Although this item is indeed crafted, it requires a no-drop component that only comes from raids. This should be marked as a raid-only item.

I had the pleasure of seeing the Berserker aug and the disc (+165 hp) aug in a BP.....540 hp BP with 144 AC.....I don't understand why people can complain about any of this, you got it you got it and if you don't life sucks.
I was linked one of these today on a Master's Duskwoven Armband INGAME on Luclin Server. Along with GM aug and 50hp DON aug. I don't care who you are and what you are wearing ...it is a nice aug. It surely beats the heck out of BS LDON AUG.
The augments that drop are no trade in their own right before even being used in a combine. These augments are entirely worthless for tradeskillers. No money can be made from this and in order to even get one of these you have to belong to a raid guild. So they aren't beneficial to the non-raider characters. Junk, Junk and more Junk
Your first sentence seems to be correct from what was seen during the DoDh beta and from the progress being made by tradeskillers so far. However, the negativity of the rest of your post is misplaced.
The final step is a no fail combine that uses the no trade dropped component to produce a no trade final product. However, the container used for that combine is made by a large number of tradeskill steps requiring high levels of skill in tinkering, smithing and other skills. The parchment and ink used up in the process of making each augment are also tradeskilled using tailoring, baking and brewing.
In addition, the links found for these augs so far show them to only fit in Type 12 augment slots. These augments slots are ONLY found on DoN cultural armor, so as the high end raiders make these augments, they will need to buy the tradeskilled armor and symbols to go with the new augments. The augments + grandmaster DoN armor will have similar stats and effects as found on dropped armor from raid encounters of the same difficulty as the events where the augments dropped.
Finally, the Last Blood augments like the one shown above are expected to drop from raid instances off Dreadspire that will be Anguish+ in difficulty, but the lesser augments have been seen off easier events. The Bazu Stone for the 2nd best version of these augments has dropped in a couple different raids that are described as comparable to Tacvi or MPG raids in difficulty. The Discordant Stone for the 3rd best augments has been found off a raid mission that allows up to 54 people but has been defeated by a single group of Anguish geared toons and could be done at a much lower level with more people. The Chronal Stone has not been found yet, but would presumably come from even easier events.

Well . . let's look at that a little.
Anguish war bp: 360 hps. Typical anguish aug: 90 hps. Total: 450hps. And could be a lot more with a tacvi hp aug or the 150 hp anguish aug.
GM Plate bp: 40 hp, 55 hp DoN vendor aug (I think that's type 7, can't remember atm), GM chest aug: 105 hps, this aug 210 hps. Total: 410 hps.
Let me think . . no. This aug might look like a good idea on the surface, but if this actually requires anguish+ raiding to obtain, then we better find a new source of type 12 augment slots, because it's pretty worthless right now. Well . . actually . . if it's not in a locking instance (I hate those, btw) then it might be good alt gear. ;)
edit: the effects actually make it roughly comparable to other anguish quality gear, but it's still a LOT of money/work to build something that's at best a tradeoff.
As a caster I care about all stats of course. However, I care a TON about effects. Unfortunately, many of the effects I want conflict with each other's slots:(
Anyway, I'm highly considering this aug for my wrist slot. At this point in the game I can spare a small hp/mana hit if needed. If a future expansion comes out with an effect I want that is wrist only... well, I have another wrist slot... hehe.
When I posted, I hadn't seen any 7/8 augs of that quality. That changes everything. It is a LOT of work to get one of these suckers fully aug'd up and running, but you do, it is possible to surpass anguish loot.
I would normally not post on a bashin type post but.
Yes your math is correct for the BP itself Jackdbur. But it stops being correct after that.
If you had read farther instead of jumping you would have seen the other Augs listed after the BP. And you add just the lil aug to that BP for a total of 450 which is greater than the 410 you see on the Cult armor.
