Mac server the code was froze circa May 2003 so lvl 65 is lvl cap. I did the PoH naked and solo cept for a thurg port pot. Picks involved about 6 deaths but wasn't max PP skill yet. Renux was duoed by 50 rog and 65 BL. Brought a group of lvl 65s for General who didn't drop quill nor did the kedge robe drop. Using a 65 wiz and mag to kill Phinegal and CoH me in to loot Kedge robe worked. Camped Magus on and off for a month but after ~25 kills of him we tried the shortcut by killing Yendar. We killed Yendar with a 65 sham, cler, bl and 57 monk, he always drops SMR.
Have epic on monk and rog prolly the two easiest epics to get even on a very low pop server. Agree monk epic is better overall but choice of weapons for rog is limited which makes it better for the class itself.

Parchments were easily obtainable with a 160+ Pickpocket skill.

Book of souls can be tricky. Sometimes a few entrance mobs of PoH will see through your sneak and finding your way to the actual book itself can be confusing if you don't know where to go. From the Maestro's chapel/building, go straight down the stairs into the next building which should have an arch infront of it. Once you're in the doors, go up the right staircase and it's on the cabinet of some sorts.

Renux was a piece of cake. Took a Necro, a Beastlord, Pally, and a Ranger all just under level 70: overkill...

General V'ghera wasn't too hard himself, but there were a few lowbie adds that were annoying. All you need is a good puller and probably a 70+ SK with at least 200 AA's (SK could be puller as well), split and kill the mobs until you just have the Coercer left, hand in the pouch, kill General, viola. You can also kill the Coercer later, but she didn't aggro us when the general was pulled. /shrug

Soloed Yendar for the Shining Metallic Robes with a 75SK (430ish AA's, anguish geared, 17k HP buffed). Never dropped below 96% HP. Could easily do it with another SK with less AA's/levels/HP/etc

Kedge Robe -- Kill Phinny, hope it drops from the DE's in Kithicor or get a MQ. Not hard.

Other robes are easily obtainable in bazaar if you didnt get the Cazic Quil from V'Ghera. Hope I didn't miss anything and hope this helps a little.

got both the partments last night lvl 43 rogue 113 pp skill just a few runs to zone but :)

I got the parchments finally the other day. Got both within about 12 hours of each other (Tani took 5 spawns to have it, Founy took 3 spawns). Also had the Book of Souls already thanks to a recent PoHate raid. After getting dubious faction with Anson McBale (see the Rogue Errands quest if you need to fix faction! It's so easy!), I used the sneak-for-indifference trick and was able to spawn Stanos ("I need to see Stanos")

From here, everything went smoothly. Ran around a lot getting the damnable note translated: both Yendar and Eldreth were up and Renux went down easy. Dead Man Floating will help you resist that nasty proc of hers, btw. Got my JDD and parchment, as well as a Ravenscale Mask (woot see invis!)

Did a quick bit of research on General V`Ghera and raided him promptly. I have posted about our strategy on the General V`Ghera bestiary page. Also got a Robe of the Kedge from the raid, meaning that all I have left to get is the Shining Metallic Robes.

Good luck. If you have your robes already (the three droppable ones can be bought for about 7k total on Bristlebane), the entire epic can be finished - from the first pickpocket to holding Ragebringer - in a day. (even for those of us without 1000 level 70 friends or uber gear! Yay)

P.s. Don't count on V`Ghera dropping the Cazic Quill. Count on him NOT dropping it. Then if he does, you can finish up epic really quick and sell the robe MQ.

I really wish that this was range capable so i could use other weapons in my secondary slot while still taking advantage of the haste and stats on this item

Just finished my epic last night on Brell Serilis at level 50. Some notes for those who haven't done it yet:

1. Malka Rayle can be skipped, but I wouldn't recommend it as the faction on Stanos' Pouch turn in is BIG.

2. Renux can be soloed (duh) by a 70 Druid with 500 AA's tanking her. Proc went off almost every hit but never landed.

3. General V'Ghera (and ALL his DE pals)were killed using two 70 Druids and a 69 Ranger as the tank. As a favor to a friend, I stayed out of the fight. (he wanted to attempt a solo, but after cleaning up the DE extras beforehand decided to get some backup) LESS than one groupable at this point.

4. The entire Epic can be done in one day, start to finish. From the initial note turn in to Stanos, to recieving the Ragebringer took about 4 hours.

5. I don't know what SoE changed in the Mid-December patch, but the Rogue Epic is still as gimpy as ever. Didn't have any suprises along the way.

