spawn + kill
# Jan 30 2007 at 5:07 AM Rating: Decent
This guy spawns in the ocean next to the Gnoll camps by ToFS.
His rare drop is the + 2 regen no lvl recomm or req. belt.
He is about lvl 58-60.
He summons not very often like once every 30 seconds he summons.. but he does it twice in a few seconds then waits again enough time to get back.. heal and dot.
Im a lvl 70 druid Vt/potime geared because I just got back after a long break.
He was cake.. and i finished him with 100% health and 60% mana after redotting twice 5 nukes and a few heals.
Dropped the belt (YAY) both map parts.. sections of shield.. earring no boots.
All i wanted whats section and belt so im happy.
I have no idea how often he spawns but i usually go check every 3 days or so and hes up.

Someone had told me that this belt has not dropped for like a year now. I'm on the Inny server and I haven't personally killed Lodi, but I value what he say's since he's played for so long. Can anyone confirm/deny this? It would be a shame if it doesn't drop anymore for sure :(

Confirmed that it still drops. Belt dropped 11/23/04 on Morell Thule. Shaman has been soloing him since 63, seven for seven against him. Finally dropped the belt for my rogue.

Another comfirmation: Dropped about 30 minutes ago for a group up us doing a corpse run for a guildie. Turtle got in the way of a group of level 62+. It was fun getting summoned and watching him try to pound through my Arcane Rune. No one else wanted it, so it's going to my 54 war. Very nice upgrade indeed!
Why is the level to attain different from level of mob???
# Jan 10 2004 at 1:37 AM Rating: Default
Why in the world does this say lvl to attain 58 when mob is lvl 60 doesnt make sence to me???
RE: Why is the level to attain different from level of mob??
# Mar 09 2004 at 1:59 PM Rating: Decent
You've never killed a yellow or red con mob before?

It's not necessary to match the level of a mob in order to kill it. If a group of 58's can take Lodizal down then the level to attain is, justifiably, 58.
BST Usable...
# Dec 15 2003 at 7:23 PM Rating: Default
This belt is BST usable, although I could have sworn it wasn't during the summer. I remember duo'ing Lodi with a chanter, and the belt dropped, finally, and the chanter had a WAR toon and I a BST toon. Well I could have sworn it wasn't BST usable then, so I passed on it (this was like July or August maybe?). Well I just solo'd that big turtle today and the belt dropped again and it is now BST usable, so I'm confused. Oh well, better late than never.

Oh these are going for about 4-5k max on Test. Maybe that's why it wasn't marked BST usable then, something goofy with Test Server /shrug

My Belt

Got my belt on 11/13/03!
Really happy Sk. What happened was I woke up in the morning, friend was camping Lodi, then he spawned! Got a Shammy Bst, whipped him up in under a minute between the 3 of us.

Then, he spawned later, about 10 hours I would say, so we thjis got 5 people, I ended up dieing to save the group, which didn't matter cause I got my belt. =D
Well, just telling what happened to me.

6AC, ok that works. 10 STR, oh yeah my swift blade of Zek like. 10 DEX, Oh my Light Velium bow relly like! 30HP my sore body can use! Aura of Battle, make those health breaks shorter! And 10 ATK hum...... whats that! :) I think this is the only item I have with added ATK so this is not something I ever looked at. But hey extra anything, ok give it to me!!! Being that I only solo for now this is great all around for my little 32 Ranger! I wouldn't complain about added stats, unless they don't proc until 49 or something. Man I hate that!

14 attack for 61 Pal
# Mar 03 2003 at 11:46 AM Rating: Default
Just a confirmation that this item yielded 14 attack to a level 61 Paladin. As far as stacking goes, it of course stacks with our yaulp, while the "grim aura" effect of the goblin skull earring is overwritten by yaulp.

I advise this increased attack for us do-gooders because a little bit of attack when magnified by slay undead 3 means a greatly increased damage output against those of undead origin.
RE: 14 attack for 61 Pal
# Nov 06 2003 at 3:24 AM Rating: Default
You're all wrong. It adds 10 raw attk, but the number you see is your modified attk, based on class, str, etc.
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 03 2003 at 7:06 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) check it out, 10str. thats probably where your extra atk came from.
#REDACTED, Posted: May 01 2003 at 2:28 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ATK comes from Dex 8) probably from the +10 dex

this 10 atk is overrated
# Feb 10 2003 at 6:32 PM Rating: Default
imo (and i really mean imo) 10 atk is absolutly overrated. players are a bit crazy when it comes to ac, atk or haste. i mean if you have 1000 atk... do you really think 10 points will change much? i dont. a 39 shadowknight can buff his atk by at least 30 points with his own spells - if 10 atk really mean this much that would make him kind of uber. so i think 10 atk is overrated. i have to admit that this belt is not bad at all though - nice stats, 2 hp regen and 10 atk are nice but dont think just the 10 atk will win a fight for you.

