Seen the augment drop 1 time in about 50 missions in the Oubliette Task. It dropped off one of the Scrykin. From what I understand its just a rare drop off any mob in the mission. Have heard of it dropping off various mobs from the mission on other boards (including the mites).
Had mine for about a month now.

I've spent the last few days killing creeping swarmers in Skylance 2: The Oubliette. I've gotten 3 range slots and zero augs. Someone told me that while flagging our guild when POR was new, he got a couple from this mission. Obviously, the drop rate has been nerfed. I've been zoning in 6 toons, kill the first 3 pods (9-10 each pod roughlym so 27-30 mobs each time) with damage shield and cyclone (to ensure each mob gets hit) and then everyone /taskquits and the bard gets a new expedition. The total time from starting one to starting the next was less than 10 minutes. I have been doing this for HOURS now and none have dropped. It's either super rare or it doesn't drop in that mission any more.

Got one of a creeping swarmer in the Oubliette mission on 22. August 2006. I had to kill "only" about 900 stonemites to get it... seemingly I was very lucky.

It still drops - since it dropped today.
Did also plenty missions (well the start of it) because it is a fast way to level evolving items like The Shattered Blade of Illsalin.

This item actually drops off the trash mob stolemites in Skylance: The Oubliette Task.
We had two drop at one time the first time I ever did the Oubliette task.