Regarding Faction: You might also want to try turning in Orc Scalps for faction. Seems to go a bit faster than the Cards. FYI, the scalps off of Crushbone orcs can be turned in as well, and drop a lot more frequently. Hunt Gfay NOT CB if you're doing scalps. Manage about 6 stacks an hour and every two stacks jumps another "level" up in faction (it seems to cap at amiable though, as I turned in 16 stacks at amiable and it never changed. The Epic turnin's will get you to Ally from this point)

i finally finished my ragebringer about 3 days ago after starting at level 40 and ending at 50 (i could have ended at about 45 if they would do turnins)... had to barrow 7.5k off friend to buy a SMR...robe of kedge/isvah dropped on general raid... i now love my new ragebringer and use it all the time.


now i just need to get my High elf mask (pain in the arse to get all that stuff again...have had head in bank since level 15)

I may be just getting worried here since I don't have my epic yet, but after reading the spell information on Seething Fury, it says now that it has the 9ac effect...but nothing more. Can anyone with the epic say for sure if the haste is still on this item?

Ok all my friends tell me that i can do my epic at 46 and i can do all of the handing in and spawning but i just want to know for sure if i can plz tell me

can soemone please tell me how many ppl of what lvl i need to bring to effectivly pull and defeat the general? it would be really helpful. :)

does the haste effect stack with item haste? just curious, i am not a rogue and i have no clue :D

I've done this naked Plane of Hate run for the Book of Souls 4 times now. The first time for myself, and the other three for others showing them how to do it. This is the best way to get the Book of Souls.

Put all your gear in the bank except a sow potion and the portal stone. Find/ask/pay a 65 wizard who's LFG (or a guildie) to port you there. Before you port there, sow yourself. Give the wizzy the stone and let him or her port you to POH. When you zone in, immediatly sneak/hide and DO NOT SIT DOWN (sitting is dangerous in POH entry). The Wizzy immediatly casts a Nexus Translocate on you. The wizzy then ports out leaving you to go get the book. Put the Nexus TL acceptance window off to the top of your screen. Start heading for the book. Because the Nexus TL is instant, there is never any reason to die getting the Book of Souls. If you get agro, simply accept the TL to nexus, heal up and try again. It's really not hard at all. I've only died once using this method, but it was my own error and not the method's error that caused that.
Also, if you are not in a guild with a 60-65 Wizzy that is not scared of POH, then you will have some convincing to do. I've found it easiest to simply explain in detail what I need THEM to do. If you send a tell to a 65 Wizzy LFG and simply ask "Can you port me to POH" they will assume you are doing a raid and may not want to raid at that moment. So it's best to say "Can you port me to POH, TL me to Nexus and then you can port out and go about your merry way". Then most just are curious but agree. But it's always easier if you know a high level wizzy or are guilded.
This method is better than the raid method for two reasons that I can see. First, most raids on Hate will have several Rogues all wanting that book. So if your raid succeeds, and you do get the book, you still have to roll on it or whatever to get it. So the success rate is based a bit on luck when trying to raid for the book.
Secondly, if someone has recently gotten the book then you spend a lot of time raiding just for nothing.
The wizzy port/TL to nexus method is 100% safe from dying, and the only disadvantage is that it costs a bit for the hate stones. But really, it's well worth it.
There may be better methods that I'm not aware of, but this is a 100% safe method. I hope it helps someone.

I have 2 questions i have a rog friend that has started poisin makeing

1) Can u apply poisins to a weapon with a effect?

2) When u apply a poisin is it a one time thing or does it last till u zone?

Getting your Ragebringer is fairly easy, guilded or unguilded, i got mine as soon as i hit 50, i had pickpocketed the guildmasters by age 35, at 46 and 1 yellow i did a solo run into hate, drop all your stuff off in the bank, go up naked apart from an Insta port potion/item, i used the halfling Leatherfoot raiders quest cap with 1 charge of Ring of Commons on it, soon as you come out of the port in building go right (a kind wizzy freind ported me up then gated out) go slightly up the wall but not much, as you will agro stuff from upstairs. turn left along the wall for about 3 buildings then turn left and head straight into the middle of the zone to the fountain, into the meastros building up the stairs, far left corner from the top of the stairs is the bedroom with you hope your book on the bedstand, there are only a few mobs who can see thro your Stealth mode, one being the meastro, full details and a map can be found on the Safehouse Rogue epic forum, when i got back from getting my book i had to log for half an hour to calm my nerves, it was a hell of a adrenalin rush hehe, much more fun than going up with a raid, and waiting for them to clear that far.

I was also lucky with the General and with Renux, Renux took a group and a half of friends to take down, could have done with one group probably or less, depending on your friends hehe, the General I just kept popping into Kith and seeing if a raid was going on and asking if i could join in, we killed the General 4 times in one game night for my hand in but no Quill, Phinny was a bit of a pain, but people are always doing him for the Wiz and Mage staffs so, you can sit in on his raids easily enough, the rest is just running around doing hand ins, killing a lot of greenie bandits to get villneous to spawn, be carefull you dont get too close to his PH or you will have to run to the zone to clear the aggro list, or face killing him and starting the cycle again.

I went half way through 50 with the xp from hand ins and killing Renux and the General.
