i have this shield now..and for the hit points and ac i like it...but when i need resists i trade it out for the sarnak shield
also this shield kinda looks cool....
the pointy blue shields with a emblem on them
if that makes any sense

It does seem a little low for the encounter and yet again it has a name that seems to ahve nothing to do with the item, maybe it has a cool wintery picture on it :)

Sounds like a good effect for this item would be a cold based damage sheild like the necro/sk damage sheild.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 09 2001 at 7:49 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) once again Verant had potential and blew it.. sorry i will still use my sarnak shield that is a uncommon from yard trsh in chardok and is still better than naggy shield lol !!! oh well.. someday they will learn

shure this shield looks nice , but for a lev66 mob its a little bit crappy .
If you compare it to the sarnak battle shield it has AC+3 HP+20 more
but you loose STR+5 fire cold magic+10 .
And its a heavy thing too :(

Velk is only 63-65, since he is always red to 60s and can be casted on.

Well, technically, a level 66 mob could still be casted on by level 60s. There is a 7 level max difference for spells to be casted (and not resisted).
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 14 2002 at 1:40 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) well technically you dont know what your talking about, however, thanks for your time.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 09 2001 at 9:39 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Seems like this needs an effect like freezing winds, duh. (maybe a 75point dd cold based spell?) that would make it a little more risk vs reward friendly.

I don't know how but when i wear this shield it adds 44 ac. even when the stats reads 28 ac 5sta hp 60. does that mean that if you add 5sta you get 16ac? I better take a closer look. BTW I like this shield better than the sarnak battle trash cause this is the one i have =) HP items helps if you are a cleric. Wish it had an effect like a righ clickable/stackable with anything +50CR that you can cast on others. It would not be good for a melee though against the Sarnak Battle Shield because of the STR loss. I double checked and it does give me 44 ac.

Your defense skill adds a % to the ac of armor. That's why 18 ac on a piece of armor is better than 18 ac on a spell. I think the formula is defense skill divided by 4 or 5 and added in % but I'm not sure.
