Proc
# Mar 27 2001 at 3:25 AM Rating: Default
Energy sap is 55% slow, not 75%.
Best for Warriors
# Mar 25 2001 at 1:32 PM Rating: Default
All the arguing with Rogues and Ragebringer blah blah blah. This weapon is for Warriors! I own one and its a fantastic taunt weapon. Its very fast and procs alot which creates uber taunt, not what a rogue really wants imo.
rogues, this is a secondary weapon
# Mar 08 2001 at 7:54 AM Rating: Decent
Ragebringer is by far better. However if you're not a rogue, well go nuts.

He spawns about every 4 days realtime. Always has the Willsapper. Its stats are now:
mag/lor/nd
13/20
9ac 35hp
Energy Sap - 35% Slow
1.9 WT
Primary only, same class/race allowances.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 19 2001 at 11:12 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I actually beleive they will not nerf it do to how hard it is to get u must go with a humongous group of 50+ the dragon has a 1k dmg aoe spell so this isnot as easy as expected and he hits quite hard... And no ragebringer does not have more dmg than thi ragebringer 10/25 effect seething furry a nice 32% haste spell which also adds attack ac and str
RE: I doubt
# Feb 05 2001 at 2:34 AM Rating: Excellent
Too bad the Ragebringer is 15/25 and the haste is 40%...try researching something before you try and down play it
Too bad it doesn't drop from a dragon then
# Jan 26 2001 at 9:06 AM Rating: Default
It drops off Vaniki, who's 6mannable if you're with a good team with the best equipment.
RE: I doubt
# Jan 19 2001 at 11:52 PM Rating: Default
the ragebringer is 15/25

In addition to being primary hand only, Willsapper is now NO DROP. I am uncertain as of yet to whether or not the proc has been altered.

nice weapon

This a pretty amazing weapon, i am shocked they are letting that many classes use it. For a rogue, however, there is no way this pushes your ragebringer into the offhand. It's not even close.
The ragebringer has 2 more dmage and similar delay, the difference between the two in straight melee combat is negligable, but the difference in backstab damage is huge. At the level you would be able to attain this weapon backstab damage makes regular melee damage sort of inconsequential. Not to mention the FEROCIOUS proc off the ragebringer (ac, atk, and haste buff).

This wep owns ...having a good dmg/dly, and a proc that slows a target by 75% thats leet , and considering its a good 1h slash wep.

# Dec 14 2000 at 12:26 AM Rating: Default
Umm, first of all it has an EXTREMELY good dmg/dly, think about it, trak toothe is 10/20... and its worth 10K!, second 75% slow is VERY VERY GOOD! third... lol its piercing not 1hs!
very very sweet weapon, I can see it being nerfed pretty soon...
nerf!
# Dec 12 2000 at 2:43 AM Rating: Default
Is it just me or is this pretty much as good as the rogue epic?
Paladins can use?
# Dec 14 2000 at 7:52 AM Rating: Default
Do paladins get piercing skills now?
RE: Paladins can use?
# Jan 16 2001 at 6:07 PM Rating: Default
yes they do, they also can use the crystal grinder ant messanger of the queen(pally only piercer), and i belive later on the ywill keep finding more, oh btw my pally is getting her skill at piercing up :)

RE: nerf!
# Dec 12 2000 at 4:43 AM Rating: Default
Just you, considering it doesn't have any of the stat bonuses the epic has.
I'd have to say...
# Jan 17 2001 at 5:57 AM Rating: Default
WHY THE HELL CAN'T ROGUE PUT THIS IN OFF HAND!!
ragebringer always goes in primary without a doubt, backstab damage off 15 damage weapon is just too sweet. but this is now primary only, and only a rogue would know how to put this to good use, most warriors know to stay away from the pointy end of objects, paladins don't think peirceing weapons exist, rest of the melee classes almost cut them selves tryin, and casters, lol, caster weilding a weapon beyond lvl 5 is hilarious.

guess I'll have to settle for a stupid blood point for off hand.

RE: I'd have to say...
# Apr 08 2001 at 2:52 AM Rating: Decent
As a shadowknight I would use this weapon in a heartbeat over the MoSS I currently wield.
Well, consider this though
# Dec 12 2000 at 5:12 AM Rating: Default
It is certainly good enough to push the Ragebringer into the off-hand slot. With the delay down to 20 it will do considerably more primary hand damage than Ragebringer. Backstabs would drop a fair bit but regular damage would be amazing. The proc is just icing, provided the taunt is not too insane.

