Question on Lodi Recharge
# Jun 18 2004 at 3:24 PM Rating: Decent
Can Lodizal Shell Boots be recharged once the charges have been used? If thats possible what would the components be?

Got these in PoK for 500 plat the other day, dude was firm and wanted nothing to do with my hageling. Still I am quite happy with them for that price, also they have really decent ac for a ranger feet item.

How to use these?
# Feb 25 2004 at 9:24 AM Rating: Decent
Could someone please explain to me how to use these boots. This is my first item with this tough of buff. How do I activate them , how to use on others. How to shut them off. I am currently wearing General Coterie boots as a lvl 30 pally. What are the negatives to these (other than looks). Whast spells wont work with these. Can I just shut them off to use other spells. Seems great to have when I am out in the middle of nowhere and buffs run out. Will it work with holy armor. Thank you very much. Megapec (cazic thule) Paid 100 plat.
RE: How to use these?
# Mar 03 2004 at 8:09 PM Rating: Decent
These are a right click item. Unfortunately most other buffs over write this buff so it is useless for a pally of any lvl. Good thing you paid 100 pp for them. Put them on your alt warrior when you get better
Mild Warning
# Jan 01 2004 at 9:59 AM Rating: Default
Just a mild warning on these boots as far as looks go.. they are hideous lol. Worth it... but hideous.

I just put them on my ranger (who's armor previous to this had been dyed a very nice shade of blue.) only to discover that these boots.. while great in every other respect.. look like they have no graphic at all save the ugly green shade they give your chars feet...So I had a ranger in shiny light blue plate leggings.. with ugly green barefeet sticking out.. and they are NOT dyeable.. the foot slot had already been dyed a matching light blue.. it totally did not take the dye... I tried to re-dye and it STILL would not change color.. so.. I am now dyeing my beautiful armor.. dark green *sigh LOL. (I have logged out and logged back in.. left the game entirely.. everything.. it is not a glitch.)

So if you want these nice boots with a lvl 1 clicky.. be prepared to deal with the ugly factor and change your dye accordingly. (unless you like darkish army green lol.)

(This has been a public service announcment Smiley: tongue )

Sounds to me like you just need

This generally prevents dyes from miscoloring your skin.

Crap you mean you cant dye them at all? NOOOO! I also dyed my leggings blue and I'm waiting to see what other armour I get before I dye my boots a color...but this just sucks...nice boots tho.

Talk about lucky.. someone on our server had cheap spider fur gloves.. i was thinking of buying them to re-sell.. I asked him how much he wanted (Starting the whole haggling process) when he said he was about to page me and ask if I would trade for my stein of moggok. I sat there for a second a little unbelieving.. when next thing I know he is offering 2 pairs of spider fur gloves.. AND THESE BOOTS... just for that stein.. course I stopped pausing and said yes right away LOL... my baby lvl 3 ranger will be very happy ;)
Damn Lucky.

For those of you that read /gu comics, this story will seem oddly familiar. My friend was searching in the bazaar on a computer next to me when I asked him to look up the prize of a Lodizal Shell Shield (I told him to just type in Lodizal.) The query spit out 3 lodizal shell shields (1 for 3k, 1 for 3.5k, and another for 4k.) and 2 Lodizal shell boots, one selling for 950pp and one selling for a whopping 100pp. That's right, the man missed a zero and was selling them for a whopping ONE HUNDRED PLATINUM. Needless to say we got them ASAP and are now happily enjoying free turtle skin. (His Spirit armor is actually better at level 35 (friend = pally)) How's that for a deal?