Now with that being said. You would need a really awesome guild or raid team to even get to either of these fine BPs and after you got EITHER you would be one very happy camper.
maybe the new 2.0 epic augment slot quest will add a type 12 instead of the type 30 or whatever was listed on the quest on this because i have seen about 10 different ones like this.....it would make for a very nice piece of equipment, making the 2.0 truly epic :) instead of on par with some of the high end drops out there aside from the dedicated focus effects and clickies.....that's just my 2cp
Looking through the various versions of this that can be created, it definitely has possibilities. I'm not saying that I'd want a full suit of this stuff, but if you consider that you can make a DoN cultural piece, add the cultural aug (type 11), this augment for the type 12 slot, and drop your finished BiC augment into the type 7 slot (all slot types), it definitely has the capacity to be something useful.
My thinking here has a lot to do with certain spell focii that are nearly impossible to acquire for some classes. Looking through the various possibilities on this where focii are concerned, if a person could have a 500ish hp armor piece with an important missing focus on it, it definitely would be a worthwhile possibility to consider.
Anyhow, definitely something to ponder, only time will tell what the true 'value' of something like this is but definitely not going to write it off as a possibility, anguish gear or not.
Come on already! Just tell us how to make it, and it's variants. I could care less on the debate of it's merits. Obviously the relative worth will vary according to the needs of each individual player.
Bastellous is talking out of his ***** This aug is valuable to anyone. Even if the only armor you can use it with as we KNOW NOW, is DON armor, I am sure there is some DODH armor with type 12 soon. Even if they do not DON armor = 90AC or so on the BP and starts out with 125hps and 2 aug slots, one type 7 and one type 12. Meaning you can aug it with 2 augs. One for 40hps making it 90ac 165 hp + that aug =135 AC 375hp mana and so on...+ all those mods. Nothing has that many stats except the assistant researchers symbol which I sport. Yes my guild is COA geared. Yes I would use this on one of my toons in the future I am sure. Yes some anguish gear ranges from 280hps-315 starting but has 1 aug slot and it is type 8. Which most of us affix 90hp/mana/endur with some mod on it augs. Making it sometimes 400 + yes there are also 150 hp and 125 hp augs. Still this would be an excellent upgrade to anyone. the New Cultural armors can be made up nicely with high enough skill as well. Oh and lol, if a guild isnt Qvic+ geared they are not going to take out the mobs that bare this aug in the first place. So obviously there is some plan to incorporate better armor to aug it onto.
I have seen the link on Antonius Bayle. Do not know if you can send links form test... This aug says it is 'NO TRADE' and player crafted. If so then only the people able to make them will benefit! Grats to all you hard working tradeskillers! :D
The final combine (per beta) was not done against a tradekskill "skill" check, but it was a no fail combine in a container (made through tinkering). The container, along with several ingredients in the aug combine had many subcombines with various different tradeskills.
So, everyone could potentially benefit, not just tradeskillers.
There are also 4 different tiers of these augs. "Last Blood of the XXX" is the final tier. There are lesser versions of this aug. Each tier has about 25 or so different variations to the aug, including different focus and worn effects.
this is worthless since it only goes into type 12 gear the only things that it might fit into are player crafter armor or DoN bought armor so you will only be getting like 300 HP gear which will be on par with anguish type armor, I say worthless cause I already have anguish type gear but for non anguish guilds it will be a gold mine.
I also read the same thing Scotty posted below, that these are not live. However, if they were, this would hardly be worthless to someone in Anguish gear, unless your whole guild has already gotten their breastplates. To start with, the Grandmaster Breastplate, plus Grandmaster augment, give a total of 99ac, 145 hp/mana/end. Toss this uagment on it, and you are up to 144ac, and 355 hp/mana/end (and still have an open slot for an Anguish aug). That means you actually end up with HIGHER ac than Anguish BP, and for clerics also more hp same mana, for knights more mana same hp. Effects are better on Anguish BP, but for the lower DKP members of most Anguish guilds, this would be a nice upgrade from GoD breastplates.
This was on test, and to my knowledge Absor said this line of augs would NOT go live. Even if they did, these would be dropping from top-end, nearly anguish level raids I would imagine, where you basically have to have a 500hp bp to begin with.
