How about they designed this to be quested for fun? Smiley: wink2
Hey another idea is you can quest this and level & explore at the same time!
Blow yer mind on this one.....
luclin expansion = BAZAAR, maybe they tried to give us something to sell there.
Any way i'm having fun doing the armor quests.

Actually, I started on the Twilight armor quests as soon as Luclin came out. I was, in fact, one of the few people on my entire server that managed to get patched that day. (That would include my two roommates, who absolutely could not connect, even though we shared a connection then.) I have been collecting and trading these quest pieces since then, and the greaves are the only piece I've managed to finish. However, I never did find the last NPC I needed, I bought the item at the bazaar.

From experience, I'd say buying the parts from someone else who happened to collect them is a FAR better way to get these. I can't say I didn't enjoy trying to hunt all the named things I could track for a while, and even dragged my roommates to certain doom (well, okay, not really, I was the one who died the most. The ranger, go figure...), and I just had to give up, the quests got too monotonous.

In fact, I gave up so much, I started college so I wouldn't have time to play EQ so I couldn't try these quests anymore... oh, wait, that's a bad thing. :)
Who was designing it?

i after carefuly studding ENTIRE Twighlight armor i come conclusion it semms that

One team of people at verant design all drop-gear and complitly another non-related team designs quest gear. and it appers that 2nd team still lives in the time frame somewehre between old EQ prior to Kunark expansion.

lets look at the facts:
1. The levels on old quested armor (Lambent, Crafted) are too dificult compared to reward it gives (considering todays drop gear for sale at bazaar)
2. The Tiwglit armor is at best an upgrade to old quested armor.
3. There are plenty of Kunark and velios droped gear that can be BOUGHT at relativly low price which is BETTER than this. What comes in mind is:

RyGor - same quality as twightligt (only goes to like 150pp a piece, 500 full set from a farmer), and a newbee can make 500pp by level 10 seling spiderling silk.

Sebilite, kylong from kunark - better than TW, yet only little more expensive than Rygor. By the level you can quest for TW (say 45) you SHOULD be able to farm enough cash in MUCH less time and with MUCH less risk to buy the Sebilite or Kylong

Or take for example the low levels Luclin drop: suled weapons, brigadine armor, loda kai, rhino hide, all that has EXACTLY same stats as brozne weapons, and ringmail, WHY THE HECK WHY put same items under new names in a game?? Just to pile up more useless crap into DB?? or to praudly say to your customers: Look!!! we got almost 5k new items in new expasion!! 4k of them is total new bee yard junk which is IDENTICAL to newbee yard junk from original EQ, but hey its the ## that matters!!

Ofcourse with all the crap floating around it woudl take Verant YEARS to clean up the DB from variations of Rusty and bronze and Sulied and poorly balanced and raw hide and wicker hide and toons and toons of USELESS vendor crap that adds NOTHING to the game but a space in DB file

Of course they MIGHT even consider doing it...And reconsider now outrages stats on old world quested armor, and how come gear from old Planes is now WORSE than what coudl be bought at bazaar for just a few KKs..They coudl do it one day...and will finsih it just at the time when EQ2 will be realesed..oh well...Story needs a storyteller - agree here and verant does it well, but a warehouse needs a manager which is yet to be found
Where to find Pieces for Woodman's Greaves

Hope this helps.

Astral Jewel Drops off multiple cratures in Luclin (Got mine in Scarlet Desert from a Sun Rev)

Mark of Ocean Drops off Vas Ren Watermaster in Scarlet Desert (He spawns in at the water pond, in one of the group spots)

Pouch of Fire Stones Drops off a Powerful Rockhopper in Mons Letalis (UBER Rare Spawn, paths near zone to The Grey. VERY Hard to kill! Do not even TRY at 45 with out a FULL Group!)

Cat Skin Pouch Drops off a Cral Ligi Skinner in Tenebrous Mountains (kill all Cral Ligi, he is a random RARE Spawn, as I got all of the other "different" Cral Ligis up to 3 times before I got him, AND, I got him on patch day, after server Pop)

That being said, Verant is CRAZY if they think getting these is even MINUTELY worth the time (took me about 24 hours total) and effort to get! They are good for someone in the 30's, but at the level it takes to GET them, they are not worth it at all. Unless you are like me, and just wanted Ranger Items, don't waste your time. It was not fun. 8)

If this helps, please rate it. Thanks.

P.S. - They are the standard GREEN Look, do not look like plate, but like chain mail.

Seems kinda dumb you guys saying "I got X armour.. and its better than these.. etc etc"

Im sure theres much better planar armour than your crappy Seb Armour... or than crappy sentry gear..

These are ok for the lvl you can get them at.. and unlike Sentry gear they arent No Drop

It is kinda nice though when you are reading players comments and find that their is something better you can get with relatively same or less effort.

Ok the stats are totally ranger-oriented and the whole set prolly gives you a nice boost to stats, but the AC is exactly the same as on Ivy Etched. Talking about a total failure at verants side...
stuff

They aren't supposed to be epic or uber, however, there was a rumor that Verant was implementing epic armor with Luclin, though as far as I know they didn't go through with it

# Jan 31 2002 at 12:11 AM Rating: Default
i have seb scale and they are 16ac srt/cha/wis+4 svfire/poison+2 wt 1.2 and these are a normal drop item not a quest item. these legs bite not even worth it and they say these are the luclin epic/uber armor (LOL) a real disappointment after the other great stuff they have added
RE: these bite
# May 12 2002 at 7:01 AM Rating: Decent
These are fine for level 40ish; you need to be level 55ish to get Seb Legs. These are not meant for the high-levels who belittle it.

I don;t think anyone is claiming these are the luclin epic/uber armor.

Some people like to quest for their gear vice get it as drops. These legs are a pain to get I admit. They are decent for teh level needed to attain, assuming you aren't twinked and and prefer to get your own gear. Personally I would rather sit in SS as a ranger or kill ry gorr orcs to get leggings at the level needed to get these.