RE: this 10 atk is overrated
# Mar 04 2004 at 3:35 PM Rating: Decent
ok mr Thornkiss you are a bit silly imo, sure 10atk is not great, but worn atk stacks up to 250 as has been mentioned in this post and worn atk stacks with your self buffed atk as well so you get 15 items that all added 10 atk and your getting 150 worn attack and that is base so you won't see 150 atk, you'll see closer to 200 off that. and no this belt is not uber but when you start stacking effects like this then eventually you are going to see nice bonuses to your melee ability. by your logic why bother lvling to lvl 2 cuz it's not all that much better then lvl 1. and y would anyone waste their time leveling to 3 that isn't much better then 2... see where this is going?
RE: this 10 atk is overrated
# Nov 21 2003 at 3:08 AM Rating: Decent
uh yeah execpt for any +atk items are ubah once in the high end game when you already have maxxed stats so the STR on anything does nothing +10 atk is ubah
RE: this 10 atk is overrated
# Mar 15 2003 at 7:05 AM Rating: Decent
It depends what class you are. Rogues for example collect ATK increases the way casters collect mana items. A plus mana item typically only gives a small amount extra but if you try to have as many slots have plus mana items as possible then it adds up. Similarly with attack bonuses like this one. For a warrior it might not be much, but for a rogue they will try to have as many ATK bonuses as they can on as many pieces as possible and it adds up.
RE: this 10 atk is overrated
# Feb 18 2003 at 6:51 PM Rating: Default
Well, 10 atk is a very nice thing to have, but yea youre right - its not ALOT. Yes, your attack can be buffed up through str buffs and some self-cast spells if you can (im not sure if there are any atk spells that like a rogue could get), but the numbers can be a big difference in the "end game". The 10 atk difference between 1490 and 1500 atk is very big apparentely and numbers around there, i dont have that much yet so i dont know exactly. I love this belt, the stats, and the effect - and seeing the 10 more atk is nice to look at :) Im a rogue so the more atk i can get the better! Well, the belt is nice - no more should be said about the quality.
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 10 2003 at 6:40 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Dumbass. Would you have prefered ZERO bonus then? People aren't using this belt for the Atk increase (you got that wrong as well). They use it for the AoB effect which adds both atk and gives you 2 hp regen.

nope my friend you are the dumbass (brain overload?)cause you obviously stopped reading my post after the first sentence. what you wrote is more or less what i said. thanks for summarizing my post again Mr. Dearborn though i think it really wasnt nessecary - most people using these boards have a brain (most - not all as we can see from your post) and do not need a double explanation.

question
# Jan 12 2003 at 11:06 PM Rating: Default
Is 10 attack really that much? Obv better than none, but what sort of boost would a person get from this? I dont find the 2 regen to be a big deal at all, but am curious about the ATK.
RE: question

The effect of ATK is relatively small compared to the noisiness of the random number generator, which means that there isn't any conclusive parse data (at least, not that I've been able to find) that establishes the value of ATK and the general shape of the curve (for example, does 10 marginal points of ATK have a bigger impact at ATK 1000 or ATK 1400?). The best read I've found on the topic is http://forums.interealms.com/ranger/showthread.php?threadid=9616

With all those caveats aside... the most common rule of thumb is that 10ATK = 1% damage increase. And while there is a point of diminishing returns on ATK that is dependent on the mob, any mob where your ATK is "soft-capped" is a mob that you wouldn't be wasting your time killing in the first place. And this is why ATK rules: as you get to be around level 60, it is relatively easy to hit the (soft) AC and (hard) stat caps - but more ATK keeps letting you do more damage.
AoB as permanent effect stacking.

If Aura of Battle is a permanent effect, it stacks with everything. I mean EVERYTHING.

There's only one exception alleged that I am aware of: some say there is a hard cap on how much regen and atk you can get from items. Something along the lines of +300 atk, +30 regen. Most players will never get near it.
RE: AoB as permanent effect stacking.
# Jan 03 2003 at 2:11 AM Rating: Decent
There is a hard cap of 30hp/tick on worn regen.

There is a "soft" cap of 250 on +atk, but no hard cap known. The 250 number doesn't actually affect worn +atk, but instead the atk bonus of the Avatar buff procced from Sleeper's Tomb weapons. Gonna use a little addition to illustrate.

1-150 +atk = everything is normal
151+ +atk = you get less than 100+atk from eff:Avatar on your weapons. You only get enough to bring you up to +250 total.

Avatar (and all variations thereof) cast on you by a shaman is unaffected by this cap, and will always add the full +atk ammount.

Hope everyone could follow. Anyhow, all this is extremely unlikely to impact more than 1% of any server.

RE: AoB as permanent effect stacking.
# Jan 08 2004 at 4:25 PM Rating: Decent
edit wouldn't work on such an old post :P

Worn regen is capped at 35/tick, now

Worn atk is capped at +250
RE: AoB as permanent effect stacking.

there are 2 kinds of aura of battle in game. the effect on this belt is worn, so it gives no buff icon, so it is stackable with everything.there are other items with aura of battle click,so it will give a buff icon,(inspect, it will show up as "triggered",i think there is a pally/sk shield somewhere with it),in this case, aura of battle might give some stackability problems ( but i think only with other aura of battle click items).

does anyone have any input as to weather or not this effect stacks with Grim Aura and any other attack buffs, song spell or item based?

I know that it does not stack with the Ranger spell Strength of Nature, so I suspect it may have stacking issues with other ATK buffs.

EDIT: The clicky version of Aura of Battle, that is. not the perm effect.

Once I got my epic, I got the turtle belt and sold the RBG. You do lose a few hp but your job as a rogue is to dish out damage (and stay alive with evade :P). The extra attack is why I got this.
RE: help

for any melee, haste is essential. all other things come after that. if you already have a haste item in some other slot, then this belt rocks for sure. but again, haste first )