Sheild sells for 3k on your server? Its still 10k on ours (drinal)
RE: Damn Lucky.
# Sep 14 2003 at 4:40 AM Rating: Decent
You know I understand that it is a good deal, but I personally have made buys like that and then waited for the person to come back from afk and give the item back to him/her for what I paid several times. Just think how much it would suck if you screwed up and someone took you for a 900 Plat loss. You can put the traders name on your friends list even if they are afk. Yeah go ahead and call me a sucker, but I try to make the gaming experiance something to be enjoyed. Oh yeah, one last thing...Karma baby, Karma :)

Nice Boots for Ranger
# Jun 08 2003 at 9:26 AM Rating: Default
I managed to grab these boots for about 600pp on the FV server.
My level 20 Ranger is loving them. Turtle skin is a great AC buff when I am soloing because it stacks with the skin buff lineup.
The stats are these boots are very decent for the price. 7 strength!
The only minor complaint I have is how the graphics look ( on luclin female woodelf model). I thought it would have at least a chain look to it, but nope, they're your birthday shoes. I've got my feet slot dyed so it looks like my ranger has green ballerina shoes on. Eck, that is not the look I'm going for! I can't imagine kicking a bad guy and not breaking a few toes. But the boots are so nice I will set all fashion sense aside and continue dancing around the baddies.

So I hear alot of whining about how this effect is not as good as cleric buffs - so no kidding - did u know that u can left click on an effect to drop it - then u can get any cleric buff you would like. = )

RE: boots
# Jun 02 2003 at 11:24 PM Rating: Decent
Did you know that this is a lvl 14 Shaman AC buff?...obviously it is not as good as a cleric buff...also did you know if the Cleric is going to give you a better AC buff like greater than lvl 14 then it will overtake the buff, which means you dont have to remove it.
Compared withh Crystal Chitin
# Mar 08 2003 at 9:12 PM Rating: Default
Just an observation: While shopping for a new feet slot item I was satisfied with the stats of Crystal Chitin Boots (Ac20 Str7 Dex3) for my warrior. The price listed on this site is 4k. These boots are ac14, str7, hp20 and an Ac Buff at a listed price of nearly 1k. Anyone see my point yet? The triggered Ac buff puts the ac well over the 20ac provided by the CC boots...so I am going to grab these over CC boots. hope that observation helps any others out.

mmmm crystal chitin are better than those ones...
raw ac is better than buff one

turtle skin is not stackable with others AC buffs (such as cleric ones)
so you shall loose AC when grouped... is it what you really want ? :)

No But I am also a Solo class (Warrior) and would much rather solo when camping named mobs for loot purposes...so the ac Buff in this situation seems better off

LOL...warriors solo??...you must be on some serious drugs...get into a guild and you'll basically get first choice on item loots, since you are the tank...unless of course the item is caster only.

Heh, I can understand that its been nearly a year since you posted Kayyn, but even a year ago my warrior alt was in his 30s soloing Tribals in Dawnshroud. He solo'd the levels leading up to 30s and is still soloing today. This solo process has been made so much easier with the introduction of the lvl 10 warrior regen discipline, increased HP regeneration while sitting, and the ability to bind wounds up to 70% I have found that a second or third player just slows me down =)
Hope you try to play a solo warrior sometime to find out the benefits for yourself.
Oh... and this is also post weapon nerf, so its not because I'm wearing 50k pp worth of armor and stuff.

Since when is a warrior a solo class?? Hehe that's pretty hillarious.

Saw these boots at 1k in the Bazaar on Bertox, which intrigued me so I looked 'em up on my other computer. A great shopping stratgey I must say, since I like to read about an item before I make a decision. Think I'll pass on 1k for these.

A good warrior can solo things... If they are hunting loots anyway. As far as getting exp... the downtime on bandaging or sitting makes it pretty much a waste of time
RE: Compared with Crystal Chitin
# Nov 01 2003 at 9:15 AM Rating: Default
Aye. Admittedly you'd need to fork out a bit of cash. But there's no reason why a War with right-clicky heals (ie: cobalt breastplate) and some nice hp regen items couldn't solo. I think it'd be feasible.

well CAN solo and being a "solo class" are 2 different things IMO. i have a warrior alt, and i would in no way consider it a "solo class".

