reflecting on this persons comment, this is somewhat untrue.
this is one of the "easier" weapons to obtain for a level 1 proccing weapon, which is awesome.

I got one last night in Velk's and so far I like it. I use it as my primary and a Lam as my secondary. I have noticed no significant change in my stamina dropping and the thing is fast as hell. The only problem is a warriors pierce skill caps lower than his 1hs skill, but not by a huge amount. Its a worthwhile weapon until I cane get into Sleepers Tomb or VP and get some truely uber weapons.
Callabran Steelshark 56 Warrior Seventh Ward Drinal Server
P.S. The thing procs about 4 to 6 times a fight with a dex of 122. No big help but sure does not hurt.

5 weight? Holy wah thats crazy! I have 2 lammies and they hardly weigh anything and my stam still drops pretty quickly! 5 weight and 18 delay equals not cool
Lifespike is the level 4 necromancer lifetap. Shadow Knights also get this lifetap spell at level 15, although it has an increased mana cost due to the hybrid casting penalty. At maximum efficiency, it costs 18 mana and yields 11 point lifetap. Even though this lifetap is very small, in the hands of a Shadow Knight using Vampiric Embrace it would largely increase the amount of health stolen. In the hands of any other melee character, a lifetap proc is still a pretty good thing: lower target's health, increase your own health.
As an added bonus, this weapon has a pretty low delay, so you can swing it faster in a given timeframe, which increases the opportunities for the weapon to proc. Also, this proc is a lifetap, and the lifetap line of spells work on a very different resistance table, so this proc will seldom be resisted.
I'm sorry but an 11 dmg lifetap on something that weighs 5 kinda and swings every 18 isnt that great.
I have an iksar monk using a trance stick (iksars have very high dex) and he maybe procs 2-4 times on a blue mob in a fight. This means a warrior would get back like 80hps in a fight if he had high dexterity. In my opinion it's not worth having such a heavy weapon with such a low delay that would cause your stamina to drop this much. If I were a melee class I would stick to lighter weapons if you are going to use some that are very fast. Still it's not too bad, just not great. I would use this if you cannot get an appropriate weapon and this thing drops when you raid to velk.
5.0 isn't so bad, when I used an Iksar Beserker Club in my offhand the sta didn't drop so bad and it was 8.1...and that guy who said his sta dropped pretty quick with lammys musta had pretty low sta cuz mine doesn't more than a yellow bub even after those long multiple mob battles with da lammy and a sword with a 2.1 weight on it, it's not a weapon that I'd actively seek out only to get it but if I got it I probably wouldn't try to hard to upgrade it...any extra hps coming in are good hps, who knows might even look bad ****
My warrior has 88 dex, and I still get 2-6 procs in EVERY fight with a blue or higher. The longer the fight the more procs, just dropped Tse in the frozen tower, she resisted 7 procs. To a warrior with 140+ str(which most of us do)that 5 weight is nothing, so what if our sta drops like a rock, so we slow down...oh wait, look at the speed delay...well gosh it evens out, wow! There are far better weapons, if you don't want it don't get it. If you do have it, sell it to a newbie or a ebay'er for 12k. I'm done with my rant, sorry for stepping on anyone's toes.
It's no drop guy, you can't sell it. Although why would you want to? I can get a good 8 - 12 proc's with 140dex. get me a lute of the howler, or have an enchanter cast illusion werewolf on me, and i'll have life tap along with lifespike going on. also with 200dex, i'll be procin like mad.
Well if you had an enchanter in your group with Augmentation available your stamina would never drop making this weapon better than a Lammy in those circumstances.
Naw I'll take the miniscule extra damage from the + STR over the miniscule healing this is gonna do. And for the guy above who asked about price, it's no-drop.
We just did it tonight, 10 people levels 48-55, pretty kick-tail place to hunt IMO.
