Ragebringer  

 

So everyone says that the best weapon for a rogue is a Primal velium spear right?

Well, yes since if you have the Ragebringer in the offhand, it provides the 40% haste, thus making the Primal a 13/14 weapon, without spell haste...very deadly.

However, what if you had a primal velium spear without the ragebringer? What would it be now? A 13/20 weapon - granted that you had no other haste items, of course. Ragebringer ALONE, requiring no other items to supplement it, is a 15/18..

So, technically, Ragebringer still IS the best rogue weapon in the game. Primal is better with a Ragebringer, but it pales in comparison to it alone. Thus, you could say that Primal becomes better BECAUSE of the Ragebringer.

But it is NOT the best rogue weapon in the game.

The NPC's that you turn the items in for the Ragebringer quest will not respond to you if you are below 50..if you turn your items pre-50 you'll be in for a nasty surprise.

notice how its 15/22 which means its same backstab, faster delay. and seeing as how stats dont do much, its almost as good as ragebringer itself if ragerbringer didnt give resists. so ill post this so you all can critisize it. btw, im not a rogue, so i dont care =P was just here looking for a picture of ragebringer hehe

Haste % doesn't decrease your delay on the weapon. At least not the way most people calculate it. Haste increases how many more chances to attack. So with the RB, 40% more chances to hit the enemy, not 40% less delay on the weapon.

Playing with some numbers:

25delay = 2.5 seconds
Not counting double attack, 25delay means:
60 / 2.5 = 24 chances to hit the enemy in 1 minute. Throw in RB 40% haste we get:
24 * 140% = 33.6 chances to hit the enemy in a minute not counting double attack. So in 1 minute, the delay on the Ragebringer would be:
60 / 33.6 = 1.785 or 17.9 delay

In those long 5 minute fights. 60 * 5 = 300 seconds.
300 / 2.5 = 120 chances to hit.
120 * 140% = 168 chances to hit not counting double attack.
300 / 168 = 1.785 or 17.9 delay

I'm sure VI is rounding up these numbers so Ragebringer will always have a delay of 18. If my math is wrong, fix it for me and give the correct numbers. I would like to believe the RB is as fast as 15 delay but it's not. Flame or praise me, I need sleep. /bye

P.S. If the effect is perm. haste, it will only stack with 1 haste related spell (Shissar, WR, AQ, etc.) and 1 haste related bard song. So no CoF, FBSS, or any other perm. haste item. It will stack with Eyepatch of Plunder though, thats a right-clickable spell.

i really dont understand what everyone is talking about there are better weapons, yea there are but how likely is it that any number of people are gunna end up with a will sapper? slim and none. Id kill people for this weapons, so all u ungreatfull rogues be happy with it and stop *******

First talk to Malka Rale who can be located in the Qeynos Aqueducts. She will hand you a pouch which you need to give to Anson McBale who can be found in the Smuggler's Camp in Highpass Hold. This should make Stanos spawn, if not you may also have to talk to Lendel Deeppockets in Rivervale. Talk to Stanos, he will ask you to give him two pieces of parchment, both of which must be pickpocket'd off NPC's. The first is Founy, the dwarf rogue guildmaster who is near the bank in Kaladim, and the other is Tani N'Mak, the dark elf rogue guildmaster who can be found in Neriak's 3rd Gate. Once you have both pieces, hand them both to Stanos. He will in turn hand you back a Combined Note and will tell you to give this to Eldreth, in Lake RatheTear.

Head off to Lake RatheTear and locate Eldrath. Hand him the combined note and and he will ask you for some milk and 100 pp. Now hand him two bottles of milk and 100 pp and he will reward you with yet a Scribled Note which he asks you to take to Yendar Starpyre in Steamfont.

Once in Steamfont, you will need to locate Yendar Starpyre as he wanders around the zone. Hand him the combined note and he will in turn give you back the Completed Note and will ask you to return to him the Book of Souls. The book is spawns in the Maestro of Rancor's room in the Plane of Hate. Once you have obtained this item, hand both the book and the completed note back to Yendar. This will cause Renux to spawn, she is very powerful and you will need many friends to bring her down. Kill Renux so you can loot the Translated Note and some bonus items including new pieces of ravenscale armor, and sometimes the Jagged Diamond Dagger. Now head off to Highpass again and hand the Translated Note to Stanos and he in turn will reward you with the Box.

Next you head off to Kithikor Forest and hand the Dark Elf Advisor the Box you received from Yendar. Once you hand in the box The General will spawn and will take many high level groups to kill him. Once he's dead, loot his corpse to receive the General's Pouch and sometimes the Cazic Quill.

Hand all three items back to Stanos and he will reward you with the Ragebringer.

This next part is only needed if you didn't receive all the quest items above, or are encountering difficulties.

Talk to Vilnius the Small who can be found in West Karanas. Getting him to spawn is tricky, first you must make sure that all bandits are in the bandit camp. From there keep killing the bandit that runs from the camp to the road, until a Brigand spawns. Then leave him alone until 11pm game time. Vilnius the Small will spawn in his place. Talking to him will reveal that he has three quests for you to complete.

First he asks you to return to him with the following four weapons, the Painbringer, Fleshripper, Mithral Two-Handed Sword, and the Giant Zwiehander. Hand him all four weapons and you will be rewarded with the Jagged Diamond Dagger.

He will then ask you to fetch him four robes, which are the Robe of the Kedge, Robe of the Ishva, Shiny Metalic Robe, and Robe of the Oracle. Handing him all four robes will result in receiving the Cazic Quill.

For the last quest, he asks you to hand him the following items, the Burning Rapier, Eyerazia, Martune Rapier, and a Well Balanced Rapier. He will tell you information on how to meet Stanos and will hand you the General's Pouch.

Note: This weapon can fit in either the primary or second hand. It no longer can be equipped in the Range Slot. The effect of Seething Fury adds 40% Haste, +40 Attack and +9 Armor Class.

This is not the best weapon, or even best rogue weapon now, at least not in terms of dam/dly only. It is beaten by the willsapper, and probably one or two other.

The effect is permanent, and is is 40% haste.

It IS a nice weapon, and the haste is the best item haste there is (at least as far as I know).

The rogue particle weapon quest is probably the easiest of them all, so it is possible to obtain this at level 50 with the right connections.