So I told the group and they said the boots are yours Taz. And when we got Lodi down. The boots dropped.. And the chanter in the group that was the 1st person to say the boots are your if they drop. Looted them really fast.. I asked her and she said how much will you give me for em'? I was SOOOOOOO ticked... It sucked.. The chanter looted 2 things that day. Everyone else got 1 thing. except me.. I can understand your frustration. Nothing like a greedy jerk to spoil your day. Was hunting goblins in High Hold and had a ninja looter SK, took 20 consecitive kills. When the Pg Fragment I needed dropped, I asked for it and this was the reply "How much will you give me for it?". Gutt-less leader wouldn't do a dang thing. Just want to add if you were the leader, kick the greedy #%@ out of the group. I think they should instatute a auto-loot command like anarchy usess. If not that im thinking of starting a web page with lists of chronic ninja looters.

Was in WW trying to find certain named dragons to kill. There were seven of us when all of a sudden a guild member in guild chat said Lodi is up. After a quick ponder, we decided to port to IC and hunt him down. All seven of us went a huntin, miracously our druid finally got him on track, snared it, gave us loc and we proceeded on our killing spree.

He hits pretty dam hard, has quite a few hp's, but was quickly slowed by our 60 chanter. He became well managed after.

He dropped the boots, (two pair), shield, and fourth war plans. (i believe that is the name of it).

Look forward to using the boots.

Proc Stacking
# Jun 13 2002 at 8:29 PM Rating: Default
I've been kicking around the idea of buying these just for an extra buff but they would be worthless if they don't stack well.

Will they stack with cleric AC buffs (I.E. Shield of words/bulwark of faith)?

Will they stack with the shielding line of spells (I.E. Major shielding from my blood ember BP)?

Will it stack with ranger buffs (Call of Earth and Strength of Nature)? I'm fairly confident this one is a yes ;)
RE: Proc Stacking
# Jun 18 2002 at 12:21 PM Rating: Decent
It's an AC buff of Shaman line, so it stacks with everything but the cleric and others shaman AC buffs

I like these boots, got them as a concelation prize as I did not win the Club like I wanted. I put them on my SK as I already have both Cobalt & Skyshrine Warrior boots. The clickable AC sure is nice as a SK =0) esp since I solo mostly with my SK.

Just kinda shocked that these boots aren't Monky usable. Now I'm not one of those everything light is a monk item, but I just think they should be for how good they are for a monk. Maybe it would be "too powerful" for a monk, I dunno as I dont play one, just my thoughts tho.

I havnt tried clicking these on anyone else yet, but I'll give that a shot soon and let ya know what I find out (unless I forget, hehe)
Excellent Boots.

Traded a Journeyman's Walking Stick for one. Not sure who got the upper hand in the trade, but an extra 10 AC from a buff is always useful.

Hello everyone. Quick question: is the Turtle Skin effect right clickable on anyone? So if I'm in a group, I can use these to give the effect anyone? Or I could just wander around NFP aimlessly giving it to people? Thanks!
RE: Effect

yes these are right clickable on ANYONE and do NOT need a re-agent. one of my in game friends has them and uses them constantly lol. so i do know for a fact.
Effect
# Feb 08 2002 at 5:09 PM Rating: Default
My 25 warrior twink casts fine with these, though the effect does not stack with the spirit armor line of spells. Also, the ac posts on this board are all over the place, so my guess is that the ac boost may depend on the level of the char casting the spells. In practice I only got about 5-7ac boost on my 25.

These boots are a must for my ranger. Tolan Boots add 18 ac, but this is 21 ac and can cast on other grp members. Nice!!. Need to make that stuff called money now lol. These go for about 3k on torvo server.
Turtle Skin
# Oct 17 2001 at 1:15 PM Rating: Default
Ok, does Turtle skin stack with shield of words at least? It's a lvl14 shammy buff. Will group with shammy alot after 50, does that make this effect pointless? DW boots is 21AC, this one is 14AC, 7Stren, 20HP. I'd take 7AC rather than 7stren and 20HP for Pally. Besides DW Boots are way cheaper than this one, just my 2cp.
RE: Turtle Skin
# Nov 26 2001 at 7:22 PM Rating: Default
The effect does 7ac, at least for me at 40, so that would make these just as good as DW boots. Maybe the effect on the boots makes up for the str.
