Killed at the little fort in Great Divide. had 6 toes and 8 heads when I decided to go get the first shawl done. Faction had moved from apprensively to amiable.
Loremaster Borannin would not respond to "I seek to perform duties for the crown" as mentioned in the walkthrough so I just gave him the 4 giant toes. Got the shawl.

I thought I would put an update to this Quest. It still works...20-30 Frostgiants down and I had four sets of Toes and Five heads towards the next shawl. Turn in worked and I had an indifferent faction. Now for those other heads, LOL.
Over the last 15 months, we've traveled to every corner of the United States. I've now been in 57 states? I think one left to go.

Actually I just completed this quest with apprehensive faction (I was an Iksar).
I also completed this quest today with apprehensive faction and a charisma of 115.
This is only the beginning of a very long and involved quest. The quest involves almost all of the tradeskills, and you need to be a master in each one. This is the kind of quest you don't take on lightly, and you can't get it done in a weekend. The reward is great though, if you have the patience and perserverence. As it is now, when you recieve the 7th shawl, it has AC 7, Sta 7, Wis 7, Int 7, Cha 7, SvF 7, SvC 7, SvP 7, Effect: Flowing Thought

three more will be added... eventually, there will be 10 shawls, and the stats on the 10th shawl will be 10ac, 10wis, 10int, and 10 sv cold.

This item wasn't meant for you then :) The end result is what you are after...the 7th one is a wonderful caster item. I am actually about to start this quest myself, and I am thrilled my pottery and baking will be put to some good use. Well, off I go to start it :). The longest journey begins with a single step!

The first one sucks, but after you do the 7th step of this quest...It doesn't suck anymore... 7ac 7wis 7int 7sv cold, yeah, that is not bad.

This quest continues... Not sure how, but a friend did the quest, and turned in 10 giant heads along with this Shawl. Got back a new Shawl that was +2 instead of +1. NPC told em to come back later for an additional quest. He tried, but had not waited enough time. (not sure if 1 EQ day, or real day, or what.)
Anyways, we think the next quest may give a +3 item. (shrugs) Just a guess. We'll know more tonight.

Usually "Come back later" from an NPC means one of two things...
1.) "Get a higher level you n00b"

2.) "You haven't kissed our butts enough, go forth and gain more of our faction"
