Spine Chill Spear  

 

So.... This procs at what level?

Bought one two days ago. At what level does this awesome item proc.?

i know the dmg of the spine chill spear is better then the burning rapier but the rapier procs early then the spear does and the proc is 1dmg point less but the rapier is a little faster and has stats a rogue needs more? what should i do? i was thinking of getting the rapier then when i get to lvl i believe 40 which is when the spear procs us that instead of the rapier?

3 of us, 39 ranger, 40 wizy, and 41 druid (me) pounded the snot out of this guy last night. we're not twinks either cuz these are our first characters. we were running long the coast last night when out of no where he agroed the wizy. I have no clue what the hell he was doin way out there either. He dropped the Rygorr battlemail. would have been wicked if he droped the spear also, my beastlord could really use it.

I finally finagled a Charred Guardian Shield and a Spine Chill Spear to replace my Mortificator Staff. Since the MS is 2hb I know I'm better off with the 15 wis the two new items provide me rather than the 7 wis 45 mana the MS gave me. I'm having a hard time selling my MS and am considering holding on to it since there are other wis buffing items out there that can sufficiently buff my wis without having to give up the MS for good. If I can get a good price or good trade for my MS I'll go ahead and do it but I'm not in as much of a hurry to relinquish this rare item as I previously was. I suppose I'll just test the winds and see what comes from my patience. It's hard to give up an item that has been good to me for so very, very long. I'm still looking for an Ebon War Spear for my range slot unless something better comes along. But now that my wis is hovering at the 200 range I'm feeling more comfortable with holding on to the MS until a sweet deal comes along. Here's to hoping!

First of all it procs at 40... I got mine as an unespected gift by helping to buff and heal a very nice lvl 49 war who was camping ice giants. I asked for nothing in return so he handed me a great weapon (go fig) anyway, I have a jade prod already and have found myself haveing a problem... The prod is 11/30 and the spear is 10/28. Seeing how I'm only in the low 20s, I've opted to use the prod till I get a little higher, which is what I suggest to anyone who has both and aren't lvl 40 yet. But since this thing does have a very nice dd for a proc, if you've only got a few lvls left till 40 and see this thing, buy it and bank it till you hit that lvl. 40 has been called the worst lvl in the game, maybe that kind of birthday present will help soften the blow.

Yeppers. Mine finally started procing when I hit 40. Coupled with a Dragon Horn Ykesha, I am one processing d00d.

While fighting a Hill Giant in Rathe, I had 8 procs in one battle with these two weapons.

I have one of these on my new rogue (had to start over because of complex reasons) and it is a great weapon BUT it doesn't proc on me in forever and a year. I was wondering if there is a good piercer out there that is just as good but doesn't have a proc or has a proc of 10 or so. There should be something with 10dmg and 25 dly or SOMETHING.... shouldn't there be? Anyway, my plan was to do a straight across trade and not get a better/worse weapon, just get the same value and not have to get to lvl 42 for the weapon's full use to come into effect. PLZ help me out here. Donka shan and peace!

I was in North Kaladim yesterday when I see one of these on auction, so I send a tell to the seller: Talane a high lvl hummie Druidess that had just kindly bind me there.

I ask her for some info about that SPS, and then gasp at the stats of that wonderful spear (nice for a WIS caster), then I try to swap it for a blackened alloy longsword, blackened alloy gloves and lizardscale mantle (AC5 INT3 WIS3). she just inspects me, and finally gives me the spear for free, telling me that I've not tried to con her and did an honest trade, telling me then to remember once I'm a high lvl to do so with low lvl players ! Be sure I will...

Man how glad I was to get such a nice Piercer since I really need to raise my skill.

I had a SCH (slime coated harpoon) and dreamed of getting a SCS. I was meeting a guildie in shady (EC) to give him my old leggings when a barbarian came up to me and asked if I would trade my spear. Thinking he was a newbie not really relizing what the spear was I replied, "Probably not, unless I got the right...." then I saw the trade screen pop up with a nifty looking spear in it, I finished my sentence then looked at what it was. I quickly asked what else he wanted in the trade but he replied that he just wanted the harpoon. I put it in the trade window and hit trade. Then asked him why he did it (I'm sure I got the better deal....or did I). Then he said that he needed it for his range slot for the boosts. He then told me that he had a better Prm weapon. Hmmmm, I am now wondering if I did get the better end of the deal. Wudda you think?

mine has a damage of 10 and procs at level 41

With a Dex of 105 and a level of 36, I receive the message that "my will is not sufficient to command this weapon." I hope this helps...

I am a 27th Dwarf Rogue (Dark elf with mask :P) that is weilding this weapon in the primary and a Yak in the 2nd. I just wanted to say for those Rogues out there not using slashing in the off-hand start. With the amount of unbuffed dex I have (157) at 40th lvl I will be proc'ing weapons left and right. At 37 the Yak starts to proc and at 40th the spear will start to work. This is a ok spear but there are many better items out there so don't spend more then 1K for this.

i was just under the beastiary section and couldnt find any info on the chief. anyone got anything?

I got this at lvl42 and the highest it has proc'd for me is 38hp however it goes off every 20 seconds if not faster, the guy i got it from said he had only seen upto 38 points from its proc, he was lvl 40 so in conclusion it procs from lvl40 (possibly lower) and does 38hp DD that can be resisted fully or partially, hope this helps a little. on price i traded a Cleric arm slot worth 4500pp for it and i think i got a good deal, any shaman or ranger would love this item 3sta 6wis dmg/dly of 2.8 and only 3wgt plus 10svcold for good measure, whats not to love.
