Have heard rumors and guestimates...but nothing from anyone who has actually parsed one. Would love to hear the results if you have, before I decide which toon to give mine to.

it's definitely not as fast as my giant drog, but, it is a tad more responsive. speed feels--yes, feels no parsing so it's anecdotal on my part--like it moves maybe a bit slower than SoW but a tad quicker than JBoots.
all in all, going back to my drog w/its sluggish starts and long slow downs. putting roboboar in bank and keeping for novelty purposes.

I bought the box so I could get the mount. It moves at a good rate not sure of stats with it but far from sow speed. I just wish they could have chosen a beast worth sitting on. Geez I'm sitting on a piggy, why not a dragon or something a little more grand.

Has anyone determined how this mount compares to others? My room mate tells me nothing about the speed, but that it inhances attack and defense. Any confirmation, denial, or (gasp!) statistics would be most helpful in determining whether I buy DoD or a Drogmor.

The new Collapsable Roboboar is not bad... sort of neat in a way... the 'chug-chug' sounds it makes is interesting, and the smoke it emits fits so well. Even the tail twirls. *chuckles*
Though, it is sort of out of place anywhere but in Gnomesville, it is a nice addition to the mounts EQ has currently. Now, if Sony would get dragons, wolves, griffins, and other mounts, I would be truly happy. A class specific mount would be so awesome, like a bear for a Druid, or a cerberus type mount for a Necromancer. Now, *that* would be cool!.

You know not all necros are crazy hell loving demons. Some are just selfish bastards. :p I want that boar!...