Lets just say that this is awfully nice.
RE: Well, consider this though
# Dec 12 2000 at 5:17 AM Rating: Default
Good god, I just noticed the +5 AC to boot. I'll upgrade my opinion of it to clearly one of the top two Rogue weapons in the game. (I was considering Blade of the Black Dragon Eye but not only does it not drop anymore but is clearly inferior.)
RE: Well, consider this though
# Dec 12 2000 at 3:37 PM Rating: Default
Well think of the power in a caster twinks hands MUHAHHAHA

You know how many orc pawns a level 2 could kill in 10 secs with this?
RE: Well, consider this though
# Feb 07 2001 at 5:11 PM Rating: Decent
umm, how's a level 2 twink supposed to even get his hands on a NODROP item like this? think.
RE: Well, consider this though
# Dec 12 2000 at 3:51 PM Rating: Default
Not many, cause the dam cap at that lvl is 12... But actually, you seem new enough to sound really cool, but you just have plain no clue. Good Luck with this on a lvl 2 caster twink.
RE: Well, consider this though
# Dec 12 2000 at 7:36 PM Rating: Decent
Caster just dont twink really well. Even with this weapon they wont be doing even a fraction of the damage they could.
RE: Well, consider this though
# Dec 12 2000 at 7:57 PM Rating: Default
I can believe that a group of players strong enough to kill this MoB would consider letting it go to a twink, let alone a caster twink at that. It belongs in the hands of a warrior, ranger or rogue and a lvl 55+ one at that. I am a believer in randoming loot, but not on an item like this.

Hey! Let's not forget that it can be used by Paladins!
Given that Paladins are the ones who don't get dual wield, the other three classes can stick with two weapons that have slightly lower damage and/or slightly higher delay, putting the Paladin closer to doing the same level of damage.
RE: Well, consider this though
# Jan 15 2001 at 10:03 PM Rating: Default
I'm sorry but this doesn't belong in the hands of any class but a rogue, rogues get a damage bonus for using the piercing skill, and also have by far the highest piercing skill cap. paired with a ragebringer it is closer to 13/12
RE: Well, consider this though
# Feb 05 2001 at 5:38 PM Rating: Decent
I imagine that rogues would use this long enough to get the proc to stick, then switch back to the Ragebringer in the primary.

Remember, this is primary only now!

This is a tactic I used at level 5-13 or so with a coldain velium dagger for the 12pt dd spell, since I had dex over 120 it proc'd alot.

Great idea, switch it in till it procs then go to work with ragebringer.

I like that Idea alot.
And I doubt it would be "just given" to anyone, random on it for anyone who has real use for it that helped kill the mob.
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 26 2001 at 10:07 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) why should this go to just a rogue? i am a warrior and i duel weild bloodpoints... i would be soooo pissed off if the was just given to a rogue

Energy Sap...

From what I've heard (on the FoH message board) the effect is a 75%(!!!) slow spell on the target.

...this doesnt push ragebringer to offhand...by lvl 60 dual wield hits every turn so you get the full speed advantages of this weapon plus the extra backstab damage of ragebringer
RE: Energy Sap...
# Mar 21 2001 at 8:26 PM Rating: Default
Actually, even if it werent primary hand ONLY, it STILL deserves to be primary OVER Ragebringer. Use your head, with the primary hand dmg bonus in regular melee, with lower delay u hit with primary hand dmg bonus more often than with ragebringer. Besides, the dmg/dly on this weapon is higher than Ragebringer to begin with, and ragebringer effect is NOT a proc, its perma-effect as long as its wielded. As for Backstabbing, just swap in Ragebringer for the Backstab and swap it back afterwards. Reading this thread makes me realize how many clue-less people are out there :)
RE: Energy Sap...
# Mar 21 2001 at 10:38 PM Rating: Default
your not a rogue are you? BS comes back every 8 sec meaning your losing more damage then your gaining by switching the weapon each time... with the haste BS comes back even faster, so better just to pick one over the other. Which i think damage is better while still getting in a good BS :)
RE: Energy Sap...
# Apr 06 2001 at 10:43 AM Rating: Default
And you're not a bard... even a lazy bard will often swap melee slot items every 4 seconds. Speaking of which, this is an excellent item for them, on par with BoH.
RE: Energy Sap...
# May 07 2001 at 2:53 AM Rating: Good
Now I am a bard, and I just don't see this being a bard weapon...well, that's just because I'm opposed to giving really high end weapons to someone who doesn't have double attack when it could be put in the hands of someone who could do almost twice as much with it...Most of the reason I like my BoH is the free song anyway, though 10/18 is a nice side benefit...
RE: Energy Sap...

The weapon is main hand only.
