Fish Scales?
# Sep 27 2007 at 2:56 PM Rating: Decent
I know the post below is old, but I've never had to click to cast any spell. I just put on the ring, in or out of no air envirement, and wa-la, no breathing needed. No fish bones, no nothing.

This is useable by all classes EXCEPT:
WAR MNK BRD ROG BST BER

And the effect works at level 1.

Query? Does Lodi still spawn and does this item still drop?
RE: price
# Mar 09 2005 at 12:50 AM Rating: Decent
Yes, Lodi still spawns and does drop the ring. Got one today off of him.
RE: dumb question
# Jun 28 2002 at 6:20 PM Rating: Decent
the ring is like a fishbone earring, wear it and it works until it is taken off.Personally i think this ring is better than some of the rings i use(luclin effect ones, SV, and some other plain stat rings)
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 08 2002 at 10:29 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Bah they should make a permanent invis ring now they're at it! =)
RE: bah!
# Mar 29 2005 at 5:39 PM Rating: Decent
One ring to rule them all!
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 25 2002 at 7:40 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yeah, but how would you atatck invisable? you would have to take the ring off, attack and put it back on when you wanted invis, unless it is clickable......

What I want to know is why is this thing so cheap?
This is SO much better than the Fishbone Earring, mainly because of the extra stats on it.
With 35 mana, a Druid does not lose all that much, and if your wis is near 200 anyway, this will not hurt. My wis is 195 wearing this ring. In fact, I have 7 items without wis, so I am not too worried about wisdom at my level anymore. Soon, I will have 200wis from like 3 items... hehe

Anyway, I think this ring rocks. I would rather spend 10k on this, than 4k on the fishbone earring.
#REDACTED, Posted: May 08 2002 at 1:22 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Goodie for you......
RE: Price....

to the best of my knowledge, wisdom always could go above up to 255... please, correct me if im wrong~

You are correct. However, at the time of the post to which that was responding, there was a diminished return for having wis over 200....

#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 28 2002 at 2:23 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yeah, wouldn't that staff off Ixiblat Fer make for a nice monk weapon? I don't see why monks don't get the chance to loot it...

I bought this tonight for 2500p after hearing a guy auction it for 3k. Thought it would be a nice upgrade to my jagged band =)
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 12 2001 at 7:39 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I got this item last night. I'm a Ogre ShadowKnight, but I can't seem to get the effect to work. Does it take a spell component, ie Fish Scales? Let me know.

RE: Umm, anyone notice this ...

It's "caster" wearable. Meaning any and all who can cast can wear this ring. Sorry Warriors, Rogues, Monks need not apply. Also as a note BST can not wear this ring the pic just hasn't been updated since Luclin was released.

Want to know why?

Because finally someone realized that items that give Mana don't need to be useable by classes that don't use Mana.

I'm glad my Paladin won't have to argue with some warrior over looting rights for this ring.
Here's the deal
# Feb 22 2001 at 7:38 PM Rating: Default
When Lodizal dies, all the tanks and healers want the shell. It can be turned in for a cloak (well, a shield that fits in the back slot) that is as uber as the better dragon lewtz.

So, if this ring drops it will go to a caster, unless a pickup group kills Lodizal (hehe). That caster will probably have something much better for normal use, but will use this ring like a fishbone earring: for when it's time to go swimming :)
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 02 2001 at 10:44 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) just a note.. anyone who uses the words uber and lewtz in the same sentence had better be kidding )
RE: Umm, anyone notice this ...
# Jan 07 2001 at 5:52 PM Rating: Default
I agree. Theres plenty of other rings that a warrior could use. This is not one of them. The AC, STR, and HP are nice but there is better. Granted, this would be nice on a warrior but hybrids or casters with their notoriously low STR would benefit more from it.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 11 2001 at 10:26 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) But... don't bards suck?
RE: Umm, anyone notice this ...
# Jan 08 2001 at 12:41 PM Rating: Decent
Nice try, bards use mana for 2 songs and gain mana from mana items.

What does he hit for?
# Dec 22 2000 at 11:27 AM Rating: Decent
Can some please tell me what he hits for, i heard he had 32000hp and is copletly MR, i also heard he is only hits for 70s, is this true, if so, he is a dead turtle.
RE: What does he hit for?
# Jun 18 2002 at 6:07 AM Rating: Decent
He bit me for 300, bit for 250, bit for 200, bit for 230, bit for 250 again, then spit my corpse out on the ground. That's all it took when I tangled with him at level 33. :)

Theres another Turtle in Iceclad called coruduth, hes got very high MR and hits in the 70s even though its about lvl 5. Might be that one your thinking of
RE: What does he hit for?
# Dec 22 2000 at 1:58 PM Rating: Decent
He hits for alot, between 150 - 200 give or take. It took us 3 high lvl groups to kill him, but it probably coulf have been done with 2. The trick is to wait for him to spawn and start attacking the 2 named gnolls, they will knock him down a signficant amount of hp before you fight him. Then debuff like crazy, hes not mrs but at such a high lvl it will be hard to get spells to stick. One last thing, he can't cast spells, but he can summon you, so if he locks onto a caster that person is as good as dead.

Wtf 3 groups!?!? Only took me 3 people, shammy to slow, warrior to tank, and monk to do damage. Don't know how you took 3 groups /shrug

Ummmm, you are full of it! I have seen Lodi wipe out 3 groups of 50-55ish np. 3 people, lol
RE: What does he hit for?
# Jul 31 2002 at 6:55 AM Rating: Decent
Actually he might not be full of it. I have killed Lodi with 1 pickup group. That's right 6 people. And none of us died. We kited him. Wasn't hard at all.

He may well not be full of it.

My guild has killed Lodizal several times, and usually with only one group. We killed him this morning with one group, and the mage (epic Arch Mage - my RL wife) didn't even have her pet out. There's quite a bit of difference in power between people "50-55" and people 60 with 12+ AA points each.

RE: Lodizal
# Dec 15 2000 at 1:21 AM Rating: Default
He's a big *** lvl 60 turtle who kills everything in sight around the gnolls in iceclad ocean, oh yeah and he can summon you if you try to run.
RE: Lodizal
# Aug 15 2004 at 3:43 AM Rating: Decent
just an fyi, mobs that can summon wont do it till they have taken 2% damage. so if you were just running by and saw him after he spawned, and you managed to get aggro, if you run he wont summon you.
cool
# Dec 13 2000 at 3:40 PM Rating: Default
was about to say it would be a nice hybrid ring till i saw the effect. with endure breath, the hp and ac it could be a diecent ring for just about any class.
Sweet

I really love how many items are coming out of Velious with unlimited charge effects on them. Soon I'll be carrying around a backpack of items that don't do much of anything but save a spells slot so I can mem a nuke instead. =)
Enduring breath is a great one to have on this item too. Woot I love it. Especially since clerics don't ever get endure breath.
Dumb question
# Dec 14 2000 at 1:31 PM Rating: Default
Is the ring castable or like a fishbone earring?
RE: Dumb question
# Dec 21 2002 at 2:41 PM Rating: Decent
The effect is permenant, so as long as you wear it you'll have enduring breath.
